How I Journal Hello, This is Ara :) In this time, I made a video about how I journal Many people asked me about how I journal Actually, I also didn't have a chance to think about it When I thought about it, I found my own routine So I'm going to talk about that with you :) The style of my journal is very different from now I started journal from March last year I remember it was my birthday when I started journaling This is the first page I made My first diary was a 6 ring binder with dates on it I used to decorate on Monthly and Weekly pages My journal skill is better now, but I had more passion at that time But only with passion without experience, I didn't even know the style that I want So, I didn't know what kind of stationery to buy I sometimes regret buying things that I don't need The first thing I want to say to those who want to journal is... to look at a lot of journal pictures you want to do Maybe there are many kinds of journaling Junk journal, vintage, bullet journal, decorating with cute stickers... So on Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, look at many examples and try to make your favorite styles then you'll be able to start easily I've changed a lot from my early diary decoration style In the beginning, I used a lot of stickers These days, I'm trying to draw and use calligraphy After many trials and errors, I found my current style I don't think it's complete yet But if you keep doing it, at some point, you'll find out what your style is Everything needs time :) To show you the diary that I've written so far At first, I was using this 6 ring binder and I bought a new blank notebook I wanted to use a notebook without Monthly or Weekly pages I bought this because the 6 ring binder is uncomfortable when writing I tried many different styles on this notebook. Haha While using this note, I bought another one I went to Esther Bunny's pop-up store and bought it on impulse I just made up my mind that I don't have such a cute and big size one But I guess the A5 size 6 ring binder didn't fit me well It took too long to decorate and the paper was thin, so it was hard to color I ended up using it and kept it on my bookshelf... If you're novice to journal Small notes will be easier than big ones Small ones are easy to plan and spread Because I'm an impulsive person I bought this green 6 ring binder from Taobao... I take out the pages that I decorated and store them separately I've been writing this diary for a long time I don't have time to show you all of this, so I'll make it a flip through video next time These are the two most recent notes I bought This pink 6 ring binder is also from Taobao at the same store of green one I started using this binder from January I used it for a couple of period however I wanted to watercolor in my diary, I found a notebook that's okay to paint on it This Reverie journal was found on Instagram It has paper that didn't show on the back even if I painted on it So I can draw easily and use paint But this is also A5 size When I want to do quick journal or put on thick lace, I use A6 6 ring binder Look at the difference in size Now I'll tell you how I journal while I'm doing it myself I tend to choose a theme or color before journaling Today's theme is "What I did on last weekends" I went to IKEA over the weekend, so I'll draw and paste what I shopped there Next, decide the color or spread and take out my stationery items This coffee beans bag is mint, so I chose mint and orange I'm not going to use all of them, but I find what I think suits on the page I put them on my desk It takes long time to find items and spread them Sometimes I don't use half of what I took out I can't check my all stationery, so I usually take them out as colors After taking it out, I think about the layout I'll cut this on the right side I'm going to write a big letter in the upper left corner Add this car, too Start journal now I'm going to write September 4th I use glue stick and tape runner alternately use glue stick on thick paper tape runner on thin paper, lace and etc. Tape runners stick well but it's expensive LOL The coffee bag from IKEA is pretty, so I'm going to stick it on I used tape runner on this paper, too. I was afraid paper would wrinkle Since I went to IKEA, I'll put on furniture stickers And then I sketched a bit I'm drawing a cat tunnel that I bought from IKEA These are the itmes I bought I'll put on stickers that resemble Chuchu and Coco I drew myself shopping while looking at the shopping list I'll use this sticker instead of IKEA shopping bag. Haha I wrote the explanation next to the drawing Did I get all I want? The chewy chocolate cake that I ate I bought a steel vase that looks like this I wanted to buy an artificial flower bouquet, but it was sold out, so I couldn't buy it and only bought a vase... I keep a diary now I usually write a diary at the end of journal At the initial stage, I think about where to write in my diary It's done!
