So let me get this straight. Actually, I'll have Morgan Freeman say it because it's cooler.
Let me get this straight.
The Blue Jays scored at least eight runs in two of their first four games of the season against
the Rays, then head over to Houston where the Astros lost all four of their games against
the Yankees to start the season, also a place where the Astros hadn't won a game since October 7th.
Any normal person would assume this means the Jays beat the Astros, especially since
the starting pitcher for Houston is a 30-year-old making just his eighth career Major League start.
But because baseball is the most chaotic and intoxicated sport to exist, not only did the
Astros win this game, but that 30-year-old who made just his eighth career Big League start,
whose name is Ronald Blanco, threw a damn no-hitter in the process. This game is not real.
Just like the Oakland A's right now, I cannot fathom, I cannot fathom the state of this
organization. Just when you think it can't get any worse, just when you think they can't get
any more pathetic or an embarrassment or just an organization that makes zero sense, they say
The A's didn't play well in their first four games of 2024, but there's an individual who did,
Estuary Ruiz. Estuary Ruiz is a 25-year-old who made his rookie season last year,
and although he didn't hit well at all, he provided value on the bases, lots of it,
stealing the most bases in the American League with 67 of them. To kick off 2024, Ruiz stole his
first bag of the season, but also hit really well, hitting .429 with an OPS over .1200, hitting a
double, a triple, and struck out just one time in three games. Good stuff, so of course the A's
have to send him down a triple A. Obviously, what else would they do? Of course, at first glance,
that's stupid to do, to send down a young player who obviously had a great weekend, but not to
worry. A's general manager Dave Force said, hold my meth, and gave just about the dumbest
explanation you could imagine. To sum up his explanation, just imagine him not subscribing
to this channel that your very two eyeballs are watching right now. It's dumber than that.
Force's reasoning was because Ruiz needed to work on cutting down his strikeouts and be able to get
on base at a consistent basis. The same guy who literally got on base the second most times on
the team over the weekend. Yes, it's only three games he played, but that's also the exact reason
why you don't send him down, even if he struck out every at-bat. It's three games, but again,
he also only struck out once and was great. Mark Kotze, the manager, said he wouldn't have made
the opening day roster if not for Miguel Andujar getting hurt, which I guess is fair, but them
seemingly just virtually trashing Ruiz publicly like this is wild. To quote Brad Pitt acting as
Billy Bean in Moneyball, what the fuck are you talking about, man? Some are speculating it's
because Ruiz wore a Last Dive Bar wristband, a group that's a massive advocate against the A's
moving to Vegas, but I mean, who isn't? There are a bunch of great people who have helped put
together the boycotts and protests against the ownership. The Last Dive Bar Twitter brought up
other players who've worn the wristband and were either sent down or taken off the roster or
whatever afterward. I don't look at myself as a conspiracy theorist, but either way, the A's being
an insanely brain dead and horribly run organization is just like the fact that the aliens built the
pyramids. It's not a conspiracy theory. What a nightmare, but it doesn't end there because the
A's then have to go out onto the field and attempt to play baseball. You'd think it's hard to watch,
but it's really not, at least when the team you like is playing them. The vibes are immaculate
with the Red Sox right now. The starting pitching continues to shove. Look what I made for the game!
What's that mean anyway? And the Lord said, go Sox. It just continues to amaze me every day how
Rob Manfred is allowing a little league team to play in the majors, although it's actually not
the worst idea in the world when you think about it. It's an interesting way of drawing viewers to
the game because you can play a game of your own, a game of let's see how many times the A's can
screw up tonight. The answer? Five f-ups in game one against the Red Sox. If you're going to play
this game, I just advise not to drink for every A's f-up because you're not even going to only
get real drunk or blackout, you're just going to straight up die. Just like Jesus Christ did for
our sins before rising from the dead and coming back on Easter Sunday to save the angels, who
then went down to Miami and won again. Mike Trout hit his second homer of the season, but this wasn't
a home run. This was an attempted attack. Bro hit this like he was aiming for a missile attack on
someone. But since it's Mike Trout, I believe it was all in good intention. I'm sure it was aimed
for some terrorist group or something. The Rangers picked up right where they left off at the trap
last October, pummeling the Rays, although Josh Young, who smacked a three run bomb in the first
inning, would get smacked in the wrist in the last inning and it turns out he has a fractured wrist,
so let's all hope to God he comes back soon enough. That's awful. I'll tell you what isn't
awful though, and that's the Pittsburgh Pirates. Them boys can't stop, won't stop. Raising the
Jolly Roger yet again in the nation's capital this time. Andrew McCutchen got his first couple
of hits on the new season. 5-0, an undefeated record is still in reach. Drinks on me when the
Buccos go to the World Series. The Yankees are now also 5-0, beating the D-backs in another
impressive game by them. It's their first 5-0 start since 1992. Their first 5-0 start with
all five wins coming on the road in franchise history and the first career hit for Jorge
Barrosa on the D-backs, which is cool. But the Yankees are really coming out with a statement
to kick things off this year. Let's now check in on the other New York team. Halloween's a bigger
letdown than being a Mets fan. Opening day and here's the first pitch and the season's over.
The game was scoreless heading into the 10th inning. The Tigers won 5-0.
Now over to Philly, where they also suffered something similar, a 10-inning loss.
In this game, Spencer Steer decided to hit his first home run of the year in the perfect moment,
whacking a grand slam as the Reds won. When Bryan read that Bible quote earlier, he was not
referring to the White Sox, that's for sure. My lord, they need help. And the Braves sure aren't
going to give it to him. Their own first base coach doesn't even want to be out there,
with the game literally getting delayed because the White Sox didn't have a first base coach at
one point. Bros, like we're not even 4 games into the season, like I'm done. That was also just the
5th most embarrassing thing that happened for them, in a 9-0 loss where the Braves had a blast.
The Orioles-Royals game had some blasts, Bobby Witt Jr., Salvador Perez, Ryan Mountcastle,
and then Jordan Westberg to walk things off in the 9th. The Rockies walked into Wrigley Field
thinking they were going to win a baseball game, but Shota Imanaga, making his major league debut,
had something to say about that.
Fernando Tatis Jr. hit another moon bomb, but unfortunately in another loss,
this time to the Cardinals, who other than a couple of homers, pitched real well while
having their big guns do the damage on offense, just like the Mariners did in the 2nd inning of
their game, putting up 4 runs but having to hold onto a close win as the Guardians almost came
back. Something the Giants didn't do, they most definitely didn't almost come back. James Paxton
did the old 5-walk, 5-strikeout outing for his first win as a Dodger. Mookie keeps on rolling,
Teoscar Hernandez can't stop hitting home runs, Dodgers on top, I'll see you tomorrow.
