Hey everyone this is Justin here at Beckley's RVs. Behind me I've got the all-new Imagine
Aim. This is a brand new travel trailer that Imagine debuted at the September
Hershey RV show here in 2022. They only built roughly about 200 or 300 of these things just
to test it out and see what the market thinks and I think they nailed it on the head. Let me
show you what this model has to offer. So this is the 16ML which stands for middle lounge.
It's 20 foot in overall length and the dry weight is just shy of 3,900 pounds. This is built with
fiberglass siding, aluminum studs, and it even has Azdel back behind the sidewalls. We're gonna get
started. I'm gonna show you what the front of the trailer has to offer first. You've got a power
tongue jack up front with an LED light so you can see what you're doing at nighttime. Comes along
with two 20-pound propane tanks with its own plastic cover. And one thing I love that they're
using now is the Norco Industries BAL chassis. You can do some research into this. The benefit is
they're using very minimal welds along the chassis. Instead they're using huck bolts. Right here you
can see this is an example of a huck bolt. This is similar technology to what they use for airplanes,
yachts, or even submarines. It uses, I don't know, maybe roughly 10,000 pounds worth of pressure
to be able to install those bolts. So really you should have no issues or concerns of welds
breaking over time. All right, so this has a large pass-through storage area. Inside here you're going
to also have two motion sensor LED lights. And then you can see up and above how nicely finished
off this trailer is. You've got your aluminum studs running across there. No exposed plywood,
just looks very, very nice. And then over here to my right, you're going to have your convenience
panel. So starting from the left and working our way over here to the right, you've got an exterior
outlet. Right here is a GoPower 30-amp solar controller. This model does have solar already
installed up top on the roof. And then over here to the right, you're going to have a battery
disconnect for those of you that need to store this someplace else other than home where you
cannot keep it plugged in. You've got your CityWater connection here. You've got a valve
here to be able to flip to fresh tank fill so you can fill up your freshwater tank through your
CityWater connection. You've got your satellite and cable inlets right there. This is also pre-wired
for the TireLink system, which is a tire pressure monitoring system that you can install there on
the valve stems. You've got a little LED light for outside when you're hooking up that gray and
black tank there at nighttime. There's some ground effects lighting there. And then you have both a
hot and cold feature for the outside shower that this model comes with. Now, the best thing about
this is Grand Design is much better insulated compared to every other product, which means
what you can do is you can run your water hose up and through the bottom here.
You can close this guy off, hook it up to the CityWater connection there,
and we're going to be able to close off this storage area here. So let's get down and dirty
on the numbers. You can see it's kind of already rubbed off here, but we're going to run through
it together. This is about 3,888 pounds dry weight, so that's as the trailer sets. You can put 867
pounds worth of stuff inside of here before you are overloaded or maxed out at 4,725 pounds. That's
your gross weight there. If you also notice, these tires are a little bit larger than most travel
trailers in this size. They're running 15-inch tires here, and they've got an 80 PSI for that
nitrogen that's inside there. All right, so there's no bumper on the back of this trailer.
Why I bring that up is because most people typically stow their sewage hose in that
bumper. Well, no problem. Grand Design was already one step ahead. They provide you an area here,
right across the underbelly, to be able to stow that sewage hose. And then some of you are already
probably looking. There's your spare tire mounted up and underneath. Now, one thing I want to point
out while we're underneath it here is the fact that you do have that enclosed, heated underbelly.
Now, that's not only important for that wintertime use that I was telling you earlier,
but it also helps with some critters or mice from getting up on the inside of your trailer. But
really, the most important thing that I would like to point out is you have a very clean underbelly
here, meaning there's not a whole lot of sagging. You don't see insulation sticking out from
underneath. I just think they did a very good job finishing this off. And it's those little details
is what's making Grand Design stand out amongst all the other manufacturers.
So, here's your wheels and tires. As mentioned, they are 15 inches. They are using the Westlakes
rather than the Goodyear Endurance's that I see on the other Imagine lineups, which is okay. I
think as long as you take the proper precautions before each trip, that will prevent any issues of
tire blowouts. Now, before I move on to the rest of this stuff here, I just want to point out
this has excellent ground clearance. It always seems to be an issue or concern with
being able to take these up steep terrain. And I don't think you're going to have any issues here
with items dragging underneath. So, now back over here, you're going to notice you have your gray
and black tank drains and everything drains just right out of this one drainage outlet right here.
Now, something that's little that I really appreciate are the access points of these
low-point drains, but also the fact that they have valves on these low-point drains.
Many trailers just use screw caps at the end, and it's not very easy to drain those tanks out or
drain those lines out. This is just one little key difference that I absolutely appreciate and
would add to any trailer that doesn't already have them on there. So, Grand Design uses a
Schwintek-style slide. Now, this is not a very deep slide. This is roughly around 12 to 18 inches
or so. However, they do a laminated slide box. Listen to this. If those two walls there sound
like each other, that means it is truly a laminated slide box. Not every brand does this.
However, it provides better insulation and better structure in comparison to doing a free-hung wall
there on that slide. So, it's just one more difference that costs more that Grand Design does
that just goes under the radar, and I just really appreciate that small attention to detail.
So, on the rear wall of the Imagine, you'll see you have a ladder to climb up top
onto the 100% walkable roof. It also is pre-wired for a Furion backup camera.
Now, over here to the left, it'll come along with a 30-amp detachable power cord.
And then, look at this. As I mentioned, there's no bumper on the back. However, they're providing you
a hitch here that's rated for 150 pounds. This is perfect for being able to store a small storage
rack or be able to bring your bicycles. Now, over here to the right, oh my goodness, this is a
Furion On-Demand Water Heater, which means you can pretty much have endless hot water inside.
