The Nature Conservancy (TNC) propone acompañar a los actores claves.

entering the Gran Chaco is entering the
heart of South America, the great Chaco beats
and does so without stridency without haste
but there it is beating strongly connecting
environments being a nexus and drive of life
The Gran Chaco is the largest Dry Forest
globally and For that and other
reasons, it is very valuable. There are 108 million
hectares of unique biodiversity
that covers Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and
Brazil, and the Chaco is of
fundamental importance for three main reasons. One
is a system that is connected to
other systems throughout Latin America.
Second reason is because it is a place of
wealth of nature like very few other
places on earth and third because it will
be a place to protect many
species from climate change and
also to produce to provide
ecosystem services to all
humanity when one walks in the great
Chaco, each step in its dry lands
cracks something in our memory and in
our conscience. And its
destruction has accelerated in recent
decades until its
heartbeat is endangered by the growing demand for
food translated into
soybean fields and new spaces for
cattle pasture were gaining territory and
degrading their soils, however, there is
the possibility of looking at the Gran Chaco in
this complexity and getting out of the false
dichotomy between production and
conservation is feasible since
we firmly believe that it is
possible to combine observation and
production in fact not only that it is
possible to combine it but that they are two
sides of the same coin, they are two
completely complementary approaches and
at tnc our great role is precisely that
of facilitator between the different
sectors of society to work towards
a common objective and This
common objective is shared by a large
part of society, a large part of
society wants a future where
nature is conserved, a large part of
society. I want a future where
food is produced and where
economic growth occurs to sustain the
populations that live. In these
very
unique places, the great Chaco has very
marked environments and the substantial difference is
the
water. The lack of water shows us an
arid rustic landscape of mountains and
wilderness and some lagoons sometimes created
by farmers to store
rainwater. quebrachos palo santo chaguar
occupy the land and dispute the
resources with the honey bear Los
Armadillos or the chancho qu melero
species that only breathe and live in
this part of the
planet here the challenge is for
large producers to be increasingly
profitable on the surfaces that
they cultivate and that the smallest farmers
find a business model
that allows them to live in and of the Monte in a
sustainable way, conserving
biodiversity with strong institutions
that make the heartbeats of the Gran
Chaco heard where important decisions are made,
one of the
strong approaches What tnc has is to be based on
scientific evidence And this is evidence
that is generated by
scientific literature that has been reviewed by
peers, so they have a robust level of
support and based on that
we build a great base to
later work with different sectors
of the society, then another of the
aspects that TNC has is to be a
facilitator, an articulator between
different sectors, to work towards
common objectives. Another of the
aspects of our work
is to achieve effects on a
large scale, so to work to
achieve that level of scale we
work a lot with organizations that
have a lot of presence in the territory with
many producer associations with
different
interest groups this is also the great
Chaco it is also
ecosystem services that must be preserved the
challenge is to create productive systems
that value natural environments and
thus limit the change in land use I
believe that the future is going to be spectacular,
I believe that tnc in the territory will be able to
achieve the impact that these critical environments
need, we are working with all
the sectors of society with which
we have to work, we are including
the different voices to the different
points of view to be able to reach
fundamental agreements to achieve
the conservation impacts that
we need in this

region Here and now the future is more than
ever the present the time is today there is
will there is commitment there is decision there is
joint work for preservation and
there is a great that if you see us United beats
stronger beats
[Music]
grateful and we have to hurry
because we have a window of the
next 10 years to achieve the
impact we need in this region
because climate change and
Environmental threats are not going to
wait for us, so the time to act is
today and for that our team is
working incessantly on the
largest dimensions of the environmental problems
that Chaco has at this moment and
I am sure that we will be able to achieve the
impact that we need to conserve
this region in the long term see you in
10 years see you in 10 years
