The MSC Cruise Yacht Club Experience: Is It Worth It?

Tim and Felicia were outside the exclusive Yacht Club restaurants very exclusive here very exciting I almost feel like I should wear a tuxedo every day don't you so anyway we want to talk about the yacht club experience on MSC which is their highest class they have a couple different classes of Suites but this is the top dog allows you access to pretty much everywhere on the ship right it does the yacht club experience here is about half the cost is the sweet experience on like Royal Caribbean or Carnival yes I feel like I feel like you get a lot more here you get a lot more for your money all right so you've got some organized questions because I'm always running off on tangent so hit me felish all right let's talk about embarkation yes how was it when we got to the port and got on the ship now this time we went to Miami which was a cluster F because uh somebody tripped a circuit and I knew it was a circle because the fan went off top and I'm like look you busted a certain no no it's not a problem no there's a language problem obviously I said you've tripped a circuit find the electrician flip the circuit back oh no no we figured it out 30 minutes later they reset the circuit yeah so there was normally it's smooth you get on you're supposed to bypass everybody go right through security and end up in this little room where they assign several groups to a butler who escorts you passed everybody onto the ship but since there was such a mess up there and they escort you on they bring it up in an elevator and they bring you directly into the yacht club lounge or you can have a drink chill out while everybody else is getting on board and then we were escorted by a butler through the crowd and into an elevator up to the yacht club deck right on right yeah and actually our rooms were ready when we got on because I was so late at that point so that's right it was what else yeah all right talk about the room then the room are a little bit bigger these are sweet classrooms they do have inside rooms actually inside Suites which are a little bit bigger than their typical inside rooms but our room is nice and spacious um nice bathroom where you can actually move around in you can actually walk around the bed and there's a little sitting area and a pretty decent sized balcony as well I think it's called this is a grand Suite that we have not their top level they have the super killer Royal Suite owner Suite or something in the corners Brazilian family guy that's right like five people in there but it's got plenty of room for all that craziness but what do you think of the storage in the room oh my gosh there is so much there's a walk-in closet in this thing in addition to two of the other closets that are there there's plenty of drawer space lots of hangers lots of hanging space um plenty of Plenty there's no issues with storage on this road it's really nice it was too much I didn't know I can't find things there's so much storage in here yeah it's crazy agreed so loving the room and uh what else all right um so because we're in yacht club we have a butler so talk about the butler all right Butler is a shared Butler our Butler probably has five ten I think he has a hundred rooms because we've only seen him about three times since we've been on so don't count on having a personal Butler like you see in the movies or the Richie Rich cartoons it's not that it's not a personal one-on-one kind of a situation the butler can do certain things for you ask for an additional chair I think we asked our room attendant for that was there a butler no that was our Butler we asked for a lounge chair in addition to the two chairs and and stool that were there that was there that same day that was nice that was very nice and they will set up your mini bar your mini bars included in Yacht Club so you can just pull stuff out of there I think you drink as much as you want there he brought a bottle that's right and they bring a bottle of liquor they brought us that they can get uh vodka gin or whiskey or whiskey and I'm like well can you do Tequila No cannot do tequila can I trade this in so I pretty much gave my bottle of vodka back to the bar because I didn't want it right but that's nice too it's an unlimited drink package as part of the yacht club experience and they don't even ring you in at the bar here as many drinks as you want whenever you want the bar opens 6 a.m I think it's open till two in the morning I haven't made it that long and that's the bar in Yacht Club in yacht club which is rarely a line there's never a line in here all the other bars are crazy you're gonna have to wait like 15-20 minutes for drinks and some of the other bars here you walk up it's already sitting I don't know how they do it I mean they see a lot of people come through these cruise ships yeah but that first time we ordered a drink that we walked in next time he's like points at you like yeah and you just shake your head and magically appears to drinks you ordered previously and 24-hour room service too we ever order a custom Pizza the way we wanted it the Boom Service menu is pretty limited but you get that 24 hours a day Andrew Butler will deliver that him or one of his assistants will deliver that to you personally so we did that for dinner one night which is real nice right what else all right so um because we're in yacht club we have access to the concierge where we can go and ask lots of questions get help whatever the case may be we don't have to go down to guest services with everybody else we have our own personal that is open 24 hours a day that's right so the normies have to go to the Internet desk of the internet they want to go to the Excursion desk if you want to book an Excursion then you need to go to the cashier desk what's nice about the concierge they do everything right there they can do everything that everybody else can do that's one place rarely align there's three stations there if there's ever a line they call somebody in the backup so they've done a great job there but it is nice again the language barrier we tried to book some extra versions through there there was a disconnect between the excursions the actual excursions and talking