FYI of sports man, this is Lamont here.
We're back, back with another game of the day.
Game of the day highlight video.
Again, another much anticipated game.
Los Angeles Clippers versus the Dallas Mavericks.
It's been a tough three games, a heated three games.
These teams have been going back and forth
over the last week, man.
They've been putting up a lot of great battles
and today did not disappoint again.
Before we get into the highlights,
make sure you guys like, comment, subscribe,

for the Lakers Portland game coming up.
So if you want to participate in that,

whether it's our email, Instagram, or Twitter,
we'll see if we can set that up.
We would love to have one of the subscribers
participate in that game day breakdown as well.
But with regards to today, man, I'm talking about,
if you talk about an epic playoff battle,
especially out of the first round, man,
the Dallas Mavericks are putting up a fight.
Again, we're just going to go,
we're not even going to waste any time.
We're going to go straight to the highlights
because again, this was an unbelievable game.
And again, just as he just said,
this was a game where Luka Doncic
was coming off a very, very serious ankle sprain.
He did not look to be a hundred percent early on,
but as the game waned on, it looked like
because of the adrenaline,
he was able to get back to his normal self.
Paul George, man, very, very uneventful game for him.
I mean, I expected a lot more out of him.
We're looking at a, you know,
we're looking at a Clipper team
that is at essentially full strength.
They have everybody back.
You can't, there's no complaints.
You have Patrick Beverly back.
You have Montrezl Harrell back.
I mean, you have a few guys that are banged up,
but your core guys, your primary guys
that you rely on to win games,
everybody was there today.
And as you see, the Clippers are off
to a great start, hot shooting.
Paul George was looking as if he would have a,
was going to have a solid game.
It just did not turn out to be that way.
And he had great defense there
with Boban Marjanovic not able to get that entry pass.
You gotta look to throw that over to Boban.
Need to do better there.
But again, with regards to Luka Doncic
and going to the basket,
I mean, I don't know if the Clippers
have an answer for him in his drive.
Man, he's so physically strong.
His ability to shoot the ball from deep,
so you have to respect that.
But man, they don't have an answer for Luka Doncic
when he drives to the basket.
We have Lou Williams with another great game today.
He really filled up that scoring void
that Paul George was unable to give for the most part.
But the Clippers, you know,
it looked as if the Clippers
would be running away with this one.
You can see the score right there.
Clippers are up 19 in the second quarter.
And again, they got their foot on the gas right here.
It looks like they could potentially be cruising
to a easy, easy victory.
What I like about this Dallas team, man,
is they don't let up, man.
Whether they're down 20,
whether they're up 20, they play the same.
They play with the same consistency.
And this guy right here, Trey Burke,
man, I picked him in my fantasy lineup today.
He's playing great basketball.
Porzingis actually set out this game.
So if you don't see any of these highlights,
he has some knee soreness, had to sit out.
So guys like Luka, Trey Burke,
and these other guys, Tim Hardaway Jr.,
really had to step up today
and have great games to give Dallas Mavericks a chance.
And as you can see right here,
Luka with his back to the basket,
help defense, rotations were late.
If you let him get that deep,
he's gonna score the ball.
Excellent shooting the ball today,
coming off the pick and roll, man.
Dallas, I mean, a lot of people were saying
that Carlisle deserves to get fired.
I highly disagree.
He's one of the greatest defensive minds in this game.
Regardless of what team he has,
that team is always gonna be competitive
night in and night out.
Yeah, I think he's a great coach in the NBA.
And Trey Burke has found a way
to resurrect his career here in Dallas.
You know, for him,
it was just about the opportunity and the chance.
He played in New York.
He had some great games in New York,
even a 50-point game.
But for whatever reason,
the coach down there just didn't mesh with his game.
He was waived and he's found a home here in Dallas.
Looks like he's gonna be back next year
the way he's playing.
And then Paul George, man.
This is the second time I've seen
Paul George get ripped by guards.
We saw Seth Curry rip him.
Now we see Luka ripping him for the layup.
Paul George does not look like the same player, man.
I don't know where people are getting this concept
or idea that he's a superstar of this league,
one of the best players of this league.
He's a good player,
but he's definitely not an alpha for any particular team.
