Управлението на цар Иван Александър - Човекът и обществото 4 клас |

Hello! This lesson is about Tsar Ivan Aleksandar's administration. In 1331, Tsar Ivan Aleksandar became the head of the Bulgarian state. He ruled until 1371. The tsar was known as a skilled diplomat. He managed to stabilize Bulgaria by leading a balanced and wise policy towards his neighboring states. During Tsar Ivan Aleksandar's administration, Bulgaria saw a cultural flourishing. Many rock monasteries and churches, wall paintings, icons and priceless manuscripts were created. Some of them are preserved to this day. This period is called the Second Golden Age. At the end of his administration, Tsar Ivan Aleksandar divided Bulgaria between his two sons, and in the northeastern part, Dobrotitsa was separated from Bulgaria. In the 14th century, a plague epidemic spread throughout Europe. It took the lives of many, as entire regions in the Bulgarian kingdom were depopulated. In the same century, the Ottoman Turks participated in the battles between Bulgaria and Byzantium. In the middle of the century, they permanently settled on the Balkan Peninsula. In 1393, despite the heroic defense led by Patriarch Eftimiy, the city of Tarnovo was taken over by the Ottoman Turks. In 1396, the city of Vidin fell. Thus, the Bulgarian kingdom ceased to exist. The Bulgarians, however, did not leave their homes and continued to live in their lands. If you like to learn with Academico, subscribe to the channel and watch more video lessons!