to the concierge right so we tried to book um the lighthouse tour um at the concierge desk and we checked through four times and every time we checked she said she'd get back to us never got back to us right it's always booked but yet when we got to Ocean K and we actually went to the lighthouse and we talked to the person she's running the tour oh yeah I'm signing up here we'll just charge it to your room yeah so someone's not talking somebody doesn't want to talk or they don't have the mechanism for those two departments to get together and it's a communicates one of the Fatal communication problems with MSC cruises so we were bottom line we were able to get our tour but we had to go find it ourselves so we actually went to the tour to the lighthouse signed up there and everything was great at that point but the concierge failed even though she can do excursions they don't seem to really effective with it but for the most part they can handle most of you they handled our internet fine they did book our our reservations that's right for the restaurant they did as a matter of fact we booked a future cruise we did we did but you can do in Yacht Club and there's some perks you get some additional onboard credits and some cancellation uh benefits if you need to change it or whatever right all right talk about the um the food everybody complains about MSC food do you have a problem with MSC food I do not have a problem with them I think it's been pretty good and now we've not only eaten in the exclusive exclusive MC yacht restaurant which is kind of foofy and they rename all their stuff so you really have to Google okay I want truffles with us cargo what is that oh snails and mushrooms right but we haven't only eaten here we've eaten we went to the main Buffet area one day we have been to some of the specialty restaurants and overall everything on the ship has been good just as good as Royal Caribbean or Carnival right absolutely and actually I thought the steakhouse chops on Royal Caribbean was better than the steakhouse this butcher's cut place here yeah I thought they had more flavor it was a little more plant so I agree a lot of people say there's some of their steaks and stuff are bland but you had a little salt and pepper on it it's fine you know what I mean no I thought it was really good I really enjoyed Ola yeah the taco Cantina yeah their Mexican food is pretty good very well seasoned oh friendly people there the uh the sushi place oh yeah that is so cool you're on the conveyor like a magnetic conveyor belt and just grab the sushi you want they do have cooked meals there that's so cool because if you get squeamish about eating fish raw fish it's kind of cool it was kind of neat to see that one uh obscenely priced either no it wasn't it is a la carte not included in your I mean some of these specialty restaurants are going to cost you 59 49 99 bucks per person to do some of these things so make sure you book those all right actually don't book them in advance book them on the ship because there's that disconnect between the internet and the ship itself what else we talked about bar service talking about Yacht Club here on MSC cruises bar club bar service incredible nobody ever here no problems there and you can get those drinks anywhere on the ship anything up to 16 to verify that's right a lot of people are saying on Facebook these ninnies on Facebook [Music] actually that was the old policy if you order a drink and it's above the sixteen dollars whatever your drink package some drink packages level up ten dollars exactly so if you order a drink that's above that so it's maybe it's 18 in your drink package goes to 16 you pay the difference two dollars verified that with several bartenders throughout the ship I actually ordered one I ordered a real nice Scotch was 18 my drink package capped out of 16 I saw two dollars perfect so yes that's what's going on you Facebook minis have no idea what you're talking about what else all right so last but not least we did a little nice reception here a little private reception for Yacht Club people and the captain was here and he's very friendly very personal but pretty good English dude yeah he had a sense of humor the whole step when he introduced the whole stuff Cruise director uh Italian cruise director who's kind of you know she's a little larger than life let's just say that she's interesting then the captain took time after the the little reception took pictures with everybody which was very nice so Captain is available for people who are not in the yacht club as well there were other there were other places on the ship throughout the the time we're here that the captain was in various places and people could meet them but we actually had him to ourselves you see him walking through the hallway some we saw him this morning on the way here he's very personal that's right yes so Yacht Club's a great experience and for what you're paying here again I think we paid about 7 500 bucks that included our included our cruise fees the taxes port fees all that whatever it is 7 500 for seven days yeah in a real a beautiful Suite so you can't do that on Royal Caribbean for less than what thirteen fourteen thousand dollars now yeah they're they're out of their mind lost their mind so yeah if you're looking for a sweet experience with really good service excellent food uh beautiful rooms this is a fairly new ship I think it just starts sailing this is MSC Seascape Seascape and it started I think last November 2022. that's right so it's a fairly still looks pretty clean pretty new here and uh yeah beautiful ship uh excellent experience yeah I highly recommend it again we did book another one we're bringing our kids uh this September that's right so we have like a block of five rooms that we're gonna take over the ship so uh if you have any be back on we do like them we're going back on Seaside out of Port Canaveral this is Seascape and it goes out of Miami and I probably wouldn't drive to Miami again I hated that port Miami is a very busy for it no doubt it's ugly it's dirty it's now I thought Port Canaveral was nasty but Canaveral was that but it's got but the view once you got on the ship the view of Miami was yeah breathtaking
