Local 10 News Weather Authority Meteorologist Julie Durda's 6 a.m. forecast said Monday afternoon rain expected.
damage is already done with all the rain that we've been dealing with. We
have a flood advisory now in effect for those areas that were under the severe
thunderstorm warning. Also, we had winds gusting well into the forties and
fifties. We also had hail reported right over little Havana. We've got a
lot of lightning out there finally starting to push offshore. But again,
we still have plenty of rain still expected. Now, as we take a look at the
radar, we now just have the flood advisory that is in effect until this
morning around 7 55. Now that flood advisory was sparked because of the
severe thunderstorm warning that was over the same areas of Miami Dade and
parts of Broward County for much of the about 5 30 to about 5 55. Now the line
of thunderstorms has pushed offshore. But again, it's all about the rain
still out there. We still have some lightning indicated on my daughter
radar right over 4 41 I 95 a one a.m. U. S. One. But again, it's just about
the downpours that we're dealing with right now. Much in the way of the
precipitation is starting to push in towards Miami Dade, northern Miami Dade
and Broward County and starting to push offshore. So again, now we'll just
have a shield of storms. The severe weather threat has diminished because
we lost the dynamics for that severe weather threat that was around from 5
35 until about 5 55 this morning for much of Miami Dade. And for you in that
area, I know you heard the rumbles of thunder and you definitely had to deal
with those winds gusting. But now we just have some downpours over Dural
and towards Miami to this game as well. So this rain will continue to push
offshore. We will see improvements in the forecast for a few hours before
another round of rain is expected in our forecast later this afternoon.
