So we are just heading into what kind of is the local town here.
Cody's quite interested in, see if there's any toys or anything.
Remy's on the bus going, oh look at him go for it.
Good morning and welcome back to a brand new video.
Welcome to quite possibly the definition of paradise.
My view right now is a ginormous turquoise swimming pool with a backdrop.
What is that?
That's the smallest leaf I've ever seen.
That is the smallest leaf I've ever seen.
George is just in the background with his leg up doing mosquito repellent.
My view right now is the most incredible view of a bright turquoise ginormous swimming pool
across the whole length of the hotel.
Amazing hotel rooms with the backdrop of the mountains,
the coconut trees, the palm trees.
I can hear the waves from the beach that's just there.
So beautiful.
They've got these lovely flowers here, like pink flowers.
Amazing.
So we're heading to breakfast.
So welcome back to another video.
Hope you're all doing well.
We are in Forta Princesa at the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton
and we are just getting started on the day.
I mean, I didn't sleep that well last night, to be honest.
Remy was awake a lot.
I feel like I start every vlog saying I didn't sleep that well.
It's just parent life.
I mean, not every parent.
Some parents get kids that sleep.
Some parents get kids that don't sleep.
We are the latter.
However, hmm?
Do you want to play?
Do I want to play?
I'd love to play.
Right now then.
Let's do it.
What are we playing?
Koda saw his first cockroach last night.
What did you think of the cockroach?
Scared.
Yeah, he wasn't too keen.
So need to work on that.
He's going to get your ring off.
You think that ant's going to take your toy away?
Yeah, one more.
You think he's going to carry your toy?
The toy that's potentially a million times its size.
Has Remy been mosquitoed?
Yes.
Don't know if it gets better than this.
As a morning, seeing the beach,
seeing the mountains, blue skies,
seeing Lucy's back.
Good morning, guys.
Look at that.
Palawan, Forta Princesa, Philippines.
Might just leave the vlog there.
Might just put the camera on the floor there.
Let it run for 20 minutes.
That's your vlog for today.
Because I don't know how I or Lucy,
I don't know how we can make it any better
than just looking at it, to be honest.
It is stunning.
Perfect temperature, slight breeze in the air,
northwesterly winds.
You look really tired.
Do I?
Your eyes look like...
I think you've had too much sleep.
What are you talking about?
George slept through the night.
So he's had like 20 hours sleep.
I'm starting to sleep through the night.
It's a thing at the age of 32 that happens.
We've done sleep training on him,
but he's doing really well.
Yeah.
But you look like you've had loads of sleep.
Your eyes look smaller.
Do they?
Yeah, you look like a teddy bear or something.
I think it's that one beer I had.
I said in the vlog yesterday that we don't drink anymore.
And I think one beer, I feel fine.
But I think one beer has like made my eyes close this morning.
Do you know what we've noticed here?
Brief observation.
There are a lot of westerners.
Yeah, there are a lot of like foreigners here,
which is cool.
I remember a lot when we,
six, seven years ago,
when we came to like Palawan and stuff,
we didn't notice that as much,
especially in Puerto Princesa,
in El Nido a little bit more.
I don't know the numbers.
I haven't looked.
Post COVID and stuff,
I'm just hoping like tourism in the Philippines is increasing
and it's getting more popular.
Good morning, morning.
Okay, so we got a seat inside this morning.
We had dinner outside yesterday,
but the breakfast buffet is behind us right here.
So we thought it'd be easier to get a breakfast stuff seat inside.
So we thought we'd sit here with easy access to the buffet.
Very smart, I think.
And a view of the beautiful beach.
We're going to go for a walk on the beach after breakfast.
We've also ordered coffee straight away
because as I was walking in,
I saw a very nice looking coffee with latte and everything.
So I'm assuming there's like a barista here
who can hopefully make us some good coffee,
which that's another thing.
Travelling islands,
you often get more like simple coffee and stuff like that.
But if we can get a good coffee here,
extra points.
So I've got a nice bit of breakfast here.
An array of salad-y bits,
rice, chicken, bacon, eggs.
With my morning shot.
You don't like it?
Fair enough.
With a view of the beach.
Oh, why are we so zoomed in?
We're so zoomed in.
Look at us in the camera.
Right, here we go.
Wow, this is...
What a great thing to do with my boy.
Walk along the beach.
Look at this beach, Codes.
What do you think, mate?
How good is this?
Closer, closer that way.
Closer to the water?
Yeah, but we're not gonna get my feet wet, are we?
You promised me, didn't you?
No, only over here.
We're not gonna get wet, are we?
Stop.
Stop, just here?
Yeah.
Phew.
Okay, fine, fine.
I think Coda's got other ideas.
But this is just absolutely, absolutely stunning.
So just literally outside the front of the hotel is this amazing beach.
There's trees.
We're trying to...
No, closer.
Closer?
Yeah.
I think Coda wants me to...
A bit more.
Go in the water.
