What's going on guys? Kevin here and today I want to share with you guys my favorite places in Twin
Falls, Idaho. Twin Falls is in South Central Idaho and is a hidden gem for exploring and adventure.
It's a beautiful area with so many waterfalls, activities, and cool places to see. Twin Falls
is famous for the Snake River Canyon which creates a boundary between Twin Falls County and Rome
County. There's breathtaking views in every direction from the Snake River. It's a great
place for fishing, hiking, and boating among other things. Bree and I spent a few days there
recently and we were blown away with how many cool things there were to do in the area. But real quick
if you don't mind please give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel. It means the
world to me. It helps me out so much. There's tons of other videos on my channel from traveling
around the states, visiting 50 countries, hiking, climbing, and much more. But without further ado
let's hop right into my top eight places to visit in Twin Falls, Idaho.
First up is going to be Perrine Coulee Falls which is an incredible waterfall practically
in the city of Twin Falls. Dropping almost 200 vertical feet this waterfall is beautiful and it
runs year-round. We actually stayed at the Quality Inn Hotel and this waterfall was only about a
third of a mile from our hotel room which I thought was so cool. We woke up for sunrise and it was
the shortest sunrise mission we've ever had. There are awesome views from the bottom of the canyon
as well as the top of the waterfall that provide some great walkways up top. You can hike behind
the waterfall and just enjoy kind of messing around the area and hiking around the back.
But if you want to just see the waterfall view from afar you don't actually need to
Next up is going to be Shoshone Falls which is just about 15 minutes from Twin Falls, Idaho. I've
been to this waterfall a few times and every time it blows me away. It is referred to as the Niagara
of the West. It's definitely a must-see in the area. The park is open from 8am to 10pm and it
costs $5 per car to enter Shoshone Falls. But for the park the fee is actually only in effect from
March 1st to September 30th so you don't need to pay the fee year-round. Season passes are $25
at the park and rec booth if you would like that. You can expect to spend two to four hours here and
I definitely recommend packing a picnic. It's a great area for it. The observation deck for the
is practically at the parking lot so this is a great place that is accessible to everyone.
Next up at number three is going to be Auger Falls which is just a few minutes down the road
from Perrine Coulee Falls. Auger Falls Heritage Park is a 680 acre natural park located next to
the Snake River. It's a great place to experience the different landscapes of the Snake River Canyon
and it's also a great destination for mountain biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, and hiking.
If you would like to hike to the falls you will park at Auger Falls trailhead and then it's a nice
and easy four mile round trip hike with only 367 feet of elevation gain. Trailhead is a dirt road
but any car can make it. We were driving a Toyota Corolla and it was just fine. Easy easy road.
At number four we have Perrine Memorial Bridge which is the bridge you will pass if you are
driving to Twin Falls from the north on highway 93. It's one of the most beautiful bridges and
pieces of architecture I have ever seen. The bridge is 486 feet tall and is 1500 feet long.
Construction on the bridge started in 1926 but the bridge wasn't actually open until 1976,
50 years later. There are pedestrian walkways that give you beautiful views of the canyon
and river below and this is a great place for base jumpers to jump and launch their parachute.
We actually saw a few base jumpers when we were photographing sunset one day but I was too far
away to see them but she was definitely freaking out. She thought it was so cool. At number five we
have more of a unique visit. Typically I like to share beautiful landscapes and hikes in my travel
guides but this place is more a piece of history and just a crazy sight to see in person. This is
Evel Knievel's Snake River Canyon jump site. Just a few minutes east of Twin Falls you will find the
exact jump site where Evel Knievel attempted to jump over the Snake River in a steam-powered
rocket which is just mind-blowing honestly. Evel Knievel was a notorious motorcycle daredevil in
the 1900s if you don't already know and even the quarter mile wide Snake River Canyon didn't scare
him off. The jump was ultimately a fail due to a malfunction in his equipment but he is still a
legend around the world and in Twin Falls, Idaho. Number six we've got Pillar Falls which is a
beautiful swimming hole just a little ways down east from Perrine Memorial Bridge and just west
of Shoshone Falls. You can hike down to Pillar Falls from a pretty steep access road but most
people actually just paddle to Pillar Falls on a kayak from Centennial Park. If you do the hike it
is 1.7 miles round trip with 433 feet of elevation gain straight down to the river at the bottom of
the canyon. If you paddle there it is relatively easy. There's a nice picnic area and plenty of
room to go fishing at Centennial Park and that is where you're going to start the paddle and there's
also places to rent a kayak or paddleboard if you're traveling and don't have one with you.
Number seven is Twin Falls Park and this is kind of a confusing one to find. Every time I researched
this place Google Images just showed me photos of Shoshone Falls and all the information in Google
map pins would just pop up the town of Twin Falls since it has the same name but if you look a few
miles east of downtown Twin Falls along the Snake River you will find Twin Falls Park and the city
of Twin Falls actually took its name from this waterfall. Twin Falls Park used to be a massive
flowing waterfall. It is actually a dam along the Snake River and the park uses the water for
hydroelectricity so they diverted the water away from the waterfall itself but the dam and the park
itself are still an incredible place to visit with amazing views of the canyon and the dam
and this is an awesome place for a picnic as well. Last up at number eight is simply going to be the
Snake River in Idaho. The whole video I've been talking about the Snake River but I've only
scratched the surface. The Snake River is a natural attraction through Idaho and Wyoming. The river cut
through ancient basalt lava flows forming the canyon that runs more than 50 miles. If you follow
the Snake River in either direction from Twin Falls you will find a bunch of awesome attractions
and scenic views that I did not cover in this video. Again I only scratched the surface there's
so much to do in southern Idaho. There's more waterfalls, geothermal hot springs, cool Airbnb
stays along the Snake River and much more in the surrounding areas. But anyways guys that's it for
this video. If you're still watching thank you so much it means the world to me and again if you
haven't already please like the video and subscribe to the channel as I can't tell you
how much it helps me out to continue to make these videos and travel guides for all of you to enjoy.
Till next time I hope to see you guys on a future video and if you have any questions
please leave them down below in the comments.
