where's the mommy toil I don't know
Mommy toil is sweeping maybe I've always
loved animals and been into nature since
I was a little kid oh yeah Commodore is
a fan favorite I just love how different
they are from us ready to come out girl
they have so many unique adaptations
they can survive all over the world here
at Churchville Nature Center it's a
great place for kids to kind of get a
first look at uh animals they wouldn't
see in the wild this here is uh a
western hognose snake Okay we have a
large collection of reptiles snakes um
Turtles and we also have a collection of
invertebrates as well this is a
Vietnamese walking stick um and we have
blue the blue tongue skink who is almost
30 years old so she's older than me want
to stick your tongue out girl there it
goes there it goes again we have a lot
of Taxidermy displays and mounts um of a
variety of wildlife both local and uh
from around the world it's basically
like a huge I spy if you're a first-time
visitor it can kind of be like ooo you
know you got something looking at me you
go face to face with you know a mountain
line which you know aren't native to
Pennsylvania anymore so that's kind of a
unique thing to see you know they're all
safe they won't get you as much as I'd
love to pet them we can't they can show
a glimpse of what uh these animals were
like when they were
alive no matter what the season is
there's always something to look at
outside and each day is
different we are celebrating our 60th
anniversary uh we open in June 1st 1964
but it started before that with a group
of uh uh community members volunteers
who worked with the parks and rec Bo to
say they wanted a park and then here we
are uh these are going to be a spice
push butterflies a pretty beautiful blue
tal Nature Center is a uh preserve it's
not necessarily just a park so it is
going to be here for many many years to
come watch your fingers the trails at
Churchville Nature Center are open
sunrise to sunset and you're able to
visit the visitors center from Tuesday
to Sunday from 10:00 to 5:00 and we hope
