This is an easy circular winter hike on groomed snow (at least while the ski resort is open mid Dec to early March), 7.2 km with 230m elevation up & down.
We did this hike on 18 March 2023. There was a big snow storm about a week before.

Hi, welcome back to Swiss family fun
I'm Tanya and today I'm doing a winter hike at a bakery which is south of Zurich and
I thought today I'd show you a little bit of the trail and also talk about hiking in March in
Switzerland because I'm getting this question a lot lately. So come along with us on the trail today
I will put a link in the description below to our website that has all the details for this hike and
The list of hikes for March in Switzerland and now let's get on the trail
So just to be familiar with the calendar of what's happening in Switzerland
It is ski season from about mid-December to
Late March mid-April it depends on the elevation of the resort and where you are
Sometimes a little earlier sometimes a little later
But generally that ski season so during that time you can do winter hikes on groomed trails
Where they take machines that flatten the snow so you can go with just regular hiking shoes instead of snowshoes
If you come in March, I think that would be your top choice to get the mountain views and I mean
It's pretty warm like today. I mean it depends on the weather, of course, but it is shorts weather today
So I have my waterproof hiking shoes on of course because it's a slushy mess. That's super warm
This is very March
So we've had a really bad snow here here in Switzerland and I mean this I think this ski resort here usually closes middle of March
Anyway, but a lot of the resorts had to close early and not even open because of so little snow this year
I hope that's not the case every year
So this is also what you can get a March
Slushy and then in the shade it's ice
So sometimes you really need your spikes to get into this. I've brought an apple strudel pastry from Bachmann. So delicious
Okay, this is what you have to prepare for
March hiking
Even the snow over here. It's just a little slushy
If you're not going to be hiking up in the snow in the mountains
You could hike at lower elevations and then I would recommend going by lakes and rivers where you have mountain views
Because that's going to be your the prettiest because a lot of the trees haven't filled in yet
So they're a little bare and not as pretty and that's really not gonna happen till about the end of April
Summer trail sign is taking a little break. I'm almost back to the hut where I have my coffee and now I'm gonna have some lunch
Hopefully. All right, all done with the hike. It was so beautiful today
I hope you come do this one and I hope you come hiking in March in Switzerland
Now that you know what you need to do here. All right. We'll see you next time for more hiking in Switzerland