And we see that in his playoff performance
in the first round against the Mavericks.
Again, Luka, coming off that high pick and roll,
this man is almost essentially unstoppable.
When you're able to bring bigs out of the paint
and then you have to put them in situations
where they have to guard and play off that pick and roll,
we see the LA Clippers bigs struggle mightily
at being able to guard the pick and roll.
Morris, another sluggish game today.
Again, with Luka.
And look at the help.
There no help.
You got Kawhi Leonard standing.
He should have slid over in the help.
Again, this Clipper team is looking like
they've kind of lost their soul.
It looks like they've lost their drive, their heart,
things that made them a great team.
And what's probably happening with the Clippers
is the fact that they never really established
a lot of chemistry early on.
As we see, Dallas has now came all the way back
and now went up by seven with a 116-109 lead.
Kawhi Leonard, another solid game, man.
He essentially kept the Clippers in this
with great plays, great passes, timely buckets.
I love how Kawhi's playing right now.
Great save by Reggie Jackson.
And again, Kawhi Leonard, timely buckets,
really, really bailing the L.A. Clippers out
of these situations.
Again, another tough drive.
Cleave is one of the better defenders at Power Forward.
He's able to score over here with no problem.
And then this game, yeah, again,
this game went to overtime.
Really wish Leonard could have knocked down that clutch shot.
Tough, tough, tough play.
Really, that was your best look
in that particular situation
with a few seconds on the clock.
Clippers had a really strong,
at least Kawhi Leonard had a really strong
overtime performance.
Again, this man is extremely efficient.
And again, I wish I would have just saw
a little bit more heart,
especially coming out at the end of the game
from the L.A. Clippers.
Dorian Finney-Smith, again,
one of the most underappreciated players in the league,
does all the little things.
Not gonna, you know, he's not gonna mesmerize you
with a great stat line.
He's gonna come out and play hard every night
and defend some of your best players.
Tim Hardaway, Jr., missed that shot there,
but again, he still had a really solid game today.
But Trey Burke, well man,
Trey Burke was finding a way to step up
whenever his number is called.
Man, got nothing but praise for guys like Trey Burke
who've been able to grind
and find themselves in the league still.
Tough shot right there,
but Trey Burke comes up with a big rebound
and bucket to keep them alive.
Again, these last minute was probably
some of the most exciting basketball
that we've seen in the bubble.
We see Lou Williams with the and one.
He's gonna end up putting the Clippers up too.
Donchik, he's getting into the body of Biggs,
he's moving him, he's putting him in a position
where they can't block shots,
as we can see right here as the game ends.
And Luka, another tough drive.
Again, once he drives, spinning away from help,
if the Clippers aren't able to find a way
to start rotating on defense,
they're gonna find themselves bounced out of the playoffs
in the first round.
Big time three by Morris right here,
that puts him up one point.
Puts him up by one point right here.
Could have essentially assumed that the game was over with.
Last play right here, man.
Just watch, greatness.
Step back three.
Game.
Man, we gotta get to the highlights of that game.
As you saw right there,
Luka Donchik completely obliterated
the Los Angeles Clippers,
putting on one of the best playoff performances
that I personally have ever seen.
When you have a 40-point triple-double,
a 40-point triple-double
against the best defensive team in the NBA.
You're a seven seed going up against a two.
You're without your second best player, Christoph Brzingis.
You have everything.
I mean, nothing really in your favor.
Not only that, we're talking about Luka Donchik
is coming off a serious ankle sprain.
This man is playing through these injuries,
play without his second best player.
I mean, this was a game that the Clippers should have won.
Having two superstars,
when you got Paul George, Kawhi Leonard
surrounded by a cast of players.
You got two players on your bench
that are both in the running for sixth man of the year.
The Clippers could essentially be become
one of the biggest disappointments of the 2020 season
based on how they're playing.
And it is not about talent with the Clippers.
The Clippers are playing
as if they're trying to coast through the playoffs.
They're not taking this Dallas team seriously.
As we saw in a number of plays,
as we saw in a number of plays in those highlights,
when Luka would drive into the paint,
guys would be standing around watching.
Guys would be standing around watching,
not going in to be that extra help defender,
not stepping in to take charges.
Guys are standing watching,
hoping that this team misses shots.
