RV'ing at the International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico!

Van and RV trips around the world

Right after the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series season finale, we headed West towards Albuquerque, NM to the 2023 International Balloon Fiesta! On our first full day in New Mexico, we got to experience waking up with the hot air balloons right outside our RV and, after the morning session, explored the Sandia Peak Tramway. The Balloon Fiesta was a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend snagging an RV spot when they open up in January 2024!

We drove all the way, well we didn't drive.
Josh drove all the way from Pays to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The kids and I flew in last night.
We are going to be here for four nights and three days at the International Balloon Fiesta
in Albuquerque, New Mexico and this is actually really cool. Josh is not as impressed but he's
also not not impressed. It's pretty cool huh? All I see is the sun. So this is the first morning
we're here and apparently the wind's a little too bad so they're not ascending up into the sky today.
It's just going to be static on the ground but we have two other mornings that we can see it ascend
but what I think is absolutely fantastic is the fact that we can be under here directly
under the balloons when they go up so I cannot wait for that to happen. But tomorrow, actually today,
they get in today? Abby. Abby and the girls are going to be getting in today and we're going to
see my older brother and his wife who live here but we're on a mission to find coffee. Yes we are.
Go check out Jason's Road, it's my YouTube channel.
We are literally right under them.
Was that cool Jaden? Frosty Melted.
We're gonna go walk through the vendor area now, try to get some breakfast. Josh, go get food.
All right, I love you. We'll see you guys when you get here. I love you too. All right, bye.
Everything is done for the morning session. All the balloons are put down so we've decided
that in between the sessions, actually we're gonna go have a dinner at my brother and my
sister-in-law's house tonight but before that we are going to go on the SkyTram.
I think that's the mountain we're going all the way up to.
I mean I don't see any other mountains around here so I'm guessing it's that one.
Everyone else left me so we're gonna make our way back, walk back over to the RV spot.
So back in, I want to say it's January, is when they opened up the RV reservations. They sell out
super quick. It's almost like a lottery system so I hopped on and luckily was able to get a spot.
So we are literally walking distance. We don't have to worry about getting up and
parking anywhere at 4 30 in the morning. We can just wake up in our RV, walk outside and head
back. In fact, I think that's my spot right there. Maybe. I think I'm going in the right direction
but either way it makes it incredibly convenient and we're so lucky we were able to get this.
Here's our spot. It's no uh you know Zion or Yosemite or Green Canyon but
it's not that bad. It's pretty big. You can see the mountains. I mean it's literally you're in a
parking lot but it makes it really convenient for the morning and the afternoon sessions.
Two hours later. We are headed to, what is it called? Sandia. Mountains. We're going up a mountain, right?
We're going up a mountain. Really really high. Sandia tram. That's what I put in. Sandia tram.
We are at 6,500 feet currently. I don't want to lose. Why is it so high?
I think we gained 10,000 feet. 10,000? I think we gained 10,000 feet is what it said.
That'll put us at 16,000. That's like the highest peak in North America. No, don't tell me it goes that
slow. No, I don't. We might get to 10,000. I'm child-washed in here. That's what we're going on
and it goes way up there. Jason's the most excited. We went from one waiting area
to another waiting area to another third waiting area.
It looks bigger when it's close up, huh? Yeah.
Look, there's two little kids in the front that survived.
We are going to get in another one of these and we're going to go down.
Is it like that? Are your ears popping?
Are your ears going down?
All right, was that as bad as you thought it would be?
That was pretty cool, huh? Except someone passed out. Okay, that happens.
I don't know how physics work.
Pretty. We're going to a place where it's like 26 degrees. It should be about 40 here.
We're gonna see if we can find some hiking or something
besides touring the restaurant and the restrooms.
Climbed a mountain.
Josh, hold on to her.
I don't know if I really want to go on that trail. Neither do I.
Out of all the trails, that's the one you choose. There's this one
or this one. Remember our two months trip where we went on that one hike where you're
hanging to the wall? Yes. That was that was that reminds me of that. No, that wasn't the kebab.
Canyon. Canyon trail. Jayden, come here. I don't know what your father is doing.
No, you are not going over there. I'll show you my balance when I'm done. Not the whole time but
I'm gonna pick you up right now because I don't trust you. You have to trust. I don't trust you.
Yes, trust. This India Mountain wilderness. Mommy, can we go hiking? This is boring.
Mom, can Jason never be in trouble?
So we're not gonna go that trail. We're going to go
on this loop which is away from that ledge. Get yourself a stick? Stick. All right, ready?
Let's go. We say it should take about 30 minutes,
quarter mile and this is why we're not going on the trail by the ledge.
All right, let's go.
He's not gone. He's still there. He's pretty tame. Like he's like,
yeah, I'm not worried about you. What do we do? As you get closer, go.
They're the same kind of deer that's around Johnny.
I actually don't get hurt by the prickles.
Thank God that wasn't a bear. Did you see the deers?
Isn't it nice how God made these almost like steps?
And we're back.
It was pretty neat. Nice little easy trail.
We got some swag.
All right.
How was it? Was that fun? Yeah. All right, that is day one at the International Balloon Fiesta
and we saw the balloons today and we went to the Sandia Peak Tramway. Now we're actually
gonna be going and having dinner with my brother and my sister-in-law, meeting up with my other
sister in her case and then hopefully get to see the balloons ascend tomorrow. So we're gonna close
this out tonight but we will see you for the next video tomorrow. Oh yeah, one more thing.
It was right off of us because they broke. Yep, he broke his glasses. All right, we'll get another
one. All right, until next time, we think you'll enjoy one of these other videos. Hey, wait up.
Thanks for watching. Bye. Check out Trisha's world.
