Review of Nyetimber Team GB Classic Cuvee, sparkling wine for Paris Olympics

Well 2024, summer of sport continues. The Olympics begin in just a couple of days time after we film this video and a lot of people will be supporting Team GB I'm sure and one way to do it if you're a wine lover is with a bottle of this, the Nytimber Team GB Classic Cuvée. Now as far as I know it's the regular classic cuvée from Nytimber which is very good based on champagne grapes and giving long aging in Nytimber cellars before release but it has this special livery, this very attractive, very colourful bottle celebrating Team GB. It's available quite widely for around about £30. You can buy it in the Team GB online shop but also merchants like Tanner's and Berry Brothers, lots of people have this wine around about the £30 mark. So what do you get? Well it is the classic Nytimber character which means lots of toast and lots of yeast development, real kind of classy stuff for this in the champagne mould but giving a little bit of extra kind of fruitiness too. I think somehow in this particular release of the wine on the palate, real juiciness. I mean there's something that's touching into kind of very ripe melon and even a little bit of peach in there as well as that flowing kind of orchard apple character and zestiness to the acidity too. It's a wine, a sparkling wine from England that combines approachability because of that lovely fruit character and a little bit of kind of structure and weight too from the Lys aging. So if you want to celebrate Team GB's success hopefully at the Paris Olympics this year, a bottle of this £30 from Tanner's, from Wine GB website, from lots of places.
