Can you imagine that Taiwan is not as weak as you think?
The force is capable of occupying more than 90% of the country.
It will form the world's strongest F-16 battalion
and will cooperate with the United States to produce new weapons.
When you understand the huge change in the Taiwan-U.S. military-industrial complex,
you may be in awe.
In fact, the Taiwan force cannot be underestimated.
Hello everyone, welcome to the Taiwan Ocean Climate Special Program of the New Cold War Formation.
I am Ling Yuesheng.
Today, I will talk about the latest developments of the F-16V.
I will also talk to you about what kind of aircraft the Taiwan Air Force needs to update.
Is the F-15E suitable for the Taiwan Air Force?
The latest news is that the Taiwan Air Force's F-16A-B fighter jet
has been fully deployed on December 21.
In addition, the Taiwan Air Force has launched a new F-16V fighter jet
for the U.S. military-industrial complex.
According to the plan, the single-seat and double-seat aircraft will be replaced next year.
According to the forecast,
the Taiwan Air Force plans to send 65 soldiers to the U.S. next January to December
for tactical training.
The total number is much more than the 50 sent in the past three years.
The Taiwan Air Force believes that the F-16V's thrust has increased
and its fuselage has been optimized.
Due to the addition of propellant, the range has been increased.
It can be used in outdoor combat and has some mid-range features.
In addition, it can be used in air-to-air search, tracking, weapon control,
electronic warfare and communication, and more.
It also has an electronic zoom radar, AESA.
The F-16V also has a new mission computer and electronic warfare components,
an automatic ground defense system, and various cockpit improvements.
The F-16V can interact with F-35s and F-22s,
and can be deployed to suppress local air defense missions,
air-to-ground and air-to-air operations,
and mid-range and sea-to-land missions.
In this way, the newly purchased L-6, plus the original F-16V,
the Taiwan Air Force has more than 200 F-16Vs.
These F-16Vs will be the absolute main force of the Taiwan Air Force.
Taiwan Air Force's absolute main force
Global Firepower 2023 Global Military Power Rankings
The United States, Russia and China are in the top three.
Taiwan has fallen from the 23rd place last year to the 23rd place.
However, the Taiwan Air Force is clearly ahead.
It has 285 fighter jets and 91 attack helicopters.
It is ranked eighth in the world,
and has 1.53 million reserve troops.
Although the newly purchased and upgraded F-16Vs
continue to be sold out,
the Taiwan Air Force is still considering purchasing a new generation of fighter jets.
Why do I say this?
The Taiwan Air Force currently has 55 F-4J-1s
and 133 F-4J-1s.
F-4J-1 and F-4J-1 are only the level of the fourth generation.
Especially the F-4J-1 fighter jets.
At the time of production, there were already a lot of limited performance,
such as navigation,
and there was no way to deal with the increasing number of combat forces.
The F-4J-1 and F-4J-1 fighter jets
need to be updated in the foreseeable future.
Otherwise, in the future, if you want to fight the PLA,
At present, what new fighter jets can be purchased in Taiwan?
At present, only the United States can sell fighter jets to Taiwan.
Therefore, I will only discuss US fighter jets.
In terms of current US fighter jets,
the strongest fighter jet is of course the F-35.
If Taiwan can own 100 F-35Bs,
its combat power can be equal to that of the Air Force.
Not only is the cost of purchasing expensive,
but also the cost of operation is very expensive.
Even the US military can't afford it, let alone Taiwan.
Of course, since the F-35's combat power is really very strong,
it has a decisive impact on Taiwan's safety.
So even if it is sold, it is still worth buying.
However, such an advanced fighter jet,
in the current diplomatic situation,
the United States will still not sell it to Taiwan.
Let alone the complex situation inside Taiwan,
Taiwan's 5th platoon force is huge,
and the espionage case has fallen.
The US military is also not at ease.
The United States is currently producing three 4.5-generation fighter jets,
which are F-16E, F-15EX, and F-18EF.
F-18EF is a big hit.
I have already talked about it in the last program.
Many friends have commented that
in fact, F-15E is the best-selling fighter jet in Taiwan.
Today, let's talk about F-15E.
F-15E is the strongest fighter jet in these three warships,
and has the greatest engine thrust.
In the past decade,
Boeing has developed F-15's various new refinement projects,
hoping to make this fighter jet,
which has been around for more than 40 years,
still be able to continue.
