(Premier League 2023/2024): Highlights Newcastle - Man Utd

Game 1 of 8 in December for United, some fabulous festive fixtures to come and it all starts in the freezing northeast in Newcastle where once again United are in a stadium where the atmosphere really is something to behold. Now here's Garnaccio inside left channel, Garnaccio forces the save from Nick Pope, it was a very acute angle but the sort of form that he's in Garnaccio, he might have done a shave better there, Joe Linton pulls it across, great save that a superb save low to his right hand side, big big moment in this first half. Great save, it really was a good save. Well it is going to be Trippier, Trippier! How unlucky is that? Keita completely beaten, crossbar comes to United's rescue. Yeah it does. Isak now, Gimaraes wave after wave of attack, Trippier, great ball across and Gordon scores and you have to say it was coming. Newcastle lead and you can't really argue with it, Anthony Gordon again, what a season he's having, Newcastle 1 United 0. Joe Linton, he goes on the outside, Joe Linton with the ball across, will it break? It's brilliantly blocked by Wan-Bissaka, Miley's effort goal bound, Wan-Bissaka hopefully with an heroic block. Short, it's Joe Linton, the volley from Reguilón, oh what a block, blocked by Scar, Maguire's there, blocked. Whether that was going in from Reguilón, not so sure. Sure the ball in, oh Maguire was coming in, Anthony! It's gone in, but the flag will surely go up for offside. He's not offside there. No. Okay, and he is there now. He is there, and if it hits him, yeah it does. A sixth league defeat of the season for Manchester United and Newcastle go above Manchester United and the first time for more than 100 years that they beat United three times in a row in all competitions. Newcastle 1 United 0.
