Paradise in The PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 2 Days in Siquijor (BEST THINGS TO DO)

Welcome to Siquijor. Like this is just like an ideal tropical paradise. Paradise in the Philippines. Before arriving in Siquijor, we spent the last few days in Manila exploring the city and trying some very unique foods. It is chicken intestine. From there, we took a short one-hour flight from Manila to Dumaguete where we messed around a little bit and took a rough 45-minute ferry to the island. Looks like it's going to be a little bit rocky. Luckily, this is a very short ferry because we really were not prepared for how rough this was actually going to be. But after a really fun jeepney ride with Sammy and Tommy, we're finally ready to enjoy Siquijor Island for the next two days. Ready to rock? Oh yeah, ready to party. Well, it is 7 a.m. We're just about to leave our hotel. We've basically just been staying in this area called Tubod. And actually, our hotel that we're staying at has scooters for us to rent. They're about $6 per day to rent them and the gas is super cheap. So we're really excited because I love just riding scooters literally anywhere. It's the best way to get around. So fun. Morning. Good morning. How are we doing? Good. Y'all sleep good? Yeah, more or less. I didn't sleep super great again, but that's okay. Party on. Morning. So we made it to Cambogai Falls. It was only 50 pesos a person to get in. So only like two bucks for both of us, which is great. And we were here before the gates even opened at 8 a.m. So we are the first ones here and I'm just really excited to swim. We'll see how cold it is because it's pretty early, but I'm excited. Okay, these steps are a little bit more steep than I was expecting. Even for your long legs? Yeah. Yeah, they're pretty hard on the knees, but I can't believe how green it is here. This looks insane right now. It's so green, so lush. You can already hear the waterfall. I'm loving this. Let's get down there. Waterfall, waterfall. It's insane. Look how blue this is right now. It's like Gatorade water. There are so many different rope swings here and I want to just like, that's the way I want to get in the water. It is very high though. So I'm a little bit nervous about the hang time. Start from the highest one. What was that squeal for? All of a sudden you realize you're really, really hot. My chest is going to get red. I still think you look good. Man, that water is so nice. It really is not cold at all. Do I look like a mermaid? You look like a mermaid. I feel like a mermaid in the blue water. Oh, this is magical. I cannot believe the color of this water right now. This is insane. This reminds me a lot of like, smooth tempo. Yeah, that's true. Also, I'm very happy that we arrived at opening or before because there is so many people just arriving now. So as much as it's like, you think it's going to be cold to arrive at 8, this was definitely the right choice. These guys are so crazy. One thing that's just so incredible to me is just again, how green everything is and the contrast with the blue water. Honestly, just like makes it like, this is just like an ideal tropical paradise. Okay, we're stopping for a quick break at our place because it looks like it might rain for a few minutes here. So we're just going to take a little breather before we head to the beach. But we thought we'd maybe just give you a quick little tour of our place we're staying at. So this is E&N Resorts. It's actually just so nice because it's kind of off the road and it's really tranquil. Is that the word? Tranquilo. What is the word in English? Anyways, it's very relaxing and peaceful here. There's so much greenery. And yeah, I just really love it. It's been great here. So let's go show you our room real quick. This is our little cottage. And here's our room. It's quite basic. It's probably also very dark in here. It's very basic, but honestly has kind of everything we need. The bed's fairly comfy. They even have a little tea coffee station for us. Very small TV. We haven't tried that out yet, but you know, whatever. We're not here to watch TV, so it doesn't matter. And then a large bathroom. And this place is $21 a night, so really can't complain. The owners are lovely and it's been a great stay for just a few nights. Do you like that I still have my helmet on? I love it. You look really dorky right now. You look so classy. I only realized that when I looked in the mirror. Good. Good, good, good. Tommy just said they're Vodka filled. No, they're not. One bite in. No, can't say no to that. How many can I