So we're very lucky tonight, not only has Troy Boy bought us several different Peronis,
this one's the Grand Reserva Puro Molto Premium Lager. I've also got a very special guest,
Shauna, who is going to review with me today. So say hello Shauna.
Shauna, I appreciate you inviting me along to the show because you have a different way
of expressing how your flavours feel in your mouth. So you've got a talent and you've got
I'm going to do my review and then we're going to have Shauna do the review.
Give us the front of the tongue. Do you move from the front of the tongue to the back of the
throat? Is that how you do it in three stages? I go from the back of the tongue to the front
of the tongue. The way I understood it was if you taste the thing first, let's start with phase one,
it's the front of the tongue. What do you feel? Oh no, you start with nose, don't you?
It's a pale straw colour. That's all right. On the nose you've got a light grainy note
on the nose. Grainy? Yes, not quite biscuity, it's barley. Puro Molto. The carbonation on the tongue?
On the nose, it's a light grainy note, there's no real hops.
It's clean. In the mouth? Very smooth. You've got plenty of a nice grainy malt character up front,
moderately sweet, medium light body, medium firm carbonation. It's a medium bitterness and a
moderately dry finish. There's a touch of sweetness in there, you do get that extra malt. There's a
touch more body, it is pure malt so they don't have any rice or sugar or anything like that in
there. It's just a clean, crisp lager. It's actually really nice. Did Peroni do a good job?
Peroni did a great job. Could they be actually starting a mass-produced drink?
What do you think of that? I'm not sure if they could mass-produce something like this.
What is the percentage? I have no idea what the percentage is. That's a 5.2. 5.2 as well.
Well, it's a proper beer. It's just an easy to drink. If they made that in a 24-pack,
I'd buy it in a 58-pack. 58-pack, alright. Peroni, if you're watching, 58-pack.
$55 for 12. $55 for 12, that's not bad actually. For 12 pints, that's exactly right.
Very light honey note in the background, that's a sign of oxidation so it's probably got a touch
of age on it but it's actually quite nice. Who knows when they made it? It's quite enjoyable.
What's going on? It's a good mouthfeel. Creamy mouthfeel. It's a creamy mouthfeel.
It doesn't make sense. What's going on, Peroni? You're having a go, are you? You're having a real
go. They're taking the piss. Are you taking the piss because that's really good, thank you.
It looks like a wine bottle. Alright, I'm off to enjoy the rest of the evening.
