It's just the simple farmer life for me.
It ain't about the size, it's about how you use it.
Good morning adventurers. Good morning. So if you caught our last video we drove to a place
that's about an hour north of Gothenburg here in Sweden, a town called Lekorna.
I think that's how you say it. Yes, I think so, yeah.
We were going to head into Gothenburg, but we found out that they're doing a farmer's festival.
Something like that. Our host said if you're looking for something to do, there's this thing.
He said it was called a farmer's day.
Basically, I think what it is is like a two-day farming festival with an emphasis on kind of like
a strongman competition, but a strong farmer competition. I don't know.
Well, we've strolled around a bit and they have all kinds of little exhibits with different
farmer's tools, a bunch of different stalls with some different type of food.
They have horses roaming around everywhere. Yeah, little crafts,
lots and lots of horses and tractors and things like that.
Basically, everyone in the area is out here today. There are so many cars, so many people, it's crazy.
I'm so glad he recommended this. I think we're going to have a good old time here.
We'll just hang out here for a little bit and see what's going on. Hopefully,
we can catch some of the competitions and then we will head down to Gothenburg,
which is just about an hour drive to get some delicious street food.
Oh my god, there are so many dogs here. I feel like my heart is going to explode.
Yeah, big ones, small ones, a lot of horses too.
Bye. We found an area where they have these huge bunnies and they're spinning their fur.
They're cutting them over there too, shearing them.
Yeah, they're shearing them over there and then spinning it and making all of this
knit work with, I think they're angora. I've heard of that as a sweater type,
but I guess that's the rabbit type as well. They are epically furry too and so cool looking.
So from what we can gather, apparently this competition is a horse pulling a log.
And who can do it best? I'm not really sure.
Yeah, I guess they guide the horse through.
Yeah, the horse guides through. There's a bunch of, I'm assuming,
judges following to see how they maneuver.
It's a bit too much excitement for me though.
I know, I know. We might need to take a break after this one.
This is super neat. It's a tent that sits on top of your truck.
It looks super sturdy too and they even have little hanging racks for your shoes.
It's well thought out.
Yeah, it's really spacious and you get off the ground. I never would have thought of that.
Tent on a car.
That's how I want to camp from now on instead of on the ground with all the creepy crawlies.
Well, that was the coolest thing that I've seen here.
Some guy was on a dirt bike doing tricks like you would on a BMX bike.
Yeah, just hopping all over the place.
But I didn't even know that that was a thing. That thing must be really heavy.
That's pretty impressive.
He made it look light as a feather. It was really cool.
Y'all, our new obsession is olives.
Eric recently found out that he liked them. I've liked them all my life,
but now that he really likes them, it's our go-to snack.
We've been putting them in pasta and everything,
but this little stand had all of these.
I think they're all organic and they do their own seasoning.
And the guy is Greek.
That's a good sign.
Pretty authentic.
Yeah, I think we're going to try to maybe get a couple more goodies and then hit the road.
You get three for 50.
Oh, okay.
If you want.
I can recommend this one.
It's a lime.
Oh, okay. Perfect.
They'll be good.
All right, we have olives to snack on on our drive.
We have some licorice that we got, which you got to get that in Sweden.
You guys saw what happened the last time we tried licorice though.
It's like eating baking soda.
That's edible?
We got no salted flavors.
I think we only got like sour ones.
We're gonna hit the road and head down to Gothenburg.
We've arrived in Gothenburg.
It's a pretty nice drive.
Got to go through some more of the Swedish countryside, which was awesome.
Very beautiful.
The woods here are pristine.
There was actually a food truck that we wanted to eat at here in the city that is right over here.
And it is open just for one more hour.
So we're popping in and I'm very excited for this.
I don't think it's what you think it'll be.
Unless you looked at the thumbnail and then you already know what it is.
Check this out.
Look at these, man.
You think they're big enough for you?
Definitely not.
I need about double this size.
They are called, I think, tonbrödsrull.
Basically, what it means is tonbröd is thin bread.
So it's kind of like a tortilla, like a really thin wrap.
This looks more like a tortilla than I was expecting.
I think they can kind of look a little bit different.
But what makes these so special is it's a sausage and mashed potatoes in the wrap is the classic way.
And then, as you can see, these ones have quite a bit more stuff.
There are some lingonberries in there and a bunch of salad, I think.
So it's like a whole meal in a wrap.
I don't know if we've ever had mashed potatoes in a wrap before.
Definitely not.
But look how cool this is.
You could also get it as like a plate if you didn't want it or, I think, on bread.
I don't even know how to begin to eat this because it's just going to be all tortilla.
I feel like I need to peel the tortilla back.
Whatever, I'm just going to go for it.
Oh my gosh.
Did I just squirt out?
You squirted it all the way over here to me.
That's a plump sausage.
It says over there that their bangers are from Britain.
And they taste like delicious British sausage to me.
I didn't really get into the other stuff in there because it's all tortilla the first
couple bites.
See if I can get a bite with all this good stuff in there.
The potatoes and the berries.
It's a much better bite.
Pretty good.
It's very satisfying.
It's like a feast because you have the meat, you got the potatoes, you got a little bit
of salad to keep it a little bit healthy.
And then you got the tanginess from the berries.
It's like Thanksgiving dinner, basically.
I'm going to preemptively take off some of this wrap because it's so hard to get down
to the goodness.
That's a much better idea than what I did.
Definitely very interesting.
That sausage is super flavorful.
Usually the pale ones, I'm always scared they're going to be bland, but it's really nice.
It's got a lot of seasoning and herbs and spices in there.
You're right.
The berries are a nice little burst of tartness and sweetness.
