South Korea has signed a $14.8 billion arms deal with Poland to supply the North Atlantic Treaty Organization member with about 980 K-2 Black Panther main battle tanks, 648 K-9 self-propelled artillery and about 50 FA-50 light fighter jets.It is the first time South Korea has sold arms to a European country, a sign of its rapid growth in foreign military sales in recent years and the Asian nation's emergence as a major arms supplier to European nations.
South Korea's foreign military sales have grown rapidly in recent years.From 2016 to 2020, South Korea's arms exports grew 210% over the previous five years, the fastest growth among major arms exporters, and the country's global share of arms exports has risen to ninth place in the world during this period, accounting for 2.7%.The advantages of South Korea's arms export products are artillery, training aircraft and naval ships, and the sale of weapons types are relatively complete.In 2021, South Korea's foreign military sales have exceeded $7 billion.The FA-50 light fighter jet alone is worth up to $3 billion in the deal with Poland, according to South Korean industry sources.
近日，韓國與波蘭簽署了一項高達148億美元的軍售協議，依據協議，韓國將爲波蘭這個北大西洋公約組織成員國提供大約980輛K-2“黑豹”主戰坦克、648門K-9自行火炮和大約50架FA-50輕型戰鬥機。這是韓國首次向歐洲國家出售軍火，不僅表明近年來韓國對外軍售的快速增長，也標誌着韓國這個亞洲國家將會成爲歐洲國家的一個重要的武器供應國。
近年來，韓國對外軍售增長迅速。2016年至2020年，韓國的軍火出口相比上一個五年增長210%，是全球主要武器出口國中增長最快的國家，韓國的軍火出口全球份額在這期間已經上升到全球第九位，佔比爲2.7%。韓國軍火出口的優勢產品是火炮、教練機和軍艦，且出售武器類型比較齊全。2021年，韓國對外軍售已超過70億美元。據韓國業內人士表示，此次與波蘭的軍售協議中，僅FA-50輕型戰鬥機一項的價值就高達30億美元。
