Hola! Today's video is all about a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site,
the Royal Alcázar of Seville.
With more than a thousand years of history, Alcázar is the oldest and one of the most
beautiful royal palaces in Spain. It's not just a building,
it's a whole complex of palaces, buildings and gorgeous gardens.
This place was used for government buildings during the 10th century,
but the Moors destroyed it after arriving in Seville, and only Palacio del Yeso stands strong today.
When King Fernando III recaptured Seville from the Moorish, he transformed it into a Christian
palace, with a mudéjar style which is a confluence of Moorish and Christian art.
The Royal Alcázar and its gardens have been used often as filming locations for movies
and television, like the famous series Game of Thrones.
Alcázar has an important connection with America after the conquest of Cristóbal Colón.
It was the place where they organized the travel and where they bring the important goods,
products and also the plant seeds, like tobacco, cacao, pumpkin and more.
This is the oldest European palace that is still in use today,
and actually is one of the most important tourist spots of Spain.
Aside from the amazing palace, Alcázar Gardens is also magnificent.
This breathtaking garden has over 20,000 plants, so it's really a great way to end a day trip in
Alcázar by walking around the beautiful plants, fountains and flowers.
Real Alcázar Sevilla is one of the top and most popular tourist sites to see in my beautiful city.
So here is my top tips before visiting.
Hola!
So the first will be book your ticket online ahead of time,
because if you don't mind to wait one to two hours in a long line under the hot sun of Seville,
I recommend you to check the link in the description of my video
where you can book your ticket in the Alcázar Sevilla.
You can choose different options to buy your ticket,
but if you want to know the history about the palace,
I recommend you to book your ticket with a tour guide.
He will tell you everything about it and those little details that not everyone knows.
Alcázar location is in the center of the city, just in front of the cathedral.
And depends what time you will do your visit,
I will recommend you to have a lunch of an appetizer in the calle Mateos Gago.
You can check my playlist about what to eat or what to drink in Seville.
I hope you love Alcázar like my little boy who loves the gardens and the friendly pavo real.
