What do you think about your biggest and bloodiest lesson?
Every lesson is bloody.
I don't have a big or small lesson.
Every lesson is stupid.
I feel like I'm being deceived.
The cost of the first lesson, right?
The cost of everything is very different from Hanoi.
Hello, everyone. Welcome back to my channel.
If this is your first time on this channel,
this is a video about fashion and fashion trends.
This is the first video I invite guests from different places in the fashion industry
to share with you more about their work and stories.
Today, I invite Sam, the founder of Wallenty, a fashion brand.
This is our guest today.
Sam and I have been friends for 2 years, right?
Yes.
We met each other because we worked in the same fashion industry.
We met by chance when we went to the market.
I don't think I'm that close to you.
Because when we were at the market,
I saw that you were very committed to your work.
I'm the same.
We are in the same boat.
But I don't know if I should talk to you.
Because we are in the same industry.
We are in the same company.
I don't know if people think we are competitors.
I don't feel comfortable.
But after talking to you, I see that you can share a lot of experiences.
That's also a problem that a lot of people think.
People think that if we work in the same industry, we will be competitors.
But we can still wait for each other very happily, right?
We support each other, help each other get better.
There are a lot of mistakes.
I make mistakes and you make mistakes.
We help each other.
That's why I invited Sam here today
to share with everyone the stories in our business.
First of all, Sam is also a businesswoman.
You are studying tourism, right?
Yes, hotel tourism.
Sam is also studying hotel tourism.
So you are in the business of fashion.
Can you share with everyone about your process?
How is the current direction of Wallenty?
What is the style of Wallenty?
Wallenty has been around for 3 years.
Actually, I came to the industry very naturally.
It's like a destiny.
I didn't choose it, but the job chose me.
I feel that I do what I do best.
At that time, I didn't think too much when I started.
But when I started, I was very passionate.
I just did my best.
I've been around for 3 years now.
Customers are also 22-year-olds who are starting to go to work.
Because I specialize in fashion.
I wear a vest when I go to work.
It's a bit formal.
It's suitable for me to go to work.
Sam and I used to run a business in Hanoi.
We are both from Hanoi.
Now, Sam has moved to Saigon.
He also moved to Saigon to live there.
This is also an experience that I have never experienced.
Because Caffee is in Hanoi.
But Wallenty has been in Saigon for 6 months.
During the time that you moved from Hanoi to Saigon,
did you find anything difficult?
Yes, I did.
When I started to move to a new area,
I didn't think much.
Because I thought I was still traveling a lot.
I thought it was my country.
But it was different.
I used to have a lot of customers in Saigon.
I had a lot of customers in Saigon.
So I was confident to move in.
But when I actually did it,
it was not as I imagined.
I think the biggest difference is the price.
It's about everything.
I feel like I'm being overpriced.
The cost of moving in, right?
The cost of everything is very different from Hanoi.
For example, a house in Saigon is always 1.5 or 2 times more expensive
than a house in Hanoi.
But the result is not always the same.
That was also my concern when I moved to Saigon.
Because I didn't know what was going on in Saigon.
Now I have a lot of things that I can't see.
Especially, my business is not as successful as I want it to be.
It's true that the house price in Saigon is very high.
Sometimes it's x2 higher than in Hanoi.
But I can't scale it up to x2.
It's not as I imagined.
So the cost is quite high compared to my business here.
Another problem is the human resources.
Because human resources are the most important thing in business.
Is there anything difficult when you move in?
Yes.
Because the working environment in Saigon is also different.
Actually, my employees are going to work and study more.
But their attitude is different from Hanoi employees.
For example, in Hanoi, people will pay more attention to the working environment.
You can learn from that experience.
So it's a bit more...
It's more important to learn about salary and money.
In Saigon, not many people care about salary and money.
But it's still a matter of salary.
The price in Saigon is higher than in Hanoi.
So it's not just about salary.
All the expenses I have to pay every month are higher.
But it doesn't mean that the price is higher.
The quality is better.
It's not as high as the house price in Saigon.
But I'm not sure it's more effective.
It's the same street, but the price is higher.
But in Nguyễn Trãi street, it's 3-4 times higher.
It's also a problem that people need to consider a lot when moving to a business environment.
Actually, both of us are freelancers.
During the process, we spend a lot of money because of our stupidity.
All stupidity has to be repaid with money.
We don't spend money to study.
But we have to pay a lot of money to study.
What is your biggest lesson?
Every lesson is a lesson.
I don't have a big or small lesson.
