Wild Camping in the Swiss Alps

Last week, after driving for a good while, I crossed the border to a new country. Switzerland! Here we go! There's the flag. And since Jules decided to stay for a little longer, we came up with a cool plan. The idea was to hike to the most famous mountain in Switzerland and spend a night there. So we just made it to probably one of the most touristy spots in Switzerland. I hope I don't regret this, but there's a place here that I really want to see. So I'm just trying to find a place to park the van for the night and then we're going on a short hike. Okay, I think we found a parking spot. I hope it's legal. We just made it to Zermatt and now we need to take a gondola to go up the mountain. This is so touristy. We are here now and we want to walk all the way to here and hopefully camp around this area. The trail is going all the way up there. It's so steep. It's definitely a nice view. Look at the Matterhorn there. So beautiful, right? Are you tired? Yeah, I'm tired. This is so much steeper than I was expecting. Yeah. We definitely underestimated this hike. I think we're like half an hour away from the place where we can spend the night, but the sun is almost gone. I'm so tired. Look at that view. Whoa. Yeah, it was. Okay, we're all set. It's really dark. You can barely see the mountain there, but there's a few more people camping, which is really nice. And yeah, I'm really tired. So I'll see you in the morning. Good night. Do you like it? So beautiful. It's so bright. I cannot believe that I actually camped next to probably the most famous mountain in the world. Look at that. Whoa. This is the biggest glacier I've ever seen in my life. Oh, look, there's more people camping there. It's a pretty nice spot as well. Look at those sun rays shining through the mountain. We're just having breakfast. It's just banana with bread. Very simple. Wow. Oh, I just bit myself. Your tongue or your lip? My lip. Ow. Nice. Well, obviously, we weren't the only ones wanting to see this in person. So as soon as the crowds came, we just packed everything and drove to somewhere quieter. Want some peach? Do some ASMR eating.
