Welcome to Norman Rockwell Museum. Located in the artist's hometown of Stockbridge, Massachusetts,
we're one of the most popular destinations here in New England and beyond. You'll experience the
world's largest collection of original art by Norman Rockwell, along with the work of contemporary
and past masters in the field of American illustration. On our main floor, you'll find
Rockwell's original paintings, changing exhibitions on the art of illustration, and be sure to set
aside some time to visit the museum store, filled with the artist's prints and books,
as well as Rockwell-inspired gifts. No worries, shipping is easily arranged. Our seasonal terrace
cafe, open the end of May through October, offers an array of items such as salads, pre-made
sandwiches, beverages, and snacks. For cooler seasons, enjoy a coffee, tea, or light snack from the
refreshment cart found in the museum lobby. Please be aware that food and beverages may not be taken
into the galleries. We offer three daily Rockwell talks, given by our popular docents at 11, 12 30,
and 2 30. Extra talks are added during our busy fall foliage season in October, and by appointment.
On our lower level, you'll find all of Norman Rockwell's 323 Saturday evening post covers.
There's also an informative 12-minute film about Norman Rockwell's life and career, narrated by
his son Peter. During the summer and fall months, be sure to visit Norman Rockwell's original
working space, which he called his best studio yet. Open to visitors May through October, the studio
was moved from his home in downtown Stockbridge, where he lived and worked for the last 25 years
of his life. To keep our paintings safe, we ask that while in the galleries, please keep a safe
distance of 12 inches from the paintings, including when trying to point out a particular detail.
For most exhibitions, non-flash photography is permitted. Otherwise,
signs will be posted in galleries where photography is not permitted. Lockers are also
available for small items. However, we ask you to keep oversized backpacks, bags, and any liquids
back on the bus. Both the museum and Rockwell studio are wheelchair accessible. There is also
an elevator in the lobby to visit both floors of the museum. All restrooms offer accessible access,
and we have a few wheelchairs and a walker for loan if needed. We hope you enjoy your visit.
Please spread the word by person and by social media,
and visit often. There's always something new to see at Norman Rockwell Museum.
