(Laliga 2023/2024): Highlights VILLARREAL - ATLÉTICO MADRID

At the end of the season, but Atletico Madrid need to improve a lot, especially away, as you said. And today, they are playing not different, but with a lot of risk. It's from a corner, and this time Villarreal don't defend as they should. And Witzel nods on, and it's gone into the inside of the netting. Differently, yeah. Here's Memphis, Llorente's in the area, he finds him too, what a save that is from Jorgensen. And Llorente, we know, has a good eye for goal. Grinkel with the block, Guedes needs to be careful. Parejo, loose foul, it's not given, there's the first-time shot. And that's landed just above the crossbar there, I think it's Riquelme with the snapshots. Nice one, finishing it. Moreno, the edge of the area, Moreno squares the ball. It was Kapua waiting for it to come down, spectacular stuff, that goes just wide. No, it's Kokelan, Kokelan. Good determination from Gerald Moreno. Gives it away cheaply, Atletico do likewise. Here's Moreno, there's the ball, and there is the goal. He's had one shot all night, that's it, and that's all he needs. He's buried it on his left foot into the bottom corner. Four minutes of the second half gone, Villarreal have started very positively indeed. They get the reward, it's 1-1 in La Zaramiga. It is nothing. That's Pelegueta, Llorente calling for it down the channel. And does very well indeed to hold the ball. Here's the shot from Correa. And that was close, looking at Simeone's reaction. Nice ball here from Azpilicueta. The one point, sees them stay fifth. We'll come back down in a moment. Baena, Baena dancing. Baena with a backheel, that would have been one of the goals of the season. Baena again with the potential assist. It's Correa, brilliance. The substitute could have won this for Atletico right at the death here. Three minutes of normal time to goal. Make that, see that Azpilicueta very clever assist and how Saúl very calmly, clinical finish, just like a pass. He's passed it on by Melero López. Atletico celebrate a huge, huge win as Saúl comes off the bench with a vital goal. That sees Atletico up against it in the second half. Get a vital goal and Jofra go back top four. Yes, important win, three points.
