Life on the road: In this episode, we finally make it to Waterton Lakes National Park where we get our first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains. From there we continue to enjoy the scenic views and wildlife as we drive into Kananaskis Country. Sit back and take a look at what life on the road is like. Grab a coffee or a pint and enjoy as we take you along for the journey. Thanks for watching !
Then turn left onto Wind Flower Avenue.
There's gophers all around our campsite here in the grass.
Yeah.
They keep popping their heads up.
So that sound you hear, that's them talking?
That's our alarm clock tomorrow morning.
Yeah, the spot's really nice so we asked if maybe we could stay a second night tomorrow but
we won't know until the time comes.
I think we might need to stay another night if we can.
It's busy here but it's still worth it.
I'm so tired.
You'll feel it.
Good morning mister.
Babe, we have a bear in our campsite.
So Kyle is currently getting us another site for tonight.
We loved it so much at Waterton so we're like let's just stay one more night.
So we had to wait till 11 o'clock just to get a first come first serve campsite.
So we're just kind of getting that now and yeah then we'll be camping here another night.
We're gonna check out the town and go from there.
Do you got a site?
The last one.
Are you a monkey?
Good boy.
These deer have no fear.
They just walk around town.
They'll walk right up to people.
Not like them and Daryl.
Hey jump.
Good boy.
Accomplished.
Hey Kevin.
Aww.
He's just contemplating, do I stay with my owners?
Well here we are again.
Back in the car.
In our cozy little domicile.
It's actually really cozy right now.
It is yeah.
It's raining outside.
The weather kind of snuck up on us but.
It was really cool seeing it come over the mountains.
We're staying at the beginning of Kananaskis so we can see all the clouds coming in over
the Rockies so.
It's not the camping we did vision but uh we're at the casino tonight.
Yes the Kananaskis casino.
It's pretty awesome.
They're uh they're really nice.
We just you go in and just say you're crashing in the parking lot.
There's a Timmy's and a gas station right in the parking lot over so we're all set for
the morning.
Yeah it's all all you need.
Diesel had a great birthday.
He is uh he is sleeping and snoring already but uh yeah we're excited to be here.
The mountains are something else I'll tell ya.
Yeah just kind of in awe.
Yeah.
Every time you're driving you just catch yourself I'm like oh yeah.
Forget you're driving.
I'm in heaven.
Tomorrow afternoon we get to check into a hotel so it'll be nice to have a real bed.
Yeah.
For a night.
Yeah I'm excited for that.
Maybe we'll gamble in the morning.
Before we head out.
We're gonna watch Stranger Things again because we can't we can't do much outside.
We have our our living room and then we.
I was like we were standing outside and I was like so where do you want to go in the
front seat or in the back?
Just because like we have to kind of arrange a few things but like even we just got in
now and I just changed into my comfy clothes and you know hunched over and trying to get
things but we honestly have it down to a science so it's it's truly normal now.
It gets very tight we won't lie especially with a third furry body breathing in here
in the back.
We love seeing everybody else's set up like truck campers, RVs, camper vans.
That's what we were originally going to do for this summer but it's just impossible to
find something for a decent price and that's not having a million kilometers on it already.
Yeah we did look so we figured you know we have this let's roll with what we got.
Yeah.
We can do it.
We're doing it.
But definitely our future goal because we have lots of trips planned for the future
so yeah.
Bye.
Good night everyone.
Good night.
Let's rock.
We are gonna leave the casino now of course get some breakfast at Timmy's.
We wanted to camp um in Kananaskis but in Alberta now you have to pay the the pass daily
which was like 30 bucks or something like that per day and because we would have been
sleeping over camping for the night you would have had to pay for the that night so 30 bucks
and then another 30 bucks on top of that for the next day after even though we were just
gonna leave in the morning.
Since the pass is only valid till midnight.
Plus your camping fee so it would have been like under 100 bucks just to camp.
For one night.
We're not electric.
Yeah we're like no I don't think so.
And the lady was super nice and informed us of the casino here that um is totally free.
All you have to do is just go inside and just give them your license plate um just let them
know you're gonna be there in the back and uh yeah it was super nice and quiet and everyone
was friendly and we have neighbors and a pretty nice view actually.
It's just the casino and a whole bunch of mountains across the street.
So yeah we are in the Rocky Mountains right now which is a lovely feeling.
See you tomorrow.
Yes you will.
