#HOWTOTREFLIP #Danwebz #howtoskateboard
What's up and welcome my friends. My name is Dan Webbs and I've got over 17 years of
skateboard experience and today I'm going to teach you how to tre flip but not in the
normal way you would expect. Let's get straight into it.
If you've ever seen this tutorial before or asked someone how to tre flip in public, then
you would likely know that they will tell you it's all in the back foot, e.g. the scoop.
If you don't know what the scoop is, I'll give you a very quick rundown of what that
means now. Kicking off the shoe, shout out Lakai for these, by the way. Using the ball
of your foot, which would be around here on your shoe, you're going to put that hanging
over the edge of the tail here. We call this the pocket of the tail right here. It's the
bit in between the concave and the very tip of the tail, but for the tre flip, you're
going to have your back foot. For regular, it's going to look like this with your toes
hanging over this side. For goofy, it's going to be your other foot, pretend this is my
left shoe, and it's going to be hanging over this side.
To do this variation of the tre flip, you might actually need to do a bit of training
outside of skateboarding if you can't fully get the scoop yet because it requires quite
the leg muscle in order to get the board to do the entire. Without actually popping it,
it's going to take quite a lot of leg muscle, but you can build it over time in skateboarding.
If you want a little frame skip to speedrun it, then you can train it in the gym just
literally doing any exercise that includes the legs, it will help massively anyway.
The foot position. The foot position for this one is simple. The front foot, it really does
not matter. You can almost have it wherever you damn well please because the front foot
does really not a lot apart from guiding where you're going to land the board. The back foot
is going to do all of it and it's going to hang right over the tail like I just told
you. Instead of pushing down to pop the trick and then hit it backwards like you would normally
see in a tre flip tutorial, for this one you're going to put all of your effort into that
back foot and just hit it directly this way. If you look into the slow motions, the tail
barely even touches the ground when you do it.
If you hit the tail enough in this corner pocket, then it doesn't even hit the ground
like you would for a normal tre flip if you were to pop more in a downward motion. This
one you're going to scoop it underneath. This part of the board, you're going to aim
to hit it like here, so it goes like this. Hit this so hard with the back foot that it
literally goes. A couple tricks you can practice if you're not quite ready for this yet is
a shove it, a 360 shove it. These things are going to help you get that little scoop motion.
Personally, I find it harder to do the 360 shove it, but if you are struggling to get
the flip and you do find the free shove easier, just literally have your foot about halfway
up like this. If you're struggling with the flip, having your front foot there will help
a little bit. Just give it a little roll off the ankle as it goes round.
Other than that, the front foot doesn't do much apart from just get out of the way of
the board. Although, if you want to squeeze out a little bit, you can use the front foot
to guide your landing and land on the front foot first. That's a video for another day.
Right now, we're just covering the normal side. If you can't fully get the board to
rotate all the way yet, maybe you're doing something like that, what you need to do is
you need to train up that leg muscle. You can either do that by repeatedly trying this
trick and a bunch of other tricks in the same category, or you can go to the gym and train
your legs there. That is a speed run hack for tricks like this. If you want to learn
double flips, if you want to learn any trick with the board flips more than once, it's
going to require that extra leg strength, then going to the gym is going to help with
that massively. Once you're fully trained, you shouldn't
have-
