unboxing my new book at 2am

hey everyone it is 2: a.m. here in Thailand and I figured it's the perfect time to open the box what's in the box you ask and I reply this is the very first copy of the novel I've been working on since the summer of 2021 it's been 2 weeks since launching and I still haven't held my own book I've seen other people holding it on social media thank you to everyone who's posted or dm'd me but I have yet to see the book in person myself the reason why is because there were some hiccups during the formatting process that threatened to delay publication by the time I finally shipped myself a test copy I feared it wouldn't arrive in Thailand fast enough which evidently turned out to be true so as a backup measure I shipped a second test copy to Katie Flanigan in the US who's been with me in managing Lost Island press since the start she re received her copy way earlier than I did and sent me some photos which was a lifesaver thank you Katie I was able to publish on time everything turned out okay and guess what finally decided to arrive the first and original test copy in the words of calvarium it's about damn time so without further Ado let's open the box and stick around until the end of this video for some other news all right give me a second okay oh my God here it is and there it is you know I was really scared I'm like tearing up right now I was really scared to fil film an unboxing video cuz I was like there's no way I'm going to be super excited to see it but I'm super excited to see it I'm scared I've got the uh the guardian divisions here and check out the title page oh it's so cool to see it in person I can't even explain it I honestly want to just sit here and reread the whole book for the like 1 millionth time oh and I love the little scene dividers it's so crazy like every single section I flip to I can remember moments of time when I was editing that section I want to flip to the end sorry just let me take this in let me process this let me breathe oh God I can't where is that I bet I could find that chapter 19 I believe no don't give us a date let me sit with this let me process this let me breathe see I can quote this thing they one of the under ground's tactics to distract us I mean seriously what will finding the bands do it's not like they'll talk at most we can lock them up maybe execute them but at that point it's just Pride a way to say in your face targets we traced you but how much closer does it bring us to finding the underground well not close at all oh okay I was close oh I think I can do this one I read this one aloud a lot you have no idea how much I regret what happened I wish I helped you carry him I wish I didn't pluck your feather I was selfish and immature and you were right I didn't need to stay in the program like you did actually staying in the program was the last thing I needed and I finally see that now so if I could go back and make everything right I would do so in a heartbeat but I can't it happened and I know you hate me for it and maybe there's no way you could ever trust my word again but I want you to hear me say that I'm sorry and I miss you I think I got that word for word oh oh man I missed even if it meant getting filtered that is crazy I didn't realize I could do this oh the ending seeing the ending I remember when I was working on you know that big reveal at the end I wanted there to be some kind of of prop involved and that's when I came up with the idea of incorporating can of beans maybe it's not hilarious to anyone else but it was hilarious to me just because of the fact that every like really intense critical point involves a can of beans in a very dramatic way I can't wait to start reading it why am I reading it thank you to everyone I mentioned in the acknowledgements everyone who's been watching my channel and everyone who ordered copies I know this novel has hardly been out but I'm already so excited to share the second book in in the belladon trilogy with you it's called underground royalty and it explores other characters outside of yashi's perspective which has been a challenging yet fun change I'm also working on a standalone companion noela that takes place about 30 years before the events of NRE Academy it's a comedic tragedy called Ma and it's told from Dr bl's perspective I'll be revealing the C very soon if you haven't purchased a copy of night Street Academy or you've already read it and need something new to read next I'm excited to share that lost Allen press is hosting a holiday sale all ebooks in the catalog are 60 to 75% off you can grab nitri Academy for just $1.99 or browse for something new plus there's a special freebie for subscribers by signing up for the Lost Island press newsletter you'll receive an ebook of my second novel cap in your welcome email you know where the links are I'll see you in the next video
