I was out and about and I passed H&M so I thought I'd pop inside and see what they've got new in
store. There were lots of gorgeous summer dresses. I thought these all look really beautiful. I loved
the colour of this one. Blue and white always look so crisp and fresh together. This has got an
elasticated bodice and I'm not sure, I think you can wear the shoulders either up on the shoulders
or more like an off the shoulder top, so potentially it could be quite versatile.
As well as day dresses, they had quite a few what I would call beach style dresses. You know,
there's kind of dresses that you could just throw over your beach wear and your swimwear when you're
on holiday and this one would be perfect for that. This dress is an exact remake of a dress that they
released a few years back. I've actually got the dress but when I bought it, it didn't particularly
fit me very well at the time but I've lost a little bit of weight now so I'm actually going
to give this dress another try. It also comes in a sort of a taupe colour with the pinstripe which
I thought looked really nice and I tried one of these on in the dressing room. I'd say it's a tad
on the short side but it's a nice fitting dress and as I say it does look quite smart. Another
dress that I saw in store was this floral dress. It is a fitted dress, it's got a split up the
front of the dress and it's got puff sleeves which fit across the shoulders just like an off the
shoulder top. They didn't actually have my size in store but I managed to get it online and I got
this in a size small. It's a linen blend and it cost £44.99. I thought this would be a lovely
dress for a wedding and I'm really gutted because last year I was searching high and low for a
wedding dress, couldn't find anything I really liked. This would have been absolutely perfect
but that's how it goes isn't it? So I've tried this with a few different shoes actually. I've tried it
with some little white strappy shoes. Now I saw these in store, these are a terrific height. They've
got a little heel which is quite chunky, they're elasticated at the back. They just give you that
little bit of height but still being really walkable. Because it's a floral print there is
quite a lot of red in the dress so I wanted to see what it would look like with a belt and I thought
because of the red flowers in the print I'd try it with a red belt. Now this is not a real belt,
it's actually the strap from one of my handbags. So just to give it a try I've put that around the
dress and instead of the white shoes I've put the dress with my nude heels. Personally I think I
prefer the dress with the belt and with the nude heels. I think the belt elevates the dress a
little bit and because of the style of the dress I like it with a higher heel. I had a closer look
at the sleeves on the dress. I actually think if you can sew you can probably remove the sleeves.
There's plenty of fabric there. I think you could probably make some thin straps from that fabric
and completely alter the dress. Another dress that I spotted in store was this green dress.
I thought this would make a lovely little day dress in the summertime. It's very thin, possibly
you might need a slip underneath it but in hot weather this would be great to wear and it can
be worn with different styles of shoes to mix it up a little bit. I've tried it with flat sandals
and with a pair of wedges. Now these sandals actually come from Marks & Spencers. I think
they were around about £22 something like that. Really comfortable. They've got padding at the
bottom so they're actually quite nice to wear and the wedges that I'm wearing, these are quite old
actually. I can't remember where I got them from, possibly June or somewhere like that.
And the bag is quite recent. This one is from Marks & Spencers. It's got a little tie belt
around the waist but that could be swapped for another style belt if you don't like it.
Now one thing I will say about this dress, it is quite big. I got it in a size small and with
the belt tied you can see around the middle it's quite gathered so I would suggest going down a
size if you did like this dress. Something I think that H&M do really well is linen shirts.
They've always got a great selection in different colours. I love this pink one.
They had them in white, in beige. I thought this blue one was a stunning colour and a blue and
white striped shirt is so handy to have in a spring summer wardrobe. If you don't like linen
I did happen to see this one too. It's very similar to the lily silk shirt but this is
more of a budget friendly one. This would look gorgeous with some white wide leg trousers.
I did see some in store which I thought were a nice fabric. They had some weight to them and
some body but they weren't thick so I'll leave a link to them and everything else in this video
down below. As well as the long sleeve linen shirts I did see this short sleeve version
which I thought was a nice alternative and I think this could look really great just very
simply worn with some white shorts or some white jeans maybe as well and I did also spot this shirt
in a different colour. I would call it maybe an olive or a sage green colour. In fact there was
actually quite a lot of that colour in store. Something else I spotted in that colour was this
long sleeve linen shirt and I fell in love with this. Now I actually picked this up in a size
extra small. I had a feeling after seeing it in the store that it was going to come up quite big
and I'm really not into that big oversized look and I also wanted to be able to wear it
loose over trousers over shorts but also I wanted to be able to tuck it in as well. So I went for
extra small and yeah I think it was the perfect choice. It cost £27.99 and I've put it here
together with some plain white jeans these are from Marks and Spencer's and some tan sandals
again from Marks and Spencer's and a tan belt. This is a colour combination that I absolutely love
a sage green or an olive green with white and tan it really does look terrific together. So I've
worn it two ways tucked in and left loose as well. Sometimes you just want a really nice easy going
sort of casual top that you just feel really comfortable in especially when it's really hot
so that's why I thought going a little bit smaller would be ideal. I don't know about you but I do
tend to wear white jeans quite a lot in the spring and summer time but I still love to wear my blue
jeans as well. I saw these hidden away they're right at the back but I really love the colour
of these. They're a boot cut which we all know can be really flattering and I thought these could
look very nice worn with different tops throughout the spring summer. Just put them together with
this black off the shoulder top now this actually comes from Zara and as you can see it's got long
sleeves. Now I love these jeans but they do come up long I can't wear them with flat shoes they'll
just drag completely on the floor so I've put them with a little heel. Now these are the shoes that
I'm actually wearing them with they're a strappy block heel sandal. I got these in a size seven
and I'd say the heel is perhaps maybe two, two and a half inches high but under the jeans they're the
perfect height and these cost £19.99. Something that I saw a lot of in store were wide leg
linen or linen blend style trousers they were absolutely everywhere in all different colours
they're beige, navy, black, green, there was so much choice it was actually a little bit
overwhelming where to start and as well as some of them being a wider leg they also had more
tapered styles, jogger styles, something for everyone there really was. Now just like the jeans
these come up really really long on me I just simply can't wear them with sandals or trainers or
any kind of flat shoes they just hang on the floor. Not helped by the fact that I tend to prefer to
wear my trousers a little bit lower so I tend not to wear them around my waist if I can and these
are elasticated so I can just drop them down to a more comfortable position. I think they'll be very
easy to take up actually but just for the purpose of the video I've put the nude sandals underneath
just so you can see what the trousers actually look like. So these are a beige style wide leg
trouser I got these in a size small and these were £19.99. They are very comfortable just the perfect
trousers to take away on holiday with you maybe to put them on over swimwear and then just layered
with a really nice easygoing linen shirt and then to the outfit you could add a gorgeous raffia bag.
