Our second stop is the island Mykonos where we visit Mykonos Town, Little Venice as well as the epic windmills that "the island of the winds" is known for. Greece. I can't believe we're finally here.
Just hearing that name makes me instantly think of those white cities along the cliffs of Santorini.
The iconic windmills on the island of Mykonos and the ancient necropolis of Athens.
Its history here is so rich and old that many of our modern concepts, think democracy and many moral and ethical
philosophical ideas have originated here. The very word philosophy is Greek.
Translates to the love of wisdom.
This country has been on our bucket list for far too long and just like all good things, it starts with a boat ride.
Cruising at a casual 50 knots.
First stop, Santorini. This island reminds me of why I love to travel.
It's simply so stunningly beautiful, but also so bizarre having these towns, the biggest ones being Fira and Ea,
clinging to the cliffs of a caldera of an underwater volcano.
Hang on, what?
Now we're talking. This right here is why traveling is so important.
It challenges your very idea of building codes, personal safety and long-term investment strategies.
That's obviously not what I was going to say about the profoundness of traveling, but more about that later.
And this is us, making a rather casual entrance. Me, George behind the camera, Liv, Tara and little Bodhi.
If you haven't picked up on this, we love traveling as a family and with the family. In this case with the kids' grandparents.
Time for fliegen, as Liv would say. That's German for flying.
We're going to stand in line. We are?
Hey, hang on, what are we doing here? Note to self, Ea is impossibly crowded when the cruise ships are in port.
It's freaking hectic, this place.
The most wonderfully refreshing gelato I've had all day.
While in Greece, make sure to eat all the gelato you can find.
Talk to the locals. They are truly some of the warmest, most welcoming people we've encountered.
And make sure to show off your oppa skills.
Next stop, Mykonos, the island of the winds.
There's nothing quite like exploring Mykonos town.
What you're looking at is not some resort or hotel. It's just the downtown residential area one street over from the shopping street.
I'm trying to get a different picture of little Venice than every other person has. Oh, hi!
Hang on, where are we? Athens!
It's like a changing of the guards, Athens style.
Are we lost already? What is that around his head?
What is it?
Little side note, getting lost is kind of our MO.
That's how you find the best little churches, the weirdest little nooks, the craziest artwork, you know, just
get lost out there.
Liv, where's everyone?
Let's have a look. What's this place?
We're making these films for the same reasons that we love to travel.
Which is to feel something, to make others feel something, to inspire people to get out there and connect with the world.
We believe that we are better together and the forces playing on people's fears,
dividing us, won't stand a chance against the open mind, the explorer, the traveler.
Tara and I knew that giving our kids the experiences of different people, cultures, languages,
will shape them in fundamental ways that nurture a curious, fearless and open mind.
And that's a nap.
Wow, next level dad joke here.
Anyways, if you do not like traveling to cool and exotic places, make sure not to subscribe.
And definitely do not hit the notify button to be informed about our next adventure in some impossibly beautiful place
somewhere on this bright blue dot.
Yes?
This side?
