(Bundesliga 2023/2024): Highlights Bayern München - FC Köln

Let's see if there are additional problems for Bayern to deal with. Damian with the pass, and Alidu, he found space! And it's wrong side of the post, Farid Alidu. ...between those three, Alidu, Maina and Kainz, as this game progresses for Körn. And Thielmann missed that one, Tell after Guerreiro did well, and pushed away by Schwebe, who's been excellent this season. Marvin Schwebe... Maina, Vardy Körner... I think Gräfer this time able to get forwards, and Damian in the middle, Ulrich, managed to push it away. But you're absolutely right, traffic was a mess around here. Well, we're delighted to have you on board with us now, as we watch as Harry Kane tries to slide a crew, and what an opportunity! But there is Schwebe to make the save, with Guerreiro right in front of him. ...trying to get there, but it's a high foot. This was well played though, Harry Kane, a little bumpy that pass to Guerreiro, and he could really choose the corner, decided for the long one, the left corner, from his point of view, but Marvin Schwebe with a great reaction, great save. In his first season with Die Münchner Bayern, Joshua Kimmich, there's Hübers. Make a drink to him, you would think, but Kane, all of a sudden! Oh, and how on earth did that not go in? That's a good way of putting it, Derek. That was a very huge chance, it was well played there. The awareness of Thomas Müller, who knew that Kane was behind him, just gives that ball a little flick with the heel, and Harry Kane does everything right-like on that position. And again Alidou with a big chance for Cologne. Now Müller, and here's Tell, who takes him! And with that, the halftime whistle is sounded here at the Allianz Arena. Well, Harry Kane has had three looks at goal, took him a while to get started though, and Cologne didn't even allow the refereeing team or the VAR to do something about it. Everyone just forgot about it, and here's Kimmich keeping it on the ground. Guerreiro! Oh, it's a beauty! That was magnificent! A sweet strike, and the breakthrough for Bayern. Schwebe beaten. Staunch rear-guard action from Cologne here at the Allianz Arena. Bayern with the lead. Yeah, way too much space there for Rapha Guerreiro and his left foot, and I've seen it so often for Dortmund, and now of course also for Bayern Munich, how precise, how strong his left foot really is. This is why he likes to play in the centre, to be able to use that foot heavily going on target, and he curls that ball beautifully into the left corner of the goal. That's just nothing to do there for Marvin Schwebe, who had a fantastic game and saved everything they were throwing at him, but this one was just too good of Rapha Guerreiro. And Waldschmidt always giving it to Thomas Müller, who wasn't going to miss. That puts the exclamation mark on him. Into the net, and he did so, Thomas Müller, of course, so experienced. With a goal after he'd put the ball into his own net. This match is over, and a win for Bayern, a confidence booster in terms of the result ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second-leg meeting with Arsenal. Pair of second-half goals, Raphael Guerreiro with a stunner from outside the area, and Thomas Müller then with a second one for insurance.
