This Video was supposed to go up before my last video...But 5000 subs was approaching so fast i had to reverse the videos hahaha This is one of those movies that gets started and not finished. Our day is whistler was beautiful but the filming was cut short. Dam cell phone :(
We are up in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.
Home of one of the biggest and most world-renowned ski resorts and snowboard resorts, also home
of one of the best mountain bike parks on the planet.
If you guys are mountain bikers, you guys have heard about this place.
I don't know about the ski and snowboard stuff too much.
It's not my thing.
I've really never really been into it.
But mountain biking, let me tell you man, I have been up that chairlift so many times
and shredded down this mountain.
The mountain bike trails up here are freaking bananas.
And if you want to see some crazy mountain bike madness, go on to YouTube, while you
are on it right now, and search Whistler Mountain Bike Park and just watch the people shred
these trails.
So much damn fun.
Disco was not feeling walking around in this cold weather.
It's minus 10 degrees Celsius and I'm sure it's probably like minus 15 or so with the
wind chill.
Look how red I am.
My ears are like so cold.
So we decided to stop walking around Whistler Village.
And the village back there is kind of like just what you've seen.
It's pretty much just miniature shops and it's like touristy stuff and a place to buy
your sporting gear.
It's beautiful and it's cool and it's a great place to grab a drink in the summertime.
But in this weather, you know what, I could leave the dog in the van and go walk around
and get some more footage.
But I would rather spend time with my homie because he's what matters.
And so yeah, we're walking in like knee deep snow just about and there's some graffiti
over here.
I want to go check it out.
Here's a new piece.
I haven't seen this one yet.
Behind me is actually a huge skateboard park.
It's massive.
It's pretty sweet.
But this graffiti looks just breathtaking.
Wow.
I love that graffiti stuff, especially right there in the snow.
It just popped.
It was so beautiful.
Let's go back to the nice warm van and get you guys some more footage of this beautiful
place.
Now that first thing in the morning is freaking incredible.
Making this drive at that peak hour of the morning just when the sun is coming up.
Like if you're into like photography or into like video, you know you got this golden hour
or so in the morning and a golden hour or so at night where the sun's just either coming
up or going down and you get all the shadows and this is going to be a beautiful drive
this morning.
So on that note, what's up everybody?
Here's what happened yesterday when we drove up to Whistler, BC.
I'm going to blame it on the dog because he's too cute, right?
So yeah, I'll blame him.
Like when farts happen and shit, I blame the dog.
It's just easier.
So we're going to blame this one on the dog too.
He wasn't feeling walking.
It was super damn cold, like minus 10 degrees up there yesterday.
So he wasn't feeling walking.
He was also tired from the big hike in the snow in Squamish the other day.
So we ended up going up, pulling up in front of a business.
I got a couple of videos edited, had a great conversation with a gentleman from the UK
who wants me to do a video for his hotel.
So this is like showing me signs that, you know, things are moving forward.
Like I very well possibly could have a sustainable living in my van while traveling and this
is just opportunities are opening and just is awesome being here with every one of you
guys and making videos every day.
It means a ton and I'm super excited with what this year has in store for us.
It's going to be so, so rad.
Anyway, I drove around after that trying to find a place to sleep because van life in
Whistler, well, it's a tourist place.
So there's like major hotels, no parking, all underground stuff.
And then everything up there has got like no parking signs that say no, no, no, no overnighters,
no campers.
You guys aren't welcome here.
So normally I would have just pulled up like a service road up the mountain somewhere and
just, you know, kind of stayed up on the mountain or pulled over on the side of a road somewhere.
But you know, in the winter, because all the snow was piled up on the side of the road,
you kind of can't park anywhere.
So we ended up staying in front of a restaurant and stuff we were at last night.
And even though it said no, no, no, we stayed there anyway.
So staying there was, it wasn't bad.
I didn't get bothered.
I was out of there by like five o'clock in the morning.
We drove back to Squamish, grabbed myself a shower, grabbed a coffee.
And the reason why we're heading back today is because yesterday I got an email from my
mailbox.
That means my van life shirts could possibly be here.
So for me to stay up there another night or two, knowing that my van life shirts that
I ordered myself are here, well, I wouldn't have slept at all.
I would have been like, I want to go see, I want to go see, I want to go see, I want
to go.
I'm not kidding you.
I would have been like a little kid and like waiting for Christmas because for me, that's
my Christmas.
So I'm pretty pumped about it.
We're driving back.
So the shirts better be there.
There's a bit of a delay because I ordered mine pretty much like some of you guys just
before Christmas.
But because they come from the US to here, the postal stuff was super slow and they warned
me when I bought it that there was going to be a delay.
So anyway, we're heading back to Vancouver right now.
It's like a two hour drive and leaving this winter wonderland behind.
It's been beautiful.
It's been awesome.
It's been cold, but it's going to be nice to go back to what Vancouver winter is, which
means sunshine, no snow on the ground and probably people out in the ocean paddle boarding
and playing tennis in the parks.
All right, let's go back to the city.
We just got back home here to Vancouver and we've had this fog a lot lately.
It's just like completely buried us on every day when there's no clouds.
We just get just jammed with the fog.
I mean, when you're in the park and stuff here, it's beautiful.
Look at that.
Just cinematic.
I picked up stuff from the mailbox.
It was a Christmas card from one of my viewers.
And thank you.
So awesome.
And remember, like I told you back in Vancouver, people are probably playing tennis in the
park.
There's lots of people playing tennis in the park.
Winter in Vancouver is awesome.
Kids are out here playing and just like regular, like thin shirts, no big puffy jackets.
It's beautiful.
Let's go back to the van, see the pup.
And I think we're going to say goodbye for the day.
Thanks for hanging out with us in this day of two days or whatever this video has turned
out to be.
Thanks for hanging out with us.
And we'll see you guys again tomorrow.
We're just going to make some food.
I got to get some food for this guy because he clearly looks starving.
Are you hungry, buddy?
Are you hungry?
All right, everybody.
Until the next one.
Stay weird.
