In my new novel, Lady in the Window, my main character, Kate Grace, loves to frequent the
Plumeria Cafe, located in the center of town in beautiful Hanalei, Kauai.
This drink recipe is one of the many yummy ones the cafe in my book serves, and here's
why it's great for breakfast.
A great way to start the day is with a smoothie, a smoothie that has lots of fresh fruits and
vegetables.
As a matter of fact, it's recommended that we get at least five servings or more of fresh
fruits and vegetables a day.
So that's a lot, but when you make a smoothie, it is just fabulous because you can blend
it all together, lots of fruits and vegetables, and it tastes delicious.
So I add in some almond milk or coconut milk, whatever you like, a cup, a cup or two, it
depends how much fruit smoothie you want.
Now, I already had some fresh strawberries and fresh apple and blueberries and lots of
yummy delicious grapes, and I'll just add that in, and I also have yummy pineapple and
cantaloupe.
Yum.
Now a great simple ingredient, pumpkin spice or cinnamon, just a few dashes.
I also have frozen banana, just gives it a nice texture.
The banana is full of potassium and lots of other good nutrients.
I add in my favorite protein powder.
These are a beautiful selection of greens.
Now they're called power greens, chard, broccoli leaves.
We also have some spinach here.
Now put a few ice cubes because I like it nice and cold and thick.
Now here we go.
Get ready for some noise.
Now the taste test.
I'm going to pour it into my glass.
Oh, look at that.
Very thick.
Cheers.
Oh, it's so good.
You can have it for breakfast.
I also love it for a snack or even just a delicious healthy dessert.
