ATHLETIC CLUB 4 - 0 RCD MALLORCA | RESUMEN LALIGA EA SPORTS | J23 | 2023-2024

You get the sense, Guillem, that every game is an occasion here at Saint-Mémis. Yeah, and you know what I was thinking? This, 10, 15 years ago, wasn't happening. You will hear the anthem. You're not wanting to get overrun, as the first set piece will be played by Nico Williams into the box. It's helped on, and there's the early goal. Not even three minutes on the clock. And it's Yuri Berchiche. The left back popping up with a header. Behind the great Irivar as the shot goes in. And oh my word, it is Yuri Berchiche again. What a night this man is having. 16 minutes on the clock. It's Athletic Club 2. On the ball, doing brilliantly to carry on the chance. That's Antonio Sanchez, the overlapping Giovani. Back to Antonio Sanchez. De Marcos has got options in the box. He eventually plays in the crosses. A good ball in. And a fabulous save at the front post. From Predrat Rajkovic, as Gorka Gudu... Through the middle, yeah. However, chance here for Nico Williams, who goes down. Just lost his footing, but actually the referee has pointed to the spot for a penalty. It feels to him that it is a penalty. Has changed his mind after being given regular game time by Valverde. Now it's Iñaki Williams who drags the shot. Just wide at the front post. Just that little pattern of play looks brilliant from Athletic Club as Nico Williams drags the shot just wide at the front. And again, one in midfield. Chance to run now for Iñaki Williams. He's in behind and it's a fine save. It drops, though, to Nico Williams. Now across. Today was a more attractive run of football. Corner comes in now for Mallorca. That was a fine effort on target. Nacho Vidal coming close to a goal. I think so, I think so. Yes, Nico Williams lays it off to Iñaki Williams and then across. And there is Gorka Gudu Theta, deadly at the back post. All he had to do was cushion the ball in. But he's made it 3-0. However, the referee has brought things back. Incredibly, the goal stands. Well, from the angles that we got, it looked offside. The referee. In September, this is actually for Mallorca as Muñain rolls it in. Calm as you like. Mallorca bullwatching, really. But that is just a moment of call. It's his whistle for the end of the game. Both managers, Ernesto Valverde and Javier Aguirre greeting each other at the end of the matchup tonight. Iker Muñain, as happy as any player on the pitch, as he made it 4-0 late on here at San Mami.
