Welcome to Camuli, a cute little town on the coast of Northern Italy. We stumbled upon this place
when we were looking for accommodations in Portofino, but I'm actually so glad we found
an Airbnb in Camuli and stayed here instead. Out of all the places that we visited on our
Euro Summer trip, I think Camuli was the most surprising for me, and I was definitely so
impressed by it. Even just walking out of the train station, you see all of the buildings and
you see the water, and it's just the most beautiful town. So yes, here are a few of my favorite moments
from Camuli. We made it to Camuli! We're in the cutest little town. It's a little beach town,
they have boats, and it's so colorful and kind of quiet. I'll show you. Is it raining?
It is. It's raining.
Guys, I can barely hold it in my hands. It's so large. It's so big.
It's really good. That's good. So pretty here.
They've arrived. We had to stop to laugh. The guy came out with a ticket.
I looked at this one girl and I was like, please, please. I was like, you bitch.
Oh, that British couple was like the train's canceled, and I was like, okay.
Because they came on the intercom and they were like, the train is canceled. We're like,
are you kidding me? So then Jasmine starts looking up bolts. But then she was like, no,
like, let's just wait it out five minutes because we were going to leave. Yeah. And then it came,
and we're like, okay. We got on, no problem. Like, because all the people that were trying to go to
Monaco for some reason had to go at 10. Why? They couldn't wait until 11 or something. A little later,
I was like, it's free. Yeah, so we walked in, it was perfect, and we got literally luggage space
and seats. As soon as we pulled into the Camellia station, it was 1227, and the train was at 1228.
Yeah, we saw it. And I was like, you're kidding me. And these, like, group of American boys next
to us were like, guys, we gotta go. We'll run across the tracks. And we were like, we're gonna
follow them. We were like, no. So we started following them, and we were like, where are
they going? And then they heard us talking about it, and this guy was like- The dad of the group.
Yeah, and he was like, oh, are you, like, going onto this train? We were like, yeah,
we were supposed to, but now it's gone. At this point, me and Jasmine knew that we were gonna
miss our second train, so we were, like, already planning getting a drink. Because we were on the
train 50 minutes before, we were like, okay, so we're gonna get drinks. We're gonna get drinks.
If we have to get on that one, what was it, 57? Yeah, we just assumed we were gonna get on that
train. So then we, like, went, and we went to this place called Bar Canada. On the map, I was like,
Bar Canada? Awesome. We're sitting, and the guy comes up, he looks at our luggage. He goes to say,
yeah, and then he looks at our luggage, and he immediately goes, hi. And we're all just, like,
together. Yes, hi. And I was like, two Aperol Spritz, please. At 12.30 in the afternoon,
and he was like, okay, and then it came out with chips and food, and then we got another Spritz.
She literally went, one more? He was like, what? We had 10 minutes left until our timer was up,
and we were like, yep. Chug. One more. Let's do it. So then we chugged,
because we were like, **** this shit. And so then, we made it back to our train. So much time to
stay. So much time. Finally got on that one. That one was good. She passed out. We also kind of did
pass out for a little bit here and there. Then we got out. So much time to get to our other train,
thank goodness. And then at the last minute, the, like, platform changed, and we were like, ****.
We had to go back around. Back around, got onto that train, and then we've, like, successfully
been fine. All of the three trains we've taken at this point. That we didn't have tickets for.
That we didn't have tickets for. Last two stops. We're at Sori. He goes,
ticket? Like, he's, like, right behind. Jasmine goes, he's right behind. She just goes.
And she was like, we, he's checking tickets. I'm like, you're ******* kidding me. So we're,
like, waiting it out. We're, like, trying to buy tickets. It's not loading. We're also like,
why are we trying to buy tickets? We were not subtle. We literally got up, took our bags,
and walked all the way to the very back. We were, like, hiding from this man. Turned around the
corner. Got to the next station. We're like, please shut the doors. Like, please, please,
please. The doors were open for so long. And then we, like, waited, and then he finally went away
as soon as we got to Kimoli. Yeah. And now we're here. Yeah. I heard your, like, bags coming up,
and I was like, I hear them. As you're walking, I was like, this sounds so obnoxious.
Everyone kept saying, I hate you guys. All the old ladies were like. And I was like,
I'm sorry. This is what I was telling her. I'm like, it's like,
if someone went, like, towards her, come arousal, Georgia. I'd be like, why are you here?
Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I might have to just cry.
That's cute.
Out of our entire trip, I think we definitely had our best food in Kimoli. As they're a coastal town,
obviously, their seafood pasta was amazing. And they're also known for their pesto and focaccia,
I believe. And we just had some of the best focaccia and pasta. Time to taste.
So there's a bunch of small towns in this area. Kimoli is one of them. I think Ravello is another.
San Frutuoso. Portofino is also one of them. And there's a ferry that will take you in between
some of them. So we took the ferry from Kimoli to San Frutuoso, and that's an even smaller town
than Kimoli. So we were only planning on spending, like, a few hours there. But I have to say,
the sea is so pretty there. You can see it from the footage, but the water was beautiful. And
also just being able to take the ferry was a fun experience as well. And it was also just
such a nice day. We're on a boat. Are you kidding?
No.
Underwater. I got scared.
Wait, is there one that's low-hanging?
Wow, that's so cool.
Oh, thank you.
I don't know if you've noticed, but the buildings, like the architecture, I guess,
a lot of the details and the design were, like, painted on or, like, printed on. I'm not exactly
sure what it was. I thought it looked beautiful. I just thought it was interesting because I feel
like I've never really seen something like that before. Because up close, obviously,
you could tell that it's painted on. So it kind of looks somewhat like a set. But also,
that must have been way cheaper to decorate buildings. And from afar, like, it makes the
buildings look so cute and beautiful. I kept thinking this town looked like it was from
Howl's Moving Castle, if you've seen that. And I just felt like so many aspects of the
design of the town were, like, so similar to what you saw in the movie.