Boeing once proposed the F-15 Lick-Zone refinement version,
called F-15SE.
Although the radar load is half as small as the traditional F-15,
this effect is still not comparable to the real F-15,
and greatly reduces the F-15's weapon load.
It should be noted that the F-15's low load is its biggest advantage in performance.
The F-15SE greatly reduces the load,
but the Lick-Zone is not competitive.
It is a design that is not suitable for both ends.
The F-15's refinement after takeoff
does not focus on Lick-Zone,
but on aircraft power upgrade and upgrade hangar capabilities.
This is the advanced eagle plan.
In order to fill the gap,
the U.S. Air Force has also adopted the advanced eagle design
due to the lack of F-35 production,
which is the later F-15EX.
Since the F-15EX has a lot of refinement,
it has been officially named the Eagle 2.
In March 2021,
the first class was handed over to the U.S. Air Force.
The U.S. Air Force plans to use the F-15EX
as an auxiliary aircraft for the fifth generation of F-35s
and carry out missions that do not require the fifth generation aircraft.
The F-15EX's predecessor,
the F-15 Eagle,
which focuses on air combat.
The U.S. Air Force won 36 air battles
in the first Bosnian War in 1991.
The U.S. Air Force won 29 battles and no war.
The U.S. Air Force also carried out
the 5th Middle East War in 1982,
which was a land battle between
F-15 and F-16 in the back of the mountain.
The U.S. Air Force has carried out 82 air battles,
including 21 and 23 battles.
The F-15 battle group has only two losses.
One of the F-15s was shot by a short-range air-to-air missile
by an R-60.
The opportunity to use the F-15EX
was shot down by an R-60 short-range air-to-air missile
with an engine that was still able to fly back to the base for recovery.
So far, the first generation of F-15 Eagle
has shot down a large number of enemy aircraft in the air,
but it has never been shot down.
The U.S. military named the F-15 Eagle-X Eagle-E
because it wanted to inherit the air-to-air missile tradition.
Specifically, the advanced version of the F-15
has been further improved by the large number of weapons.
The F-15 Eagle-X can carry traditional air-to-air,
air-to-ground, and air-to-sea strike weapons.
The weapon hanger is a 12-door air-to-air missile
with a 13.275-ton hanger that can reach 12 doors of air-to-air missiles
or 15 air-to-ground missiles.
It also has a 13.275-ton loader that can reach the unparalleled 13.275-ton loader.
Although the F-15 Eagle-X is designed in a L-shaped design,
it is equipped with electronic warfare equipment that is integrated inside,
which can provide all-round electronic warfare protection,
and can communicate with other electronic warfare devices and infrared warfare devices
to improve survivability.
In terms of engines, the F-15 Eagle-X has a maximum displacement of 810,000 pounds,
and can use GE's F-110G129 engine
or the popular F-100PW-29 turbocharged engine.
Their thrust has reached an amazing 290,000 pounds.
The F-15 Eagle-X's mission computer is also fully updated.
Its core processor can process 870 billion commands per second,
which is the fastest mission computer in the world.
With a fully-functioning and stable cockpit,
it can help pilots understand the environment and reduce workload,
making the F-15 Eagle-X easier to operate.
However, the most important reason why the U.S. Air Force purchased the F-15 Eagle-X
was because it was cheap.
The F-15 Eagle-X can fly for up to 20,000 hours,
and the average flight cost per hour is US$29,000,
which is the lowest flight cost among the U.S. military aircraft.
Taiwan's military spending is limited,
and the low flight cost is a huge advantage for the Taiwan Air Force.
In terms of combat effectiveness, the F-15 Eagle-X has a long-range combat capability far greater than the F-16E,
and has 22 hangar points.
If Taiwan purchased the F-15 Eagle-X during the Taiwan Strait War,
the F-15 Eagle-X, which can take off in an emergency,
can play the role of an air-to-air missile carrier.
In addition, the longer combat time can also continue to defend Taiwan's airspace.
Taiwan's air-to-air missile bases and airways will be attacked before landing.
Long-range combat aircraft may not need to land frequently,
so as to avoid landing because the runway is damaged
and the pilots may be forced to give up the combat aircraft.
Of course, the F-15 Eagle-X still has a problem.
That is, it does not have the ability to take off.
In the face of the Chinese army, the F-15 Eagle-X should not have a great chance of winning.
