Princess Kate photo pulled by British news agencies, AP, others over ‘manipulation’ concerns

a development this hour surrounding a royal photo controversy and I'm looking at that photo I mean there are different UK um agencies that have gone step by step by step and I'm looking through all of them like this Rachel I'm like okay but now apparently we're hearing from Princess Kate as she responds to claims that it was a family photo uh that it was manipulated and she's sort of giving an explanation as to why right and this is brand new from last hour that response coming in the form of a statement posted a short time ago on social media it says quote like many amateur photographers I do occasionally experiment with editing I want to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day now the Mother's Day photo was the first picture of the princess since a mysterious medical procedure earlier this year but shortly after it was released several news agencies that had posted it began to retract it pointing out it appeared altered the the Associated Press pointed out several issues including the inconsistency of Princess Charlotte's left hand where part of the sleeve is missing on her sweater in the original post the photo is credited to Prince William Royal experts say this is all causing people to be more concerned about Kate's Health this is only going to fuel much more speculation uh about the whereabouts and the condition of the Princess of Wales who's not been seen on any official engagements since Christmas of course being out with the the royal family I I think the conspiracy theorists are not going to be satisfied until they see almost I don't know a kidnap style proof of life photo of the princess holding up today's copy of the Daily Mail with the date on it well the royal family says Kate has been recovering from a planned abdominal surgery since the middle of January and she would not return to Royal duties until after Easter now the reason for the surgery of course was not revealed the palace only saying it was not cancer and I was telling you guys earlier I thought that they were going to say that Megan marle edited the photo and released it and that's what caused even this on her was Megan even putting that on Megan it is it is an interesting explanation that a woman recovering from surgery who's a mom of three is tinkering with the phot it's an interesting explanation I'm sure people will be uh you know slicing and dicing even the explanation uh in the days to come Rachel thank you so much
