good morning these Costco noodles incredible so today grabbed some breakfast and then heading to the airport heading off to Japan for a couple weeks and while I'm there I'm going to be joining a food tour that's curated by the city of Tokyo and they put together a list of these really traditional restaurants some of which been operating for over 200 years and these are places I never been to the alak carum looks amazing barbecue sliced beef Rice Bowl special Tatu flavor miso wamen food looks pretty good it's a sear tuna salad a bunch of veg quill IGS cheese tomatoes olives and then honey mustard for the salad so there's sear tuna and a little tuna salad not about try be tender that is really really tender there's a blue cheese sauce on the bottom which is fantastic blue cheese and steak the most ultimate combo it's very good finally desserve strawberry pinotta it's probably the densest heaviest panacotta I've ever had what I love about this fight is their expansive alart order anything you want at any time in so I got some Len barbecue beef over rice seared miso Cog miso soup some Japanese pickles this looks better than a lunch I just had that Ramen is just piping hot we thought the mles would be a little soggy it's actually got a really nice Che CH it with some of the pickles those actually pretty Dar good usually airplane Ramen it just instant pack and it also just tastes like much higher quality especially that broth very rich and creamy this so coton a little sweet not that this is a peaking portion of a barbecue beef ball there's one leaves a little tougher best in care 100% thisam this is the final meal before landing this is an international menu item it's chicken with gravy potatoes broccoli Rob carrots mushrooms and also a little blo cream cheese bagel actually the cream Feast is good chicken's okay a little on the dry end overall food on this flight I love it I love you can order as much as you want the anytime menu is so extensive I don't think this was the case last time I flew J open this Ramen is so good had to get a second bow before we land I love the amenities at Asian hotels com razor blade toothpaste toothbrush hair band skin care set so I'm in Japan for about a week for a guide at food tour going to spend a few days in Tokyo then going to the surrounding cities and all that starts tomorrow night I just want to talk about the J business class for minute here this particular flly on the 787 the seats were pretty tight I think it was the tiest J business class ever been on but the food I don't know when they started doing this concept where you can order whatever you want as much as you want whenever you want it it's amazing the set lunch was delicious but the anytime Foods especially the ramen and this is a meatless Ramen I'm talking about amazing the fish was good the steak was good I loved how friendly the flight attendants were at one point I ordered three items didn't even blink also when I ordered the bagel they were like you sure you want that it's a little small it's not even that much food this is one of the few flies I've been on where they actively encouraged you to order more food which I very much appreciate it also the goody bag is great phone stand USB cord always welcome to me that's much better than getting a lip balm so right now it's about 7:00 p.m. it's about 2: a.m. back home I'm going to unpack and either crash or go find something to eat or maybe crash and then go find something to eat see you in a bit good morning it's about 6:30 in the morning I wanted to go out and grab something to eat and look at this there's a 7-Eleven there and then right there another 7-Eleven I'm going to go ahead and call that a sign every time I enter a 7-Eleven in Japan it's like it's like I'm home there's so many new food items I hav't tried egg and tuna sandwich oh look at this pork ache onion mushroom and oyster sauce and chili oil W this instant needle looks intense never tried any one of these before these are all 7-Eleven premium dunun noodles well there was no place to sit in either 7vs luckily there's like a little office part with seating and some standing tables all right this looks really good slices of what looks like pork belly gooey eggs and onion oh I should have got some rice with this I thought there was rice in here there's not this actually looks like something I would go really good with rice I love this so much I don't eat this all the time this is some feel good comfort food right here onions eggs woodier melting your mouth pork belly that's just covered in chili oil this dish is so so good get it with my sandwich usually um you only find half tuna half egg sandwiches as lawon but now 711 has it too oh I missed this so much and yeah it goes very well with the egg and wood ear in pork all right let's check out this Ramen I noticed there's a lot of different selection of 7eleven Select Ramen now and tundaman seems to be a very popular flavor although this thing didn't have a marker on where where to fill up the water so I just kind of guessed the smells really good this thing definitely passes the smell test this is delicious noodles are chew is pretty rich nice peanuty flavor good amount of heat and numbness this thing will warm you right up I love how it says big it's not exaggerating there's a lot of noodles in here usually instant noodles probably takes me like four or five slurps I've taken some pretty big slurps so far I still have at least half left oh this is so