I also got these trousers in green they're a dark khaki green and again in size small. I like
green and black worn together so I've simply layered them over the top of a black vest top
and again put it together with the raffia bag. As well as green they come in blue, white, the
beige ones I've already shown you and also in black as well. I didn't pick them up in black
in this style but I did pick up another pair of black linen trousers to show you. These are also
a linen blend I got these in a size small they cost £22.99 so a tiny bit more expensive than
the other ones. These have got an elasticated waist no drawstring and they've got pockets and
they also have a little seam running out the front as well. These are also very very comfortable but
just like the last ones they're way too long on me so like before I'm wearing them with the same
sandals but ideally you'd want to wear these with a really great pair of flat sandals or perhaps even
trainers. Online I found a very nice silk crepe top I think it's part of their premium range and
it's actually very beautiful. It's one of those tops that you will be able to keep in your wardrobe
for a very long time. Now I wasn't actually sure what size to get so I got size 10 and I would say
I think I would have been better going down a size to a size 8. It comes up quite big, it's not so
much the length but it's underneath the arms that's where you really notice it so a slightly
smaller size would have been better. I've also tried layering the trousers and the top with the
green shirt over the top I think already mentioned I love green and black together so it's a nice
easy breezy outfit nice and loose and casual but comfy. As well as there being lots of linen
wide leg style trousers in store there are also lots of shorts. I was actually really impressed
with the selection of shorts on offer they had stripy elasticated waist ones they had more fitted
style tailored shorts there was a huge selection of different colours so if you're in the market
for shorts maybe for an upcoming holiday at the time I went in there there was plenty to choose
from. I like the colour and the style of these shorts in different lights they look a different
colour they're described as light khaki green sometimes to me they look more beige sometimes
they look more green so it's quite difficult to tell. I got these in a size 10 and they are a
linen blend short and they were £18.99. I put them with the one shoulder top and all with tan
accessories tan sandals tan belt and with the raffia bag. I would say these shorts are not the
kind of shorts that you would want to wear to the beach for example they're more of a short that you
would be wearing if you're going out sightseeing or maybe out for lunch or something like that
because they do up with the button and two hooks and eyes and I just think when you go to the beach
you just want something that you can pull on really quickly and comfortably. Saying that though
these are comfortable and I absolutely love the colour even though I'm not quite sure which colour
they are. They're a lovely fabric and they've got lots of movement to them. As well as with the one
shoulder top I've tried layering them with the khaki green shirt over the top. The shirt is
darker than the shorts but they work together and I've changed the one shoulder top to a simple
white vest top this is from Marks and Spencer's. I've put it together with a crossbody bag and the
strappy sandals. These shorts come in different colours they come in white you can get them in
light beige black and also navy. Now I picked up the navy ones they're exactly the same style
they say they're the same fabric but they actually feel very different on. The fabric is slightly
thicker I would say and it doesn't have quite as much movement as the beige ones do. Navy blue
shorts go hand in hand with a striped top so I've put these shorts together with my little stripy
off the shoulder top from Goelia. I've worn that tucked in and put a belt over the top but any kind
of striped t-shirt top would work with the navy blue shorts. I've tried it another way with a
vest style striped top again from Goelia and I've actually tried layering the green khaki shirt over
the top. I like green and navy blue together as a colour combination so I like how this all works
together. Now these next shorts are practically the same style as the linen blend shorts but these
are a much thinner fabric and perhaps a tad see-through as well. I've got these in beige and black
the beige has quite yellow tones to it almost mustardy so they're much darker than the other
ones I just showed you. Again they are more of a smarter style shorts I personally wouldn't wear
these to the beach but day-to-day absolutely perfect. Both the pairs of shorts I've put together
with the little silk crepe top that I showed you earlier and I've just tucked that in added a tan
belt tan shoes and the raffia bag. A really nice simple easygoing outfit with shorts. With the
black ones I've also tried layering the green khaki shirt over the top for a nice easy relaxed outfit
and swapped the bag for a crossbody bag. These shorts are actually more expensive than the other
ones they're £21.99 which I'm actually quite surprised about I thought it would be the other
way around. Now one other pair of shorts that I did pick up which are definitely more a beach style
short are these black ones they're elasticated around the waist they've got a drawstring at the
front they're a linen blend and they are a pull-on style short so great to wear over swimwear. These
come up quite big though I got these in a size small but I'd still go down one size further
they'd still be more than big enough. These are a terrific price they're £12.99 just a nice
simple but comfortable pair of shorts and if you look after them and take care of them there's no
reason why these can't be in a holiday capsule wardrobe for years to come. Now I know lots of
ladies don't like wearing shorts I completely get it so if you want some more alternatives to wear
instead of shorts then hop on over to this video and watch this one next. It'll give you some outfit
ideas if shorts really aren't your thing.
