All right, so Adam and I have made our way over to Palm Springs.
We're going to ride the Palm Canyon Epic today.
It's a little chilly.
We feel like we're going to probably hit 30 miles today, but less climbing than we did
even yesterday.
Extra 10 miles when we get last.
Exactly.
Uphill, both ways.
A little moisture on the rotors.
A little moisture on the trail.
Hero sand.
I think that was my first real jump.
Watch out for that cacti.
Oh, yeah.
Brought along five Larabars today.
Some dried pineapple.
Decent amount of water, even though it's not a warm day, but you still need it.
Getting started right.
I love it.
This is lovely.
Somebody took out that thing.
My legs are tight already.
Yeehaw.
That was a great beginning.
Probably the best ever start to any trail.
I say we check the map just in case.
That'd be funny.
Because we're no...
Yeah.
That road went straight there.
That'd be horrible if we went that way.
We good.
Woo, get set.
Oh, ----.
Wasn't ready for that.
I have a feeling this is going to be one of those trails that's going to throw surprises at you.
Yeah, it's a lot of...
Already.
All of a sudden it's going to be like, hairpin.
Yeah.
Riding blind.
Oh, left turn.
Nope.
Oh, that's tough.
Nice job.
Here we go.
Chunder.
Oh, man.
Super tight.
This is going to make for a great extended cut for you guys supporting me on Patreon.
Oh, man.
Some good stuff.
It just kind of tosses you around a little bit.
Smiles for miles.
Reattach.
Oh, yeah.
Loosey goosey.
A little slippery on the outside.
Into the cacti.
That thing got me.
Yeah.
Hard left.
Lots of exposure.
Working our way through it.
Pretty cool.
Like I said, it's not my favorite, but it's still fun.
Yeah, exactly. I agree.
Because you can't really let loose.
No, just full mental concentration.
A couple little pieces got me.
The wide bars just make it that much more spicy.
Exactly.
Into the sand pit.
Always good for the drivetrain.
Big old slapper.
Dangerous.
Didn't get me.
That was cool.
A whole bunch of different stuff out here.
Oh, yeah.
Good stuff.
Oh, man.
Oh, that cactus got me.
Me too. I got it too.
Right in the knuckle.
Right knuckle?
Yeah.
I don't see anything.
He gave me the warning.
I was able to avoid it.
Loose.
Worst transition possible for a loose breakout.
One foot.
Can't get away from them.
The cacti.
It's like we're in the desert or something.
Holy ----.
That looked bad.
I think this is the most that Urban waxed in the hand.
Yeah.
Most we've been attacked on the trail.
Sun's coming out. The jacket's off.
Oh, yeah.
Cool.
And back up.
Oh, there's grip. There's no grip.
So cool.
Oh, yeah.
Powerful.
A little bit reminded me of Captain Ahab.
Oh, yeah.
Oh.
I wonder how many tires and rims that thing has destroyed.
That was nice.
I'll be over here.
Good stuff.
Wow.
Yeah, that was great.
That's the wash section.