These are little pickled cucumbers on there, but like sweet pickled.
All the flavors go really well together.
The savory and the sweet.
I think the berries are a good call because that's what makes it interesting because without
that, I think it'd be a little bland.
Yeah.
As you eat it down, you definitely get more mixing of all the flavors.
It's just so good.
And they put these crunchy little crispy onions in there.
The sausage is definitely like the most flavorful part, but if you get a bite without any sausage,
it's almost just as good.
It really is like leftovers from a dinner all wrapped into a wrap.
We haven't officially tried meatballs here yet.
We are saving it, but it should look similar to this kind of.
It should have, I think all these components, but be meatballs instead of sausage.
And maybe the bread will be on the side, but I think it's going to have mashed potatoes
and a little berry.
So I'm excited to try that.
We're just taking a stroll through this park that's right in the middle of Gothenburg
called Tradgårdsforeningen.
As you can hear, it's right in the middle of the city.
It's a 19th century park.
And as you stroll through, it's like you immediately exit the city.
So it's cool.
It's just a solemn place right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.
It's also surrounded by a bunch of flowers and roses.
It's extremely well kept too.
All of the paths are beautiful and all of the flowers.
There are so many little arrangements everywhere.
And this, I guess, is like a little maze area.
That's why I stopped because I don't know where we're going.
But they also have this palm house over here that is a really cool looking structure.
And it looks to be full of a bunch of palms.
And I think it's free to enter.
So I think that's where we are going to be headed.
Let's see what this palm house is all about.
Just kidding.
It's freaking closed.
It closed 10 minutes ago.
Son of a bee.
We're just walking around the park enjoying the day.
Yeah, and we missed it.
Well, I guess there's only one thing we can do now.
Have a fika.
So we've taken a quick walk over to the area called Haga,
which is, as you can see, the cozy shopping and fika area since 1648.
I think this street is called Haga, but so is this area.
And it has a bunch of coffee shops, cool boutique shops, vegan shops,
a lot of yummy cafes with cinnamon rolls, which is what we are about to try.
But it's just known for it.
It has the old wooden buildings that are pretty traditional dating back centuries.
So it's really well preserved, but really cool and hip.
All right, let's talk in more fika-ing.
Is that a word?
It is now.
The cafe is right here.
Let's go get some cinnamon rolls.
Oh my gosh, look at this cinnamon roll.
Just kidding.
They're sold out.
What a fail.
Place known for cinnamon rolls is sold out of cinnamon rolls.
So much for drowning our tears in a dang fika.
Now we got to drown even more tears.
It's like a river of tears we have to drown now.
Seriously, though, we were pretty sad about that.
You guys, they're known for these giant cinnamon rolls that are apparently really good,
like some of the best in the world.
So we were super excited to come here and try it.
But now I'm sad because we didn't get to try them.
Well, learn from our mistake and come way early.
Be first in line even.
And then you're probably guaranteed a cinnamon roll.
Well, we decided to call it a day because we were just having one fail after another.
And, you know, behind the scenes,
sometimes it just gets frustrating when you're out and you plan this day
and you have this stuff you're really excited about.
And then you go there and it doesn't work out for whatever reason.
So we were just like, we were just both in an annoyed mood.
So yeah, sometimes you can salvage it.
Sometimes you just can't.
So the fika might have been a fail, but I know something that won't be.
The hard stuff.
Cheers.
To a day.
But we almost forgot that we haven't tried our licorice yet
that we got at that little farmer's festival earlier,
which was awesome, by the way.
That was the highlight of the day for us.
That was so much fun.
We have one that is, I think you described it as pear lime.
Pear lime, something like that.
It's so heavy, right?
I'm the most excited about that one.
I'm going to take that.
OK.
Wow, it smells really good.
It smells very citrusy.
Look at this thing.
It's heavy.
It feels like a snake.
Yeah, I know, right?
It's really like slinky.
It's also got some filling on the inside that kind of runs through it.
So I think it's going to have a little burst of flavor.
Yeah.
And I'll try the rainbow one because he said that this one was a really popular one.
I don't know if it was it a flavor or was it just rainbows?
I think it was just a bunch of flavors.
OK.
Cheers.
We got to eat it quick because we're losing our natural light in the room.
Oh, is that too big of a bite?
Oh, wow.
That's delicious.
This is delicious.
Oh, my God.
That's so much better than I thought it was going to be.
Wow.
This takes me back to being a kid and going to the movie theater.
Oh, my gosh.
I absolutely love this.
I'm trying to think of how to describe it.
When you bite into it, you just get this burst of fruitiness and citrusiness.
And is citrusiness a word?
I don't know about that.
It does.
It tastes like a rainbow.
Confirmed.
It's like a fruity rainbow.
All right.
We better wrap this up.
I'm actually monitoring the video here, and I can see that it's getting really dark.
The day started off strong, then kind of wasn't very strong.
And then I think we finished strong with the licorice because we were expecting that it
was just going to be really comedic to watch us squirm when we're eating it.
This is actually delicious.
This is so good.
I definitely understand.
We've been seeing licorice in all the grocery stores and everything.
Huge, like crazy flavor.
So y'all are on to something.
It's really good.
So tomorrow we have something really special planned.
We're going to make a stop at this car graveyard.
I saw pictures of it online.
I was like, wow, this is really weird.
It's way out of the way.
And there's just some really interesting stuff there that we want to show you guys.
Well, we're going to eat all of this tonight.
Hopefully we can save some for the road trip tomorrow.
But anyway, it's all right.
That's all.
That's all for tonight.
All right.
Good night, adventurers.
We'll see you on the road.