have? Wow, well the weather really does just change from like rainy to sunny to rainy to sunny here. Very tropical. I love it. Not complaining. But holy, it feels weird getting sunburned in the shade and then all of a sudden having to go into the sun and just getting blazed. Now that you got all the sneezes out, is it time to get in? Yeah, I am 1 million degrees right now. So I'm definitely going for a swim in the water. Should I go? Do it, yeah, absolutely. No one's telling you not to. Okay, all right. That was commitment. Did that look really cool? Oh, you looked like the coolest person ever. Definitely. I could only handle the niceness so long, Eric. You know this about me. Yes, but beautiful, hey? Wow, this is insane. There is nothing but sand in here. Look at this. This is beautiful. Now, this is the Philippines I feel like you see in pictures. Siquijor is like the epitome of the Philippines, you know, with the waterfalls, now the beach. Just amazing. Look at this. I love it. This is like, this is a picture, like that's crazy. It's the best day. This is great. I love Siquijor. Me too. It's hard because I feel like I can't imagine getting better than this, you know? Like it's crazy that we're going to like five more islands still. I just can't picture being better than this. Totally. And who knows, maybe it won't be. Maybe it will be. Maybe we've peaked. Yeah, maybe this is, we started the best. It's only downhill from here. I don't think that's the case. I feel like they're all going to be amazing. Oh, and look at the cool shell I found. Okay, look at this cool shell I found in the water. Isn't that so pretty? That's awesome. I love that. Island paradise with my shell. What do you got? Thousands of people die every year. So many people die every year from coconuts falling on their heads. From their friends dropping coconuts on their heads. Obviously one of the biggest attractions of this island is just like the tropical feels, but it's definitely the thing to do to just go to a bunch of waterfalls. It's also the thing to do to rent a scooter. So luckily, like we said, we have a scooter that we rented from our hotel, but this whole place is like literally just made for scooters. You can just park kind of wherever, whenever you get to places. And of course we are at another waterfall. This is called Ludnason Falls and it's supposed to be just another beautiful waterfall. One of the things to do here. And on the count of three, say Sikihor! Sikihor! Many new friends from the Philippines, eh? Bye guys! Everyone here is so nice. I know I'm going to say this 1 million times in the Philippines, but I can knock it over how friendly everyone is. It's, it's amazing. I love it. We feel so welcome. Is it slippery, Sarah? Um, it's a little, it's a little slippery, but I got my tacos on, so I'm doing fine. Putting in 4x4 mode, sport mode. I actually just strapped them up for the first time all day. So, you know, it's serious business now. Well, this is so beautiful again. It's kind of similar to the other one, but I love the rocks of this one. They have that really rounded look to them. I don't know if that's just from the water. Is it from like sulfite or something? But they look really smooth and like, it's like a little brain vibe going on, you know? But again, it just looks really nice here. Oh, third swim of the day and I still didn't want to get out of the water. Just so like, I just feel so at peace when I'm in the water and it's so beautiful. There's like this cute little river flowing down the side. I mean, it's a waterfall, but I just love it so much. I could have stayed in there for so long. I'm happy. Happy, Sarah. As long as we get a happy Sarah by the end of the day, I'm good. That's all that matters. Why not at the start of the day? Well, I feel like you're just not much of a morning person. That is a lie. I'm a great morning person. I just like to sleep in, but once I'm awake. I just want to make sure you're happy by the end of the day. Yeah, good. Oh, also, you got to see this guy. This guy must be like the guardian of the waterfall. He climbs up there, cleaning up the leaves and other sticks to make it look pretty, but he literally makes it look like it's so easy. Look at this. He's like bouldering right now. I'm going to make a video called the guardian of Lughnasang Falls. Yeah, look at him. That's so crazy. All right, we are so hungry. We have made it here to Angel Wish Cafe, and oh my goodness. I just ordered a very, very traditional Filipino food. This is called sisig. I got a mixed seafood sisig. There's a lot of different types