good and this is all the rage nowadays the aloe yogurt drink yeah I agree this is great wow I love Japanese yogurt I love aloe now you can get both I mean it's very thick this is not a refreshing drink but this what make you very very happy you know my Cuisine I didn't know this it's just Cuisine that's based on the tradition of the surrounding area here in Tokyo and this tradition passed around for hundreds of years if you don't know all the best ingredients in Japan to this day all comes through Tokyo first so all the ingredients and EO my cooking e my Cuisine it's all using the freshest and best ingredients in all Japan and today I am at a 230 yearold unagi restaurant y restaurant this family has been doing y need my style for 230 Years first dish eel spine fish crackers one of my favorite things and this thing is just fried to a perfect crunchy crisp with the delicious mommy fish flavor first hot dishes here this is unagi tamago so unagi stuff inside the tamago this looks like a very fluffy fluffy tomago that's like biting into an eggy Cloud this thing is so soft and fluffy and inside it just melts in your mouth Umami this is one of the craziest Tomos I've ever had I mean just the insane amount of umami that's inside incredible this is something I've never had before unagi liver this is a lot of liver on the skew I mean I assume each unagi liver is probably this big this seems like there's like 50 wagi worth of liers on the skewer wa this is freaking incredible sweet really Smokey actually it doesn't really have any organic flavor very clean but has that nice brainish wow little bit of the organy aftertaste which I actually like texture is very soft some parts of it a little chewy he tastes so much of the seafood Mani in deliver this is absolutely incredible love this all right got my eel box this looks first of all so beautiful it's just glistening this golden Sheen as you're picking it apart you're already smelling that beautiful fire that they cooked this over and the sweet kabayaki sauce that's on top of the Y this is absolutely incredible eating this just kind of puts you like almost like a culinary trans the flavors that you're tasting it's so rich and deep hint of sweetness a ton of smokey flavor eels is so soft there's still little bones inside that you can just go ahead and eat because those are very delicate as well the texture is just it's almost like the cotton candy of fish when the yel touches your tongue it just dissolves the rice soaks up some of that delicious sauce and it's a perfect compliment because the Y is just fantastically flavorful I mean it's just pure flavor Essence that's how it is y is such a delicate fish it's easy to overcook it or undercook it and the way they do it is just absolutely masterful just a perfect texture you pick it up put it on your tongue and just let it dissolve barely need to chew this so I never actually added any pepper corn on my uh eel before but they said this is a really common way little numbness on the T oh that goes really really good with that sweet fatty e and that's the other thing this thing is so fatty and nice after the E Goes Down the Hatch you get this really nice silky layer fat that's left on your tongue over 200 years of tradition this thing is pure perfection this is super so good too such a wonderful KP flavor so I'm here for the crab Ramen they also have a crab fried rice think I'm going to try that too actually he just recommended to get a katsu yeah let's do that so this one is like part Isiah a part Robin shop and they only open from 900 p.m. to 6: a.m. and I got here as soon as they opened and I got two of their most popular dishes the first is Connie Ramen which is a crab Ramen sitting in a thick eggy broth with a couple of snowcrab shells on top first things first eimas this is such a fun touch with the crab shells on top inside this is Japanese snow crowd so wavy medium thick noodles and the broth is very rich and eggy as well my first taste of ramen whenever I'm in Japan always gets me so excited oh smells so good m awesome the broth is a mix of chicken and crab little sweet very very rich extremely deep flavors and the Egg adds to the richness and the creaminess of this broth the thick broth clings to the needles very very well it's thick it's flavorful a little sweetness from the crab and this thing is just pack full Umami flavor that tastes a little alcohol in the bro and I asked him he puts sake in the broth which gives it that nice X Factor it's definitely one of the most unique bow Ramen I had in Tokyo that's very nice their second most popular dish katsu over gooey eggs oh the KATU is nice and crispy wo this consum is absolutely out of this world egg is so fluffy the sauce is a little sweet but the story here is the concert I might like this more than a Ramen the lightful pork hotu so crunchy on the outside the pork is Juicy the Ty sauce is sweet it's Smokey it goes perfect with the rice oh this is absolutely phenomenal it's such a little on a swimming place it doesn't see that many people there's only one person running it so you walk in you go to the vending machine the owner is so nice he let you order from the table because obviously I can't read the words on the vending machine and the flu is just ridiculous a great option if you're having a lay night out or jetl and can't sleep at 3:00 in the morning 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. come here and get some Ramen definitely get a Kazu though
