Zip-line Tour of the Redwood Forest! Ballinger Family Camp 2023 (day 5)

I am on the canopy tour for the first time ever it's just a whole bunch of zip lines I am literally so excited I decided to give Parker his own camera today so we'll see see what we get from [Music] this good morning everyone Welcome to our fourth full day here in the Redwood Forest we have been having such a great time today is a special day because we are going on the zipline tour the zipline tour is a series of I think six or seven zip lines that go through the Redwoods and sequoia trees it's a really high up it's super fun every year when a kid gets old enough I bring them along with us on the zipline tour cuz you have to be a certain age so Bailey has done this twice because she did it when she was old enough and when Jacob was old enough Jacob's done it once and now Jacob Bailey and Parker this year gets to experience the zipline tour I am super excited about it it feels like flying and it feels like flying like have you seen the movie Star Wars where they're zipping around on those like Speeder Bike things in the air and they're going through all the trees that's what it feels like like it feels like that scene from that movie in real life it's awesome but first the kids have Day Camp so they're going to get ready to go to day camp I think Luke is doing water day today so he's going to be playing with water so he's all dressed up ready for that yeah it's just going to be an awesome day I'm so excited to be here I feel so good when I'm out here in the forest and um it's been a fantastic trip so far so thank you for joining us today and uh and let's let's get started where'd you get for breakfast today [Music] I'm [Music] all right we are now on route as they say to the zipline tour it will be Parker's first time ever on these zip lines how are you feeling about this you are you nervous you are nervous I'm very excited you're just excited yes you should be cuz it's great I'm very excited I think this is one of my favorite tree activities second favorite tree activity uh just hiking through the trees third favorite dad third favorite uh probably the small ropes course what's your baby why not the big ropes course what's your fifth because because okay the the little ropes course is like just chill like you're just up in the trees you're the elements aren't that difficult you're just hanging out you have a path that you're going through yeah you got to you've got to predetermined path and you're just there so easy it is easy that's that's part of what I like about it I don't like it I've been challenged and now going on the easier one is just like it's just icing on the cake you know icing on the cake what what on the cake of of trees what's your fifth favorite you can skip the fourth one well my fourth favorite would probably be the fifth one your fifth the other ropes course the the larger one what's the fifth then Fifth Fifth probably uh archery in the in the trees anyway there is a scavenger hunt that happens while you're here and you have to find numbers that are hidden all around and one of those numbers is on this path that we're on currently so instead of taking the regular road to get to where we're going we are taking this nice scenic route through this amazing forest and we're going to look for one of the numbers that they need I'm going to go into more detail on that probably tomorrow cuz I think we're going to find all the numbers by tomorrow and uh I'll explain all of that but for today just know that we are in a beautiful Forest this is the best way to get where we're [Music] going [Music] it's hard to see through the trees but there is the ropes course that we went on a few days ago and apparently if we stand on this platform we should be able to see a number that one that platform different platforms on the zipline I asked and he said over here well I found it oh that is a sneaky one that is deep in there that is a cool little hiding spot though I've never seen that before yeah it is all right Parker how you feeling buddy looking good feeling good ready to go open it you'll notice you'll notice that you don't have clip itss this time yeah that that's because they're going to do all the clipping and unclipping you're not doing any clipping and unclipping who hold on you don't need to that's your favorite part okay should we cancel yes you don't want to do it no it's okay your favorite part is going to be zip lining I promise you put your hand on there you guys ready to go on the course yeah where does this rank for you in terms of things at Family Camp pretty high pretty high up there pretty high up there Parker's doing Ground School this is a practice zip line one hand goes on top one hand on the screen step down that one step down you're good to [Music] go hand off all right hand off all right who's next hand up all right who's next how you feeling about everything you're good to go I'm excited all right Parker we're all hooked up together we're up on the first platform do you see the first zip line there it is it's right there so it's hard to see but it's here and it goes to that platform way over there I am on the canopy tour for the first time ever it's just a whole bunch of zip lines six zip lines uh seven zip lines if you're counting the baby zip line I am literally so excited we decided to give Parker his own camera today so we'll see see what we get from [Music] this yay I did it nice that was [Music] fun how'd that feel good I think Jacob's next yeah hang on hand up and then go ahead face me how was it Bailey goes that tree is tra treacy or Tracy and that one is our tallest tree it's also our youngest tree which is really cool that one right there yeah that tree is about 270 ft roughly just casual chatting to the camera as he's going over the Redwood Forest I'm looking down the challenge is to look down and find Shad out on mine [Music] so yay I did it I'll see you guys on the big tree over there okay good bye [Music] bye [Music] so we're currently on a tree that is as tall as the Statue of Liberty minus the flame but including the pedestal that it's on it's a pretty tall tree this we [Music] can nice landing Jacob Here Comes ba [Music] I love how Bailey always looks like she's having fun on the zipline what do you talk about she's always having fun on the zipline or has a bug in her eye it's my mistake are you okay did you get like a bug or something probably a bug probably a bug I love this one cuz it dips under this tree and you can't see the other platform that you're going to land at you see how you can't see where you're going to go you just disappear into the trees it's awesome here we go into the trees am I good to go by okay great great just want to check before I did [Music] it it's weird being over here not seeing my kids anymore oh yeah totally just can't see them okay so I'm supposed to to walk the plank so I'm just going to go like that down and now I doall oh my gosh I'm so [Music] fast nice that was so fun that's good that one is my favorite one H that one is my favorite one even though I haven't gotten ones favorite one so far yes favorite one that's fair to say that's fair to say okay I got to tell the camera I said that so that one was like back one so just know hand off Co you didn't walk the plank I did not how you see did you Cannonball yeah I do Cannonball oh nice the guides are giving us little challenges to do and on that one they said we could walk the plank which is just walking until you drop and or do a cannonball where where once you get off the plank you tuck your feet in and you actually go a lot faster cuz there's less drag when your feet are tucked in drag or Dr I think it's drag I think when when you're talking about wind resistance it's drag I did both you did both yeah you walked the plank and then did a cannonball yeah wow very piratey yeah here comes Bailey Cannonball oh that is a cannonball I love it bu in her eye again was in was that happiness or a bug in your eye again it's happiness oh nice's going to do the trust fall oh there she goes okay you go next your arms are only on for emotional support he didn't do it that wasn't very em Prett good I'm doing the trust fall and you might just see the sky so if you do I'm very sorry you're good to go bro so I Ste down to this one I I don't think you'll be able to I think you should just go from there do the fall okay [Music] fall now I [Music] fall I'm doing the trust fall as well here we go don't break it I think [Music] that's okay here we go sure enough as soon as I get on the platform they were like did you do the trust fall so I'm glad I did it cuz I was thinking about just doing it we're not sure that he did it we have to check the footage and even if he does check the footage we don't know it could have been it could have been a green screen Jacob did you do the trust fall yes I did all right to get to the next zip line we have to go on this awesome Indiana Jones Bridge the river going down below us it's very creaky very awesome on other side you can gra but come back here for a moment [Music] that was super fun so I just went on that bridge right there um and now I'm going on the next siip line so see you in the air all right this is the longest one so I'm about okay I'm going to give you a little push okay okay so you can just go ahead and sit down kick your feet out you ready 3 2 yay [Music] wow [Music] that was he'll have your head go on the other side here we go and you can step right over here that was fun is that your new favorite or the push you got to push yeah yeah I'm tiny I got to push that's good you made it all the way here you didn't stop halfway through that's good because I got a push and I tuck I'm going to tuck and I kept my hand on the top so that I [Applause] didn't hand off who do we have here we got Jacob Jacob what luckily Bailey Smiles on everyone yeah but she might have her eyes closed there's no picture no pictur no I think it was turned around for the picture no there's no picture on this one but he pressed the button oh did he trick you the button the button for the bridge yeah and you can step right over here gotta that's our last one here we go I'm suppos to Poe for a camera did it I post for the camera here we go last one finished okay so this is my last one I'm so excited I just can't hide it [Music] Stu up nice how was that was [Music] hard that was amazing oh that was a good pose that was a good one b face when you knew it was coming your face was that was really fun I loved it and now I'm going to take Camp so I'm so excited hi let's talk about what we learned today we learned that Bailey's always having fun on the zipline or at least she's catching bugs with her eyes we learned that Parker does the zipline in the most piratey way possible and finally we learned that the one thing that Jacob doesn't trust is that I did a trust fall thanks for watching everyone