that you can get, but I asked the waitress what her recommendation was, and this was it. So mixed seafood. There's some onions, some peppers, and I think there's just a couple different types. Obviously, a couple different types of fish and seafood in here, and then they just crack an egg over top of it. And it just sort of like fries with it, and then I also get a side of rice here as well. So I'm very excited to try this. One bite it. It's so hot. Oh, that's so savory. Oh my goodness. It's kind of spicy too. It looks like it has like some spicy peppers in it. So wow, this is incredible. How have I not had this yet? This is so good. I'm not even kidding you. You need to try this. It's so good. Maybe it's just like the greasiness of it, and like I love that it just has like a cracked fried egg on it. So good. And then we got the lovebirds over here. We're just like chowing, chowing down. I saw you guys doing your little dance. Yeah, we were eating veggies and just going. These grilled vegetables are amazing. I mean, you guys are so cute. With a pound of butter. We ordered veggies and it literally came with like butter soup underneath. I mean, who doesn't love veggies sautéed in a bunch of butter and garlic and pepper? I mean, I definitely love it. Do your little happy dance again that you guys were doing. Yeah, that's what I saw out of my peripheral. We're dancing. All right, Sarah, your turn. What'd you get? Okay, I also asked the server what's a very typical Filipino meal, and this is chicken adobo. And so it's supposed to be chicken that's kind of sautéed with vinegar, soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic, and clearly some onions and some rice. So I'm excited to try it. That's really good. It tastes more like gravy than I was expecting. I can definitely taste the soy sauce. I really like that. It's so nice. Honestly, this just tastes like a hearty home-cooked meal that my mom would have made, you know? You got some rice, you got some veggies, a little chicken. Just makes me feel nice and at home. This is very good. Cheers. What a perfect way to end our first day with two-for-one margaritas. Can't beat that deal. Definitely not. It's been such a great day, too. Oh, it's been such a good day. We're all sunburnt and happy. Like, it really was just a great day. It was perfect. Yeah. Perfect day. Perfectly perfect. Ready for tomorrow? Oh, yeah. Another big day. Tomorrow. Give me a couple more of these. Good morning. We are at the Butterfly Sanctuary here in Siquijor, and we just had one of the nicest drives ever. We went, like, pretty much across the island and up and over one of the mountains, and it was just so beautiful. It was so green. The views were amazing. Warm air in your face. Oh, I loved it so much. This island never ceases to amaze me, but we're really excited to see some butterflies. Hopefully, we can get one to land on us this time. You're right in the shot, you know? How dare you? Get out of here. We're trying to pretend we're not friends. Just kidding. I'm like, look at all the beautiful plants. Eric's like, look at beautiful Sammy. He just wants shots of you. Yeah, just me. Okay. This might just be, like, the best way to start a day. Just coming into, like, a closed, planted area with, like, butterflies coming around. Eric, I feel like you requested the rain just because you wanted a beer. I have no complaints here. Yeah, because immediately once we got our beer, it stopped raining, so. Stop, you get a beer, and it's sunny, and you keep driving. Any excuse for a beer break. Okay, next stop is Saladong Beach. So it cost 50 pesos each to get in and 20 pesos to park our scooter. And there's supposed to be just a really beautiful beach here with maybe some cliff jumping. So I'm excited to see it. I love the Philippines. Wow, this beach is so beautiful. And it honestly feels like we're like the only ones here. There's like a lot of space. Yeah, this is amazing. It's definitely a lot more like corally rocky than I was expecting than sand, but the water is so turquoise blue. And it is just, this is gorgeous. I'm excited to hang out here. Whoa, this is awesome. I love this. Boy, look at this water. Look at this water. It's so blue right now. When you get higher up, it's like the sun rays or something. Look how nice this looks. And this way looks even nicer. I don't know where to look. It's so pretty. I love this. I'm so happy right now. Are you going to go off that? I am not going off of that one for sure. I'm undecided about the other ones still. Are you going to go off? I honestly can't decide either. I feel