These gluten free brownies are made with cocoa powder. They are dark chocolate date bars and are very easy to make. They are also healthy and delicious! The recipe is below 👇
How to make gluten free brownies with cocoa - dark chocolate date bars -
1 cup dates 1 cup walnuts (or nut of choice) 4 tablespoons dark, unsweetened cocoa powder
Line an 8x4 inch (10x20 cm) bread loaf pan with parchment paper, letting it hang from the sides.
If you are using Medjool dates you can skip this step. If you are not, place the dates in a bowl and cover with hot water. Soak for 10 minutes.
Place the nuts in a food processor and process until coarsely chopped. Remove the dates from the water and add them. Add the cocoa powder. Process until it resembles brownie batter. Mine had a little bit of dates in them and they were divine.
Press the brownie into the prepared bowl with damp hands. Try and keep it even. Place the pan in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Remove the brownies from the pan by pulling out the paper. Cut them as small or large as you like. Store them in the fridge, wrapped in parchment paper, in a closed container. They will last you for 2 to 3 weeks. You can also freeze them for up to two months.

If you're using medjool dates, you do not need to do this step, okay?
Mine are not, so I'm gonna soak them. I have a packed cup of dates in this cup.
Don't stress out with the measurements here. If it's a little more or less, it doesn't matter.
This water boiled and it's very hot. I'm gonna pour it on top of the dates and let them soak
for a good 10 minutes. While that's soaking, we're gonna line a bread loaf pan. This is an 8 by 4
inch, so 10 by 20 centimeter. So we want to have parchment paper hanging on both sides.
I'm gonna put a cup of walnuts into my food processor. You can use pecans, you can use
almonds, whatever you want, cashews, okay? I'm going to pulse this until I have, you know,
small chunks of nuts. I don't want to turn it into a powder or a butter.
Now we're gonna add our soaked dates. If you'd like, you could cool this down and put it in the
fridge and use it to sweeten stuff. It's not super sweet, but it has a little bit of sweetness and
it's pretty delicious. Finally, we're going to add our cocoa powder to this. This is unsweetened
and I'm not getting paid for this. This was a gift from my friends from Culto.
They make this chocolate in Mexico. I know the family. It is excellent chocolate. So if you're
in Mexico and you can get your hands on this, I highly recommend it. Obviously, use the chocolate
you have as long as it is not sweetened, okay? I'm gonna put four tablespoons in here.
Absolute perfection. So now we put it in our prepared pan. How easy is this? And how healthy
is this? I'm gonna go wash my hands and leave them wet so we can press this in here.
Try and have it even, okay? We're gonna now refrigerate this for about 20 minutes. Let's
check our brownies. Obviously, you can make these as thick as you want, guys.
What a great little snack or dessert. Loaded in good things. Check it out. Super moist.
Oh my gosh.
I'm going to store these in the refrigerator like this. Just gonna wrap it, put it in a
container with a lid, and they will be in the fridge, guys. You can freeze them if you want,
if you're not gonna finish them. But yeah, I think you're gonna finish them.
Thanks for watching. I'm gonna see you soon.
