Rep Gustafson on Allowing Minors to Own a Business

when I think about this bill I was thinking about this morning actually driving in and for all my uh great colleagues here that grew up with Cartoon Network the Millennials the Gen Z they're going to remember a show and that show is Ed Ed and Eddie and the whole scheme to the show Mr Speaker is about three young boys constantly trying to find a way to raise money so they can buy their beloved job Breakers and so as I think about this bill I think about the impact of that show as well as on myself as a young entrepreneur myself I love setting up a little shop at the end of my driveway trying to sell to any of my neighbors and knowing that I obviously had an advantage of having a private property that I could set up and do that but some kids across their state don't have that opportunity they live in apartments they live in cities and it's hard to set up the opportunity to really reflects their ability to see if they can run a business be entrepreneurs of course so this bill simply enough allows them to take that next step in the Journey of starting their own business getting them really the hands-on experience it's going to take because our state's open for business Mr Speaker and so the vote is green
