Rep Dittrich on Sexual Assault by a Health Care Provider

In this chamber, the public really doesn't know we get most things passed in a bipartisan manner. And this was a great opportunity for bipartisanship. I don't think there's anyone in this chamber who would say that it's okay for a doctor to sexually assault a patient. And further, this loophole really leaves patients more vulnerable. So when the representative from the 78th brought this to my attention, I was shocked and I was happy as a person who is a big proponent of victims' rights to pursue closing this loophole. After much work, we got it buttoned up and I'm thrilled that it is on the floor today so that we can protect the good patients of Wisconsin. The vote is definitively yes on this, Mr. Speaker, and it's an honor to have it here today. Thank you.