No, no, no.
No, no, no, further over there.
Okay, all right, phew, good.
We're not gonna get wet, are we?
Um, just now.
Just there, perfect, yeah?
Yeah.
Okay, okay.
What?
Whoa, I don't know if you saw that.
There's some big sandflies here.
So we're trying to explain to Coda that the coconuts are actually grown up in the trees there.
Are they?
So we are just heading into what kind of is the local town here.
There's a couple of stores.
See what's going on.
The locals are all here.
Kids are playing.
Okay, there's some local stores here and I've just spotted some coconuts.
Coming to, I guess it's kind of like a souvenir-y type store.
All different things.
What have we got here?
We could get some gifts for our parents back home and our friends, potentially.
It's nice because the, I don't know if you can tell,
because the camera's quite good at lighting me up,
but this is pretty dark in here.
You can see the sun coming in here and it's way cooler.
So we kind of ducked under to come into the store and it's nice and cool in here.
Coda's quite interested in looking and see if there's any toys or anything.
Okay, I've left the kids and George.
Not just, I shouldn't start a sentence like that.
I've left George with the kids getting some fresh shakes at one of the cafes here
and I'm on a mission.
I've been sent to the Red Roof store over here to try and find this cap.
It seems that they've got hats that are like bucket hats for kids,
but Coda's insisting on a cap.
He likes a cap and I don't blame him.
I like a cap as well.
So I'm just looking now for one.
I'm going to try not to get hit by this motorbike.
Aha, that looks better.
It looks like a bigger souvenir store.
I think this is like a pier where you get tours as well
because we're quite near the underground river here, what we're saying,
and it's like there's loads of tourists here.
Hi, thank you.
Do you have caps for kids?
Thank you.
Thank you, boss.
Thank you.
Oh yeah, thank you.
Do you have like this?
Are they small?
Small ones?
They've got hats here.
Maybe this would loosen off.
Hat secured.
It's probably the most touristy item I've ever purchased.
It's this underground river,
Porta Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines.
The new seven wonders of nature.
So Coda's turning into a walking advert for the underground river.
However, it's going to keep the sun off his head.
It's an adult size.
I've tried to tighten it as much as I can.
I don't think it's going to be ideal,
but it was 180 pesos.
I gave 200.
I didn't try and barter down.
I think it's a great price for a hat.
It's a bargain.
So 200 pesos later, this is a good solution for now.
Maybe when we're back in the city,
we can find like an actual shop that sells kids caps
because, I mean, we'll go and see what he thinks of this.
He probably...
Hi!
He might not be too impressed with this,
but it will do.
It's sun protection.
Sorted.
Right.
I need to now remember where they are.
I've got no idea which one I actually left them in.
The moment of truth.
What do we think?
Oh, Remy.
It's a cap for you.
Do you like it?
Let's see if it fits.
Yes, Coda.
Yes.
I love it.
Good.
And it's got where we are on.
That's the name of where we are, this one.
Philippines.
Yeah.
Philippines hat.
Wow.
We're enjoying our fresh book up.
Good.
I'm not sure if Remy can use a straw,
but he was like trying to.
He definitely can't use a straw.
He's working on it.
Yeah.
He was like...
It was almost like he was.
Coda, try some.
That was the only one...
I've looked everywhere.
Like, I literally have been to every store here.
Well done.
It's adult.
I've tightened it.
It's not ideal, but it was 180 pesos.
So it's fine.
Oh, mango banana coats.
What are you doing?
Oh, look.
Your shake's here.
Do you want to go on your knees so you can drink it?
Wow, that's big.
Thank you.
Mango.
Banana.
Mango.
Banana.
You might have started a new invention here.
No one's ever tried mango banana shake before.
You're the first person in the world.
Let's see if it's good.
See if it's a good invention.
Don't worry.
Ready?
The moment of truth.
Is it a good invention?
Is it a goer?
Is it a yes or a no?
How is it?
Too cold.
It's too cold?
Surely not.
But how does it taste?
Good.
Jordan's dropping the entire buko on the floor.
Lovely.
That's so nice, man.
Is it cold?
It's not cold, but it doesn't matter.
I almost prefer it not.
Yeah.
Because it's like...
Don't pick it up, mate.
Don't pick it up.
Keep it down.
It's too big to drop.
Just knowing that this is literally going to be straight from a tree up there that I can see.
Oh, no, no.
They shipped that in, I think.
Oh, it's from Manila.
Just so fresh.
So delicious.
I kind of want to pour some out for Remy so he can actually drink it.
Yeah, let's get a cup.
Remy's on the buko.
Oh, look at him going for it.
He's finished it.
We need more.
We didn't film how Lucy got this into the cup.
No, you don't want to know.
She was like...
Thank you.
Thank you for...
I didn't know she was there.
I thought you did.
I know you just didn't stop.
You did it like four times.
I was like, it's enough.
Right, this is yours.
Yes, I know.
Thank you very much.
