hey it's Paul Ingram with Marshall Flex
today I want to share with you three
band exercises that I like doing for my
shoulders these are really great
exercises for strength and mobility in
our shoulders you're just gonna need a
light band nothing too heavy if you need
a set of bands I have a link in the
description below we can go ahead and go
grab some at a nice reasonable price
let's grab a band and let's get to it
what I love about bands is that you can
bring these with you anywhere so if
you're on the road if you're traveling
you want to throw them in your car throw
them in your bag I like to bring them
with me when I'm hiking I'm out here in
the garden and uh just working with them
right here so our first exercise we're
going to bring the bands up and we're
going to lay them right across our
shoulder blade just like this
and then we're going to extend our hands
out so that we have a little bit of
tension
we're gonna bring our hands to the front
of our chest keeping our arms extended
flexing the back flexing the shoulders
and then bring it back when we bring it
back let the band come off of the back
all right so from here
across the shoulder blades bring the
bands forward let the hands touch and
then bring it back
and I like doing this for reps of 8 to
12 reps three sets on each exercise that
we're gonna be doing today
a couple different views
and you see how I'm kind of letting it
back round a little bit there
they're working that full range of
motion
in the shoulders
inhale
and exhale
for our second band shoulder exercise
we're gonna go and do it in front of the
body now for the chest go ahead and hold
the bands just like this out in front of
you hands are roughly about shoulder
distance just like you're holding a
towel out and then I want you to put a
little bit of tension just squeeze it
out turn your thumbs up just a little
bit
from here we're going to extend it
once the bands touch the chest we're
gonna give a little twist Palm up
and then reverse that motion and come
back
[Music]
and again just shooting for
about eight
12 reps
resets and you can super set all these
you just do one right after another
[Music]
with a short break
in between your sets
[Music]
let's go ahead and get two exercise
number three
for a third exercise we just need some
sort of sturdy vertical pull post
something that we can go ahead and tie
our band on just like this and then
we're gonna go ahead and put some
tension into our band
we're gonna keep the arm in this 90
degree Bend right here
holding the uh keeping the tension
holding the band keeping the shoulder
packed into the socket and we're gonna
go ahead and open the shoulder
and then let it close but even from the
side here I'm gonna let it open
as far as you can and close
again for more resistance just put a
little more tension into the band
and working again eight
12 reps
or three sets
[Music]
they have it three of my top favorite
shoulder drills to do with the bands
targeting both strength and mobility in
the complete shoulders if you are
looking for a set of bands to purchase
that are not expensive I have a link in