And I think you underestimate your opponent.
You know, when you go into the game
thinking that you're gonna win this game
because Christoph Brzingas is not playing,
that's when you let your guard down.
And the Clippers right now, and Doc Rivers right now,
they're gonna have to go back to the drawing board
because now they're in a pressure pack situation.
They're going into a game five
where the Dallas Mavericks will have Christoph Brzingas back
and they're gonna have all the confidence in the world.
You're allowing this team to see
that you really can't play deep.
You have a lot of good defenders,
but you guys don't know how to play team defense.
And that's a big,
there's a really big difference in that.
You have a lot of good defenders, Clippers,
but you don't know how to play team defense.
Kawhi Leonard, Paul George,
two great individual defenders.
Patrick Beverly, great individual defender.
The same thing with Harrell, even with Morris.
A lot of great individual players.
When are you guys gonna start putting it together
on the defensive end?
And the breakdowns that they're having
show me that they're not communicating on D.
Nobody's talking on D.
Doc Rivers is not getting these guys to engage on D.
And it looks like, as we saw in the first half,
their defense is based on how well
they're playing on offense.
If they're playing great offense,
they're gonna play great defense.
And as we saw when they struggled offensively,
Paul George struggled, Marcus Morris struggled.
When these guys struggle offensively,
they're not engaged defensively
and it actually costs them the game.
We're gonna go ahead and break down these stats.
We're gonna run down the Clippers stats first, man.
Kawhi Leonard, great game, just not great enough.
32 points, nine rebounds, four assists.
Solid game, solid game from him.
It's looking like he's gonna have to carry more
to score low with Paul George kind of disappearing,
pulling that disappearing act.
Again, this disappearing act by Paul George,
it does not surprise me.
But again, to have a game going to overtime
where Paul George only has nine points,
eight rebounds and three assists,
that means you're essentially being a shadow out there.
You should not be getting outscored by bench players
like Lou Williams who had to step in and put up 36
just to keep the Clippers in the game.
So again, for all those people out there
claiming that Paul George is some superstar player,
well, when you look at these numbers right here,
this is why that man Paul George
has so many first round playoff losses.
This is why, and it looks like he's gonna carry
on that streak of first round playoff losses.
It looks like he's trying to find a way
to carry that streak of first round playoff losses
because if you look at his numbers,
for all of those people that are trying
to put back Paul George and say he's a superstar,
this isn't just one bad game.
This isn't two bad games.
This is three bad playoff games in a row
where there's no home court advantage
and you're playing in a neutral gym
against an inferior opponent, a far inferior opponent.
It's not like Paul George is having to go,
you know, with Dorian Finney-Smith.
It's not like he's defensively,
individually he's not going up
against individually great players.
Carlisle and people, a lot of people don't forget,
this man coached Paul George.
He understands what his tendencies are
and he's finding a way to exploit Paul George
and essentially make him non-effective
in this particular series.
He's done it three games in a row.
So for all those people out there
to say that this coach needs to get fired,
look at how he's coaching his team.
Again, look at how he's coaching his team.
There's a lot of people out there
to act like they really know X's and O's
and understand this game.
You guys don't.
It's the proof is in the punting.
The man, consecutive games in a row,
has held the so-called superstar, Paul George,
in single digit scoring.
So again, another extremely bad outing for Paul George.
Reggie Jackson, 14 points off the bench.
Landry Shaman, eight points off the bench.
Jermichael Green, eight points off the bench.
Again, this Clipper team, man,
they keep allowing these high-scoring games.
Again, we're talking about the so-called
best defensive team in the league, the Clippers.
This is the team that's supposed to take down LeBron.
This is the team that you guys are really banking on
to beat the Los Angeles Lakers.
It's not looking too good right there.
We're going to go to the Mavericks stats.
Mavericks stats, Tim Hardaway Jr., man.
This man, again, early on in the season,
I had a lot of doubts about this man
and the success that he could have with the Dallas Mavericks.
But man, since the bubbles came back,
he's been putting up very, very good numbers,
21 and five today, great game.
Dorian Finney-Smith, 8.7 rebounds.
His stat line does not show how valuable he is.
This man's playing great defense on Paul George
and some of the other players.
