in the interest of day Korum I won't
laugh out loud here with some of the
things I've heard today but um I am
definitely laughing a little bit inside
because um you know it brings me back to
the days when I had children at home and
uh they would go he meant to do that
this is what he meant to do and I'd go
don't you ascribe false motives to your
sibling that's not nice well I'm hearing
that very Behavior here on the floor of
the assembly uh Mr Speaker and um it's
sadly
comical
um contrary to what you've heard today
this is not red meat for the Bas um I
happen to be a legislator that works in
my community whether you have a d an R
an i or nothing after your name and um
interestingly this whole curriculum
transparency Bill really did come up
during covid and my own School
District um started working on um making
things you know getting ready to put
them on their website to make it more
public because they knew that this was
coming and actually it's helpful for the
schools because then they don't have to
mess with a lot of this parents can go
right online and see what's being taught
in the classroom I think it also uh does
a lot to um really remove myth of what
is being taught in the class room you
know uh light is the best disinfectant
isn't it um
so to me this is is uh you know these
accusations are just rather silly to me
this is a way to rebuild that bridge of
trust between parents and schools
because we do want parents and schools
working together it's not targeted at
Public Schools I'm a public school
graduate as are all my children and my
spouse we support our public schools and
as a matter of fact I just saw the
curriculum director yesterday in the
grocery store after school and he thank
me for all I was doing here in the
legislature um this should be something
simple so that parents can see what's
going on in the classroom and work
together with the schools instead of
this continued fractiousness Mr Speaker
