Today, the committee has responsibility for matters including telecommunications, consumer protection, food and drug safety, public health and research, environmental quality, energy policy, and interstate and foreign commerce among others.
The committee is led by Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Ranking Member Frank Pallone (D-NJ).

at the direction of your department Mr
secretary the NH continues to obstruct
the committee and cover for individuals
found to be committ who have committed
sexual harassment or abuse at nah funded
inst institutions including many
convicted of crimes in February of this
year the committee subpoenaed the
National Institutes of Health for
documents related to NIH handling of
sexual harassment complaints HHS has
redacted the names of the disciplined
terminated resigned or transferred
abusers including individuals who were
convicted of crimes why are you
protecting the identities of the abusers
and the institutions who house them from
being shown to Congress even though that
that was subpoena by Congress this year
did you actually physically read The
subpoena I saw the subpoena so you read
it and did it ask for the
names because the subpoena asked for
something does it mean that doesn't mean
you're going to comply with it why are
you not releasing the names to Congress
when we act we have to act according to
the law and there are still laws that
protect privacy interest you need to
stop withholding critical information
from this committee and stop protecting
the sexual abusers the victims deserve
full accountability and justice
