Graham's Port Lodge Tour Review: Is It Worth it? Should you Go

Today we are going to be talking about crams. They're one of the biggest names in port wine
and they have a very iconic and visible presence in Gaia up on the mountain,
commanding view of Gaia, the river, and Porto, and they've been making
incredible wine for many, many years. I feel that the grams tour is a great tour
for anyone who's interested in learning more about port wine or wants to experience
some really rare, unique wines. Grams is a solid tour information-wise. A couple caveats.
They do require reservation, which can be done completely online. You can book it and pay for
it online and then you can also make changes to those bookings, of course, when you arrive.
The last time we went, my wife and I, I ended up booking us the same tasting and afterwards
was thinking like maybe we should have gotten different tastings so we could trade back and
forth and it was zero problems when we got there. They actually recommended I do like this grand
tasting and then I think we bought her like one glass of wine so each person had, you know,
purchased something and then, you know, we both traded, you know, the wines back and forth.
So the tour itself, like I said, very solid, very reliable, lots of great information.
Grams certainly has a history with port wine and port two and it is evident that they
know what they're doing. I do highly recommend this tour. It is a beautiful location. It is,
as I said, information-packed, knowledgeable tour guides. It's a very nice experience.
You get to see not only the rows and rows of aging barrels and vats but also a legitimate,
you know, vintage bottle aging area. They have vintages going back for
a hundred plus years and one of the most important things about the Grams tour
is I believe that of the tours I've done so far and I've done almost all of them,
Grams is the gold standard for the premium tasting room. So the short answer for this one
is the tour of the Grams cellar is highly recommended. I think it's one of the better tours
in Gaia. Again, you do need reservations and the only other thing I would add is that
while it is very visible from the waterfront in Gaia, it is a bit of a walk up the hill to get to
it and you actually have to, if you're walking from the Gaia waterfront, you have to go up and
kind of like walk around it and come in like the official entrance. I recommend taking a taxi or an
Uber. If you're visiting us in the summer like a lot of people do, by the time you climb up that
hill you're probably going to be hot and sweaty and it's not going to be a great experience. So
best bet, Uber or taxi is going to drop you right where you need to be
and that's pretty much all you need to know. A highly recommended tour,
book online and let me know your thoughts.