Every lesson is stupid.
What I regret the most and I think I have to change in the future.
I can't let it happen again.
It's how I manage my personal life.
It depends on the personality of the person.
I like to manage my personal life in a friendly way.
Like a sister in the family.
I want all employees to be like a sister to me.
But I'm not sure it's a good way to manage it.
In the past, I had a lot of employees.
I hired a lot of people because I thought it would be effective.
But when I hired them, I set a limit between the manager and the employee.
It's too far.
I don't have the authority to say anything.
I don't have the privacy.
I think they know my personal story.
So they know what to say to me.
I let them take the initiative.
But it's too fast.
It leads to the fact that they are not active.
It's not right to be active.
When you are active, you don't have to ask to make decisions.
At first, I thought that employees should be more active.
Then you will succeed faster.
You will develop faster.
But there are many downsides.
I think it's complicated to manage employees.
That's why big companies have their own staff.
But for a small company like mine,
the boss is the one who manages them.
In the past, I thought they would be good to me.
But there are still limits.
I'm kind to my employees.
But I don't talk to them much.
I let them manage the store.
When I say something to them,
they will listen to me.
I don't want to be too close to them.
In the past, I thought I was too far away from them.
Sometimes they don't understand me or don't love me.
But being too close to them makes me feel bad.
Everyone loses money.
If you don't lose money in business,
it's not a business.
You have to go up and down.
In business, you have to go up and down.
You will learn a lot.
I don't know if I have any advice.
My advice is that
if you have been in the fashion industry for 3 years,
it's good to run a brand for 3 years.
But do you have any advice for those who want to start in the fashion industry?
What should you do in the beginning
to reduce the risk of losing money?
I think the biggest lesson you should remember is
saving money, saving money, saving money.
For the first 2 years,
I had to do all the functions in the company.
For example, applying, editing,
taking pictures, being a stylist,
checking products,
adjusting the quality of the design.
So I had to do it myself.
If I didn't know how to do it,
I didn't know how to convey my wishes to people.
I also spent a lot of money to learn that lesson.
Last year, it took me half a year to learn it.
It was a very big lesson.
Now I'm back to the first stage.
I did it myself.
Actually, it also helps young people learn a lot of soft skills
that no one usually teaches.
So there is no chance for me to learn.
But because of that,
I am very proud of my ability to learn by myself.
In some skills, for example,
I learned all by myself.
Design graphics, photoshop,
edit video, all by myself.
And I'm also very passionate about it.
I love editing and everything.
When I did it, I discovered my passion.
If you only study,
sometimes you have to do it to know if you like it or not.
In my opinion,
since last year,
Valentine's Day has been very fast.
I can go to Saigon market.
It's a very big market.
I wish I could go there.
But I'm not ready yet.
There are a lot of stores in Saigon.
It's like a flagship store
where people can come and experience.
I've seen a lot of famous people,
including myself.
It's a big step for me to promote my brand.
What do you do to develop yourself?
First,
I have to maintain a good reputation.
Second,
the quality of the product is good.
When I approached KOL,
they were very nice
to support the brand.
Because they also like the product.
I also want to promote it.
Many people even contacted me
and said they liked my product.
After that, we became friends.
Everyone likes the product.
They feel comfortable
to promote their products.
Sometimes they don't spend money.
They don't spend money to promote.
They just like the product they wear.
There are two things.
First,
the product must be of good quality.
It will not only attract customers,
but also provide free advertising
to make a reputation for yourself.
It's very effective.
Second,
I have to invest in good images.
I not only sell at the store,
I also sell online on social media.
The first image that customers see
is mostly on social media.
I have to keep my image well-known.
Clean and beautiful.
Actually, a beautiful image
means I respect my customers.
Your sharing today
is very valuable to me.
Because there are things
I have never experienced.
Although you and I
started at the same time.
Yes, at the same time.
I was born in October 2017.
I was born around that time.
At the end of 2017.
Although we have been together for 3 years,
our experiences have changed a lot.
I have to learn a lot from you.
I learned a lot.
After I finished my 7th grade,
I thought
I should learn from you.
I didn't listen to what you said.
But you are not wrong.
You are right.
Our lessons
are also experiences
to share with you.
For those who want to
approach the fashion industry
and start in the fashion industry.
That's why I want to
have a series of
such special guests
to share with you.
I'm so happy.
I don't know
if what I shared
is useful to you.
In the next video,
what topic do you want me to talk about?
Please leave a comment for me to know.
See you in the next episode.
