Recipe -
Makes about 24 cookies
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) lavender flowers
1/2 cup (115 grams) butter - softened
3/4 cups (94 grams) honey
1 large egg - room temperature
1 1/2 cups (195 grams) whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
Heat your oven to 350 F (176 C) and line cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicon.
Place the lavender flowers in a coffee grinder or a mortar or a blander and break down.
Cream the butter and the honey in a bowl, until smooth. Add the egg and mix well.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and lavender flowers.
Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ones until there is no longer any dry ingredients in the bowl. Do not over mix.
Spoon the cookies onto the pan and press down on them gently with the back of a spoon or your fingers. These do not spread so no need to separate them too much.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the borders are lightly browned.
Remove them from the oven and transfer them to a cooling rack. These will last for up to a week in an air tight container.

I am going to be using lavender flowers for this recipe
and I'm going to use a half a teaspoon. I got these on Amazon by the way if
you're interested in buying them. I'll put a link at the bottom
but they're very nice. So I'm just going to put that into my
coffee grinder and grind it. If you don't have a coffee
grinder you can do a mortar. You can put it in your blender but we
So I don't want to turn them into a powder but I don't want them whole
either okay. So this recipe is going to be underneath
the video with grams and cups but I'm just going to
cream some butter and honey in this bowl. Now this has been softening
so it's softened butter yeah. You can obviously use
a beater if you want. We're going to add an egg at room temperature.
Mix that in well. I am using whole wheat flour for this. You can use
regular white flour that's fine but in here
I have also some baking powder and the lavender and a little bit of salt.
We are going to spoon our cookies onto a lined
baking sheet. These cookies don't spread. They're actually pretty cakey. All right
they're gonna go into an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit 176 centigrade
until the edges are nice and brown. So I don't know about 10 minutes okay.
I'm gonna give them a little squish. I'm gonna put the dough into the fridge
while I'm baking them okay. The only reason my kitchen is really
really hot because it's spring here so if your kitchen isn't
really hot you don't have to worry about it.
All right these cooked for about 12 minutes.
The edges are very lightly browned that's what we want.
They are like as I said they're like cakey so this is perfect. I'm gonna let
them cool down completely and then we'll taste
them okay. This recipe is gonna give you about 24
cookies depending on the size you make. These are finished guys.
They are delicious. As I told you they are a little cakey.
Oh and they taste really really nice. They aren't super sweet and they have
that hint of lavender. I don't know. I love these. Thanks for
watching. I'm gonna see you soon.