Now, down low there, you have a spray port. So, that outside shower I was showing you earlier,
that same water hose can come over here and provide you just cold water only. Perfect for
rinsing dishes, for the outside kitchen that this model has, which I'll show you here in just one
moment. And then, down below, you have a black tank flush. Hook up a hose to this, that'll begin
spraying out the inside of the black tank and prevent you from having any issues with the tank
sensors inside or just smelly issues for that. So, you've got a 200-watt solar panel up front
there. Right there in the middle is going to be your air conditioner. You have two overhead
exhaust vents right here. To the left is a Winegard Air 360, which is a high-definition
digital antenna booster. You've got a couple of valves. You have a couple of vents for your gray
and black tanks inside there. And then, lastly, you've got a skylight right here
for inside of the shower. All right. So, we're here on the door side of the Imagine.
First thing I want to point out is the other side of the pass-through storage here.
But more importantly, if you notice here, look how massive the awning is. You've got
nearly an awning that takes up the whole sidewall of the trailer. As we all know,
you're going to be outside most of the time, so length of the awning is always important.
It comes with three Moride solid entrance steps. Makes climbing in and out just that much easier,
especially with the large grab-assist handle they're providing you here.
Just want to point out that 16ml, and it has that Arctic Insulation Four Seasons package.
Now, over here, you're going to see you have an exterior outlet.
Directly to the left there is your freshwater tank fill. Now, when it comes time to drain that
freshwater tank, right below, you're going to see a two-inch in-diameter valve that you can pull
open to drain out that freshwater tank very quickly. And the blue lines hanging down over
there are your overfill lines in case you end up overfilling your freshwater tank.
And then here to the right is the other end of that sewage hose storage, which means you can
access it from either side. And up top there to the right, that's how you're going to be able to
crank down that spare top. You've got two windows here on the exterior. You've got an exhaust vent
for the cooktop inside there. And then down below is your furnace vent. Now, here's the flashy
stuff. Oh, my gosh. This is a capital griddle that comes standard with this model. It nicely
stows away on the inside, so you don't even have to really worry about packing it up and stowing
it somewhere. Now, this griddle connects to the LP Quick Connect that's down low right here.
So as soon as you get inside here, this feels massive. It does not feel like a normal 20-foot
long trailer. And I think some of that has to do with the fact that you have that table that
removes in front of the sofa, because otherwise it just takes up so much space inside here.
But nonetheless, let me show you a couple of quick things. So right here on the slide out,
you're going to notice you have a small sofa that's here. It's got two cup holders there in
the middle. And this also tumbles forward, so you could easily bring an additional person if needed.
Down below there also, you're going to notice you have some additional storage.
So there's two pull-out drawers there. And then up and above, you have a massive window to be
able to let in some light. They also use blackout MCD roller shades here. So those are not the
pleated or cheap shades. Those are definitely an upgrade compared to your normal trailer.
Now over here, you're going to see that they have a little USB port. So if you're sitting on the
sofa, you can still charge your cell phone. And spinning around there, oh my gosh, this kitchen
is killer. I mean, look at all the storage down low, pots and pans. Looks like you even have
spots to be able to hang a couple of washcloths if needed. Tons of counter space. You've got a
convection microwave down low. You've got covers for both the cooktop, but also the sink. You've
got lots of storage up and overhead. A TV directly across from the sofa. I mean, grand design. You
guys are doing it. And the windows, oh my gosh. You have your controls here for the on-demand
water heater. And then you've got your control there for the furnace. Sorry, I didn't turn that
light on. We're going to go ahead and do so now. So here you've got a 12-volt Norcold refrigerator.
This is going to run off of the batteries, no propane involved. It's going to cool down
in just a couple of quick hours. They give you the solar up on the roof to help charge those
batteries for you to be able to stay off-grid for longer and still be able to use that refrigerator
no problem. And then up and above there, you have a very deep cabinet here. I could imagine this
could be definitely a pantry area here or just simply towels and linens. I mean, just all kinds
of storage. And look, they even have a lip here so things don't go sliding out and opening up
these cabinet doors. I'm telling you guys, they thought of everything with this trailer. Now up
and above here, you have an exhaust vent for the cooktop or kitchen area inside here. And let's go
ahead and show you what the bed space looks like. Oh my gosh, guys. I'm telling you, if I was going
to buy a travel trailer and it's just myself or maybe one other person coming along with me,
this has got to be the one. You got a 60 by 80 inch queen bed up front, loads of storage down
below. You've got an outlet over there along with USB ports. You've got overhead cabinets up top.
And then you even have, oh my goodness, a hanging closet, even coat hangers here. You've got drawers
for extra storage. And then all the way over here, you even have another outlet and another USB for
some of you that are using the sleep app machines. That would be a great area to be able to stick
that guy into. And then, oh my gosh, another window. They are just really doing it with this
trailer. So entering into the bathroom, you've got a sliding barn door here with a magnet there.
And we're going to open that back up. A little disappointed here. I thought that this was going
to be a porcelain toilet. It's got the shine and the sheen, just like a porcelain toilet would, but
it is all plastic, but that's okay because this has so many other things inside here that I think
they just nailed it with. You've got an area here to be able to again, hang up your washcloths or
even just dry some towels if needed. You have tons of counter space back behind. You've got
a stainless steel sink bowl with a high rise faucet there. You've got a medicine cabin up and
overhead. Hey guys, open that up. See some of the storage there. Oh my goodness. Look over here.
You even have extra hanging spaces here for some towels. And then on the back wall, I forgot to
mention, you have another window up and overhead. You've got an exhaust vent. And then lastly,
over here, you have your shower. This has the sliding shower door that so many of you hate,
but also love. And you've got that skylight up top for those of you that are a little bit taller.