Maxie Kleber, again, Maxie Kleber and Dorian Finney-Smith,
the two most underrated players on this team,
they're the ones causing the most problems
for the LA Clippers.
Those two forwards, Kleber, who's listed as a center,
he's actually a power forward.
He could defend all positions.
Same with Dorian Finney-Smith.
These guys have been posing problems for the Clippers
all over the court.
And then Luka Doncic, man.
43 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists.
I want to say that again, you guys,
Luka Doncic with 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists.
I was having a conversation on Ticket TV the other day.
There were people saying that this Clipper team
can shut Luka Doncic down.
I want you guys to explain to me
how he has shut Luka Doncic down.
How has Kawhi shut anybody down?
The only thing that I've seen in this series,
I've seen Luka Doncic go right at Kawhi Leonard,
right into his chest time and time again.
And because there was no help defense,
Kawhi Leonard was just as helpless as any other defender.
I don't want to hear this talk.
I don't want to hear this talk about Kawhi Leonard
being the best player in the league.
I don't want to hear this talk about LeBron James
being the best player in the league.
I don't want to hear this talk about Damian Lillard
being the best player in the league.
Right now, today, the best player in the NBA
is Luka Doncic.
He proved it today.
Not just with the stat line,
it's just how he controlled the game.
Again, this team had every reason to give up.
Every reason to give up in the second quarter.
Down 20, down 20 in the second quarter,
they could have just folded.
Without their second best player,
without Kristoff Porzingis,
again, this team is built different.
This is why Carlisle's one of the better coaches
in the league.
Because when you can calm your team down,
and when you can get them to stick to the game plan
and not panic, even when you're down 20,
that just tells you right there,
you got a good core that you want to keep together.
43 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists.
I'm saying it right now.
Today, the best player in the NBA is Luka Doncic.
And he's not just done it today,
he's been doing it all year.
But because we don't like his style of play,
because we favor that, you know,
he's not doing it the traditional way.
We tend to favor guys like Kawhi Leonard,
maybe even a LeBron James,
or other players in this league, even a Kevin Durant.
You know, Kevin Durant's not playing right now.
LeBron James is aging, he's not the same LeBron James.
And Kawhi Leonard, for as good as he is,
he has no passion.
He does not look as if he has the passion
or love for the game that guys like Luka.
We see the love for the game that Luka has
when he scores buckets.
I love how he's mixing it up,
not backing down from these Clipper players.
These Clipper players try to impose their will against him.
Porzingis and Luka Doncic are stepping back up.
So again, was it a bad thing
that Porzingis got ejected that first game?
Yes, it was a bad thing.
But by him stepping up, jumping right into the mix,
when these guys are trying to bully Luka Doncic,
what that shows me right there is this team
is definitely not scared of the Clippers,
and it shows right now.
They won a game without their second best player,
Seth Curry, Trey Burke, man.
Give this man big kudos, man.
25 points, five rebounds, one assist.
This man came in the starting lineup today.
And again, you guys need to understand,
you know how hard it is to go from not knowing,
game to game, how many minutes you're actually gonna play?
You know, when this team is actually healthy,
and he doesn't need to step in,
he's probably only playing 15, maybe 20 minutes a night.
All right, we don't know how many shots
he's gonna be able to get up.
This man jumped into a starting row tonight,
played 37 minutes, instantly dropped 25 points,
five rebounds, man.
These are the type of players, again,
when you talk about the Lakers and their inability
to find guys who can score and step in,
not necessarily care about their minutes,
but just do their job with whatever minutes they have,
the Lakers are the team.
They miss out on those players time and time again.
They missed out on the Tyler Johnson.
They missed out on the Trey Burke.
They missed out on the Carmelo Anthony.
Again, this is why the Lakers will struggle
to win championships,
because teams time and time again
pass up on players like Trey Burke.
We saw what Trey Burke could do in New York.
A lot of people overlooked it
because he was doing it in New York.
He was putting up big numbers and a lot of losses,
so it was not necessarily respected.
We saw he did the same thing in Washington, all right?
You guys are gonna have to start opening up your eyes.
We gotta stop looking at the highlights.
We gotta stop looking at the players who we think are good.
We gotta start giving credit to some of these other guys
who help players like Luka Doncic excel and be great.
