I harvested the last octopus tomatoes this year.
Goodbye.
The tomato harvest ended earlier than usual.
It's basil
and melon season.
I have plans to travel
to native apple and melon fields, so I don't think I'll be able to come to the field for a while.
So I quickly harvest only the ripe fruits today.
It's only for a few days, but nothing happens, right??😅

We're going on a trip^^~~~ (Second, third, and fourth daughters)
Passing by Tongyeong.
We went on vacation to Geoje Island, where my son is serving in the military. ~~
My son's
first time in a long time with the whole group (except dad^^)
is Mongdol Beach! I will definitely come back!!
We ate a lot of delicious food and saw a lot of the sea.
After a short vacation with my son, we were planning to travel on our own, but
the plan was canceled😓
(Tongyeong Bus Terminal)
Our car broke down, so we are taking public transportation.
Fortunately, I don't have any young children, so it wasn't that difficult for me.
The bus was a little uncomfortable, but I was glad I didn't have to drive ^^ (Secret)
This is how our short vacation came to an end.
After a short vacation, I returned to my quiet(??) garden.
There's so much grass, right??^^
When there's so much to do and I don't know where to start,
I start by making a road.
There is a road here too.
Is the apple watermelon
ripe?
Ripen!!
It looks as if it is full of grass, but
there is not as much grass as you
might think, so you can cut it quickly.
I also prune the side shoots of the overgrown cucumbers.
In fact, when a child grows to this level, it is difficult to distinguish between a son's order and a grandchild's order.
So I just cut off the unripe stems of the cucumbers^^😅
The bug-eaten peppers are starting to appear.
Making a path while harvesting sweet potato stalks.
It's been a while since I've been alone...
I kept going to noisy places during my vacation, so now it feels like my vacation^^;
'Shall I cut it with a sickle?' After thinking about it, I decided to just quickly clear the path with a lawn mower!!
I like the lawnmower because it is fast.
But I can't cut and cover the grass where I want.
Catching Stink Bugs in Peppers
Harvesting a head of cabbage for a salad
I don't harvest all my cabbage at once, but one by one as I need it.
Coriander
First harvest of properly ripened paprika (yes~~)
Of course, there is also crushed paprika.
(A stem of coriander is very precious to me^^)
The paprika I planted on the grave made of food scraps was red^^😊
It was slightly unripe, but I harvested it right away because I was afraid it might wilt.
I almost left the cilantro out😓
Sweet potato stem skins should be peeled off immediately after harvesting to peel well.
The soft tip shoots
taste like raw ferns (extremely subjective ^^)
I've been alone enough, so I'm going home now~~
When the kids are on vacation, I think the most about what to eat.
(What does unripe paprika taste like??) As expected,
this is also sweet and delicious^^
These combinations are
exactly what I had to prepare right after harvesting the ingredients for Vietnamese spring roll so that I could eat them well without throwing anything away.
Since the weather is so hot,
all I have to do in the morning is to lightly slice up the cucumber cold soup and add
it to the cold soup. I also add wilted apple melons to the cold soup.
When making broth is difficult, I use commercially available cold noodle broth.
To increase the amount of vinegar
broth, I added a little water, salt, and soy sauce.
Late breakfast is a refreshing cold soup~~
Lunch is soybean paste stew with sweet potato shoots.
For a still hot evening, I made Vietnamese spring rolls with finely chopped vegetables.
It's a day filled with ingredients from the garden.
It is a moment when the garden becomes rewarding^^
The next morning
, what used to be an onion field has now become a garden for birds.
I am preparing my garden for fall in earnest.
I'm going to cut down the oak lettuce and sow the autumn altar radish that grows here.
Oak lettuce with many stems.
'It won't taste good anymore, right?'
However, the crunchy and bitter taste is very good as a salad^^ I
seasoned it like this and ate it^^
I was going to throw it away after pulling it, but...this was luck^^
I like the taste of harvesting while cutting it off^^
'Should I pull up the mallow and sow it again?' ...After thinking about it,
I decided to harvest only the tender leaves and leave them as is.
I also cut down the grass that was left standing to protect against moles.
Native chives, chives, chives
Because of the soil that was washed away during
heavy rain, the ground became hard. Could it be that
the really hard popcorn
was eaten by a rat? Or did a bird eat it??
More than half of it was eaten, so I guess I'll have to throw it away..😓
A little bit of this was also eaten...
How did they eat this when it was so hard??
It's very hot these days, even in the evenings. (Take care of your health!!)
The next morning
, I finally use the compost I made in the spring.
Although the fallen leaves are still visible, there is no problem in using it.
Compost still damp from heavy rain.
I also have to move the manure tank soon.
Where I cut the grass yesterday, I cover it with manure.
It's so hot...it looks like it's going to rain soon.
Altarimu sowing / August 2nd
It starts to rain.
It was covered with a thick layer of fallen leaves, but due to heavy rain, it disappeared without a trace.
Still, I’m amazed that the crops are growing well.
Since it is after the rainy season, pests and diseases are likely to be severe. However,
it seems that there are more pests and diseases in the fall when it is a little cooler than now.
I finish the net very carefully to prevent insects from eating the tender shoots.
This guy cuts off the tender stems and eats them!!
There is shade under the cucumbers and watermelons.
I plant fall lettuce in that shade.
Fall lettuce planting | August 2nd
I will begin preparing for growing kimchi cabbage in earnest starting next week.
As always, let's start by making a field^^
Would you like to start together??^^
Thank you for watching~❤️