like... That's a lot higher than I thought it would be. Tommy, you're going right away? That was awesome. Oh man, this water is magical. So blue. So sandy underneath. This is everything I hoped and dreamed the Philippines would be. Let's be real. These last couple of days have just been amazing. So happy to be here. So grateful to be here, actually. That's mostly what I'm thinking when I'm scooting around on this island. Just grateful that we get to experience these crazy things in such beautiful places. Try never to take it for granted. I agree. This rock looks so cool. You know what it looks like, Eric? It looks like, what's that turtle thing called? An avatar. That's exactly what this looks like. This is a lion turtle with the trees coming out of the top. I'm just ready for a little face to come up and come and take you along on a little journey. That's so cool. That was really cool. He's like looking at me. He wants you, let him crawl on the lens. Wow. This is so weird. He's literally looking at me in my eyes. Wow, twinsies. Dance, dance, dance, friends forever. He really wants to hang out. All he wants to do is hang out. I just don't know what he's trying to do. Okay, bye buddy. Hope you find your dad. Well, I genuinely could have stayed at this beach all day. I love this way too much. I feel so relaxed all of a sudden just being here swimming. The ocean just feels so nice. I want to jump off that thing one more time. Do it. No, we got to get going. Yeah. Unfortunately, we have a 45 minute scooter ride back towards our place and then we have one more stop today. So we really do have to get going. Well, we finally made it to our last stop on the entire trip in Siquijor and that is the old enchanted Valete tree. And this tree is huge. Look at this thing. It looks like it's just one of those trees that just like a bunch of branches come up from the ground and then eventually either a couple of them or one of them or they all conjoin or something, but they just get bigger as the tree gets higher and higher. But wow, super, super cool. Well, apparently it's also a spa. So we're going to get a little foot treatment by these fish. Maybe. Whoa, they're actually really big. I've never seen like that big of fish. Do you think those nibble on your feet too? Hopefully not. They'd take my whole toe off. I don't know about this. Maybe it's supposed to be like magical healing from the enchanted old tree. We're going to be healthy as ever after this. Let's see this. Okay, this is actually a perfect way to end our time here because I feel like my feet are so mangled from the sand and everything. And now they're just eating all the dry dead skin. I know. Isn't it crazy to think about like what this tree's all been through? Absolutely. Like 400 years old. That's so long. I don't even know the names in my family line 400 years back. You know what I mean? Right, yeah, right. Like I know my grandparents' names, but like I don't know their grandparents' names. Yeah, that's right. And that's how old this tree is. Crazy. At least our grandparents' grandparents' age. Ow, that actually hurt. Fighting a little too hard? Yeah, it went like under my toenails. Whoa, look how big this one is on my foot. That's way too big. Oh, that thing's huge. That scared me, that one was so big. Oh, these things are going for it. I'm very excited about my feet. Oh, they're so big. Oh my word, ow. These things are massive. They're so big. You look like you're struggling. Well, it's like sandpaper on your foot. I'm just like amazed at how large they are. It actually just feels like when they bite onto you, it's like sandpaper. It's almost like when you let a cat lick you, that's kind of what it feels like. And they're huge. Like I've never actually, I didn't realize a fish this big did this, honestly. It's like a mix of tickling and hurting, you know? Like tickles, but it's almost like little tiny needles or something. The big ones are so weird. This was a great way to end our time here on Sikihor, wow. If you can tell from our rosy noses and the smiles on our faces, we have had the best time in Sikihor. This itinerary has been absolutely perfect. I mean, shout out to Sammy and Tommy, they planned most of it. But yeah, it's just been amazing. I love it so much. I will also say there was like a lot less tourists here than I was expecting. Each place that we went to, there wasn't like a ton of people there. I mean, I think if you can get to places early, that was like, that was fantastic. Yeah, it's been such a relaxing island trip. Yeah, so nice, yeah. But we leave for Bohol tomorrow.