Seth Curry off the bench, 31 minutes, 15 points.
One rerun, one accept, very good game.
Even Beaubon comes in.
Beaubon, probably the most efficient player
in the NBA right now.
16 minutes, 10 points, seven rebounds.
I mean, again, players like Beaubon as well.
I mean, the man comes in, regardless of what minutes
he plays, he's gonna instantly come in
and impact the game, whether it's scoring and rebounding.
And as you say, 16 minutes, in 16 minutes,
that means you're getting a point or a rebound every minute.
A point or a rebound every minute.
In NBA, these things matter.
Your production matters.
And Dallas has great production all over the court.
You can tell that this team likes playing together.
They play for each other.
They're not selfish.
They cheer each other on.
And the Clippers look like they're in disarray right now.
And they got a lot of questions.
They got a lot of problems.
They got a lot of questions and problems
they need to solve over the next day.
Because in game five, they're gonna have to now deal
with Christophe Porzingis,
along with extremely confident Luka Doncic.
Again, I'm saying it right now today, you guys.
And I need somebody to prove me wrong.
If you don't agree with this,
somebody please prove me wrong.
The best player in the NBA today is not Kawhi Leonard,
by a long shot.
Even if we take Luka Doncic out of the situation,
Kawhi Leonard's not the best player in the NBA.
You know, we still gotta look at guys.
I would take an injured Kevin Durant
over Kawhi Leonard right now.
Guys, I'm taking a healthy AD over Kawhi Leonard right now.
These, like I say, and when we look at that Raptors team,
I know Kawhi Leonard won a championship last year.
But again, Toronto's just as strong without him.
He made a great team elite.
I mean, but that's not very hard to do
when you just gotta come in and do that.
And when you play an injured Golden State team
in the finals, why do we not put an asterisk
alongside that championship as well?
Again, these are questions you have to bring up.
But again, as it stands right now,
I need somebody to prove me wrong.
The best player in the NBA right now, as it stands today,
is not Damian Lillard.
Damian Lillard does some great things,
but he just can't sustain them.
We've seen Luka Doncic sustain this greatness.
We've seen, it's come to the point now
where when Luka Doncic scores 25 and 10,
we're saying that he has a bad game.
Luka Doncic scores 25 and 10,
we're saying that's a bad game.
But any other player, that's a great game.
That tells you right there how great he is.
FYI, Fsportsman, FYI, Fsportsman,
just another great, another great reaction video, man.
I really want you guys,
I really want you guys to let me know.
Let me know in the comments,
what did you think about this game?
What do you think to be the outcome of this series?
Do you think the Clippers can bounce back
and still win this series?
And if you think they can bounce back and win this series,
what changes do you think they need to make
to be competitive?
Because the only thing I'm seeing right now
is I'm seeing a team that lacks chemistry,
not just offensively,
but they lack chemistry primarily defensively.
They're not playing team defense at all.
All you have to do is watch the highlights.
And again, if you understand the game of basketball,
you understand that playing health defense
is a major part of basketball.
There's nothing, there's no such thing
as individual defense.
There's no stat that accounts for individual defense
because individual great defense
is not gonna stop a team from scoring 130 points on you.
And we see that here.
Having great defenders individually
is not going to save you in the NBA.
You have to have team defense
to be a great defensive team in the NBA.
This is what made the Bulls great.
That's what made the Warriors great.
That's what made those great Spurs team great.
Those coaches preached time and time again
about team defense, all right?
And you look at those teams across the board individually,
not a lot of great defenders as teams.
They were great defensively.
FYI sports, another great episode.
Game of the day breakdown.
We have the Los Angeles Clippers.
We have the Dallas Mavericks winning this one at the buzzer
in overtime, 135 to 133.
We'll be back tomorrow.
We'll be doing another game of the day breakdown
for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trailblazers.
It's gonna be another great game.
Again, if you are looking to do that breakdown with me,
you wanna get that recorded live,
make sure you hit me up in the comments.
Make sure you hit us up on Instagram or Twitter.
Let me know if you wanna participate in that show.
And when we record that show,
we'll be hitting you up to join us on that show
so we can hear from one of our subscribers' perspective
on how they feel about the outcome of that game
when it gets here.
FYI sports, another great game, and we're out.