It needs the F-35 and F-22 to fight,
but in the face of the Chinese army,
maintaining the air superiority is not a problem.
As for the F-16E, there is no need to say more.
Because Taiwan currently uses the upgraded F-16A and F-16E,
and has already purchased 66 new F-16E.
If you buy F-16E to replace the Huanzhang-2000 and Jingguo,
you can further reduce the air force's fatigue and training burden and reduce costs.
But the disadvantage is that the combat power of the Taiwan Air Force is not greatly improved.
Because the F-16E already has combat power,
it is only two-sided and not side-by-side when it is refueled.
It cannot provide different types of combat power combination,
which makes the Taiwan Air Force too monotonous.
If the Taiwan Air Force only uses one type of aircraft,
it cannot cooperate with different aircraft types to achieve a consistent effect.
For example, the F-15EX can provide a large amount of ammunition,
but the F-15E cannot.
In addition, the US Congress recently issued a draft bill for the 2024 National Defense Review,
allowing the Air Force to remove 42 A-10 attack aircraft next year,
and 57 F-15CT fighter jets,
a total of 100 military aircraft,
to use the allocated space and funds to accelerate the promotion of the current F-35 fighter jets,
and the development progress of the next generation of air superiority fighter jets and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles.
For many years, the legislators of the US Congress and the Air Force have been arguing over the fate of the A-10.
The US Air Force has always said that the A-10, a slow-moving attack aircraft, is too fragile
and cannot survive in a high-intensity battlefield.
However, Congress members are very satisfied with the performance of the A-10,
because the US Air Force is too fast, and the A-10 has lost in the past 30 years of war,
including the two Italian Wars, the Afghan War and the Anti-Piracy War,
in order to effectively complete the task of regulating air support,
and the maintenance costs are also less than other advanced fighters.
As for the F-15CT fighter jets,
The F-15CT fighter jet, which has not yet entered the third quarter,
is still in the hands of the Air Force National Security Force,
and can be replaced with a new F-15E fighter jet and a new F-15EX fighter jet.
This is a great opportunity for Taiwan.
By the way, it's actually harder to change a plane than a new one.
Why do I say that?
Some parts need to be tested and updated during the process,
and some need to be maintained.
Now the F-16 has about 200,000 parts,
so the process needs to be planned thoroughly.
Each aircraft also needs to adapt to the aircraft,
unlike the new parts and assembly work,
all in a fixed state, and in just the right mode.
And these F-16ABs have been flying for more than 20 years,
and many parts have never been opened and moved.
These things are not only difficult to open,
but also difficult to disassemble.
These things need to be solved one by one.
Those that need to be replaced need to be replaced,
and those that need to be added need to be added.
Even if it is completed, it will be difficult to assemble,
and there may be problems that cannot be assembled.
It's easy to disassemble, but difficult to assemble.
The Hong Kong staff of Hong Kong Airways said
that an F-16AB needs to be upgraded to F-16V,
and 37 stations need to be passed.
From the installation of the propeller,
to the replacement of the AN-APG-83 missile,
to the replacement of the fuselage,
to the upgrade of some fuselage frames,
to the upgrade of the vertical tail wing and base structure,
to the upgrade of the original Lick-Zone aircraft, etc.
Each station has a different execution program.
The previous program was completed and received the inspection of the management staff,
and only after signing the contract can it enter the next station.
The whole process is like a battleground game.
According to the field statistics,
the entire F-16AB participated in more than 1,000 people
throughout the whole century,
and started a 24-hour operation with three buttons,
and almost did not have a day off throughout the year.
The peak period was only three days off
during the Lunar New Year.
It's really not easy.
Finally, a few words of criticism.
Taiwan's general election is approaching,
and the CCP has been running for re-election.
Fake news,
wind, etc.
Taiwan Information and Environment Research Center
Asia released the CCP official account
July-September this year.
The most popular Taiwanese commentator,
Pan Banchen,
pointed out that China is using
some of Taiwan's commentators' remarks
to create a very biased image of Taiwan,
which is very in line with the interests of the CCP.
One of them is the US-China theory,
the US-China theory,
which is against the Japanese-issued Fukuda nuclear treatment water,
which is in conflict with China's Huawei,
the Taiwan Strait situation, and the air war,
and has become a weapon of public opinion
that the CCP can't control.
The IOC said,
don't underestimate these commentators,
their influence is greater than the president.
Okay,
that's it for today's
New Cold War News,
Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait.