What was that noise?
So nice.
Well, we've all got our drinks.
Cheers, guys.
That's not a thing.
Cheers, guys.
Picture this.
We're in England.
We wake up.
We look outside.
It's raining.
It's cold.
The heating's on.
Oh, don't be that guy.
I'm just going to try to over-appreciate this by comparing it to like the worst day at home.
I feel so happy here.
Look at that jeepney on the beach.
Very nice.
Very cool.
Let's go.
So Remy's just taking his nap in the room and it's so nice having access
straight onto the pool here.
I've been with Koda for ages while George has been sort of like waiting to listen out for Remy.
And now I've just swapped.
But yeah, so nice.
It's really warm today.
I just checked and it's like got a UV index of nine, which is crazy.
So we're fully sun-creamed up.
Although I feel like my face was in the sun for a while.
And it's just so nice to feel the sun on my skin for the first time in forever.
So yeah, I might be feeling a bit pink later.
That's okay.
Keeps you warm because you really need that in the Philippines.
So mummy has gone off for her massage and Koda and I have come to the kids club
and he's found the PS5 straight away.
Ate has set us up with a game.
Remy's having his nap.
Koda's playing PlayStation.
So that leaves me with not a lot to do for a couple of minutes, which is rare.
Okay, I have really caught the sun today.
What is that?
It looks way worse on the vlog camera.
Like I look like I've...
What is...
Okay, I don't know what that is.
Let me try.
I look way worse on camera than I do in real life, I swear.
It doesn't even look that bad in person.
But my chest, on the other hand...
Oh my god, that's really bad.
So we...
I had a massage and George is in his now.
So good at the spa here.
Honestly, like I haven't had a massage in so long and it was amazing.
Really, really good and so relaxing.
And yeah, amazing.
Loved it so much and I feel really good now.
So Koda had an amazing time at the kids club.
He was there for like two hours playing.
Jen there was amazing with him and we were playing like all together.
But he really loved Jen and that was great.
And now we are heading for some dinner.
So such an amazing day here.
It's that really beautiful time of night now,
where like the sun set behind the mountains.
Bit of acorn blasting through the speakers.
You can't beat it.
But it was so nice today.
I've loved it.
Koda's hat's just here.
I love his new hat.
It really suits him.
And we actually really enjoyed heading out of the resort today
and going to sort of the more...
It was like more like provincial area, I suppose.
But also a little bit touristy
because it's out for tourists who want to come into the underground river, I suppose.
So it was like a mixture.
But that's the kind of Philippines that we love.
Like back in the day, road trips would just drive to like...
I don't know, all over the place.
We've driven all over the Philippines
and you'd just be like...
I have so many fond memories.
You'd be driving along and it'd be like the kind of late in the evening.
It's like when we got here yesterday evening, that kind of time.
Driving through all the little sort of local villages
and there's people like walking around.
Like they've washed their hair.
They're in their pajamas.
They've got wet hair.
They're just relaxing with their family out.
The kids playing in the street.
They might be like selling something on a stall out the front of their house.
It's just like a really simple, relaxed life.
And yeah, I love to see it.
And it just makes me smile.
And the people are always just so friendly and kind and welcoming.
And it just feels so good to be back here.
I'm not sure why I'm doing this clip next to a toilet.
Maybe we'll cut that there.
Anyway, we're gonna head for some dinner now
and see what's on the menu tonight.
Oh, I look a little bit red, a little bit sunburned today.
I think both of us are.
I've just come out for my massage.
Lucy had hers beforehand.
And Lucy texted me as I was finishing saying dinner is on the table.
And it literally is on the table.
Not that I thought she was lying or anything.
But this looks good.
Coda's got some pizza.
We've got some pasta going on.
Some chicken.
Some fried chicken.
Some steak over here.
Yes, my darling.
You want to play your game?
Of course you do.
We've got some ribeye over here.
Delicious.
And look at this setting.
We've got the place to ourselves more or less.
Slightly earlier dinner time.
Just starting to get dark.
It's not actually 6 p.m. or something.
Remy's eating, good boy.
Got the sound of the ocean.
Heavy.
He is heavy.
Oh, no glasses, Remy.
Say hi, say hi to dad.
No glasses.
Hey.
I think he's scared of me.
No, he likes you.
He'd be crying by now.
What's the name of this one again?
Oh, Cashew Suns Ribeye.
Suns Ribeye.
Thank you.
So this is the Cashew Suns Ribeye.
It looks amazing.
It's like layered.
Palawan's known for cashew nuts, and I actually forgot that.
So we definitely need to get some, maybe at the airport.
Oh, it's like a frozen dessert.
Amazing.
Cheers.
Yum.
And they've got a gimmerous cheesecake.
Gimmerous mango cheesecake, sorry.
Really good desserts.
And I love that they've got like flavours of different places as well,
like the gimmerous angle and the Palawan angle as well.
It's really good.
Not just like generic desserts, you know what I mean?
