Today we vlog doing something we love, drinking wine! We made it to Kelowna British Columbia, Canada's California, or, wine country of the North. While we're here, we just have to do a day of wine tasting. It's a must. We hit up Kitsch, Vibrant, Frequency, and Ancient Hill Winery! (Last night we went to Quails Gate too). We walked the vineyards, ate fresh grapes, learned a ton about wine, and of course drank an appropriate amount. You must do this if you are in Kelowna! It was magical.
Thanks for watching! 😄
We upload a new adventure 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Noon ET!

👩❤️👨US: We met at LaSalle Secondary School in Kingston Ontario and we’ve been together for over 8 years now. Keith comes from a bilingual military family and Devon from a Kingston family of teachers. We made it through Queen’s University together where Keith studied Mechanical Engineering and Devon, Concurrent Education and Global Development. Right now we’re travelling across Canada in a Dodge Caravan for the entire month but come January 2022 we have bigger plans in mind. Our goal is to #travel full time, become #selfemployed, and #explore the world while sharing what we’ve learned and capturing our experiences. 🌎✈️📚
It's super trippy.
We're Keith and Deb.
This past year we started a YouTube channel
to make the most of each day.
Most recently we have converted a
2011 Dodge Caravan
and have been travelling across Canada
from Ontario all the way to BC.
Subscribe to follow along.
Good morning!
So the last few days we haven't
vlogged for personal reasons but we want to
get you caught up on what happened yesterday.
Yesterday I got a haircut.
Look at this. Fresh.
Ooh. Ooh.
That's the States right there.
We're driving right along the border.
Then we got
an oil change for Banny.
We ate Chinese food in the Jiffy parking lot.
Then we drove
to Kelowna through
lightning, thunder,
pouring rain, puddles.
And lots of wildfires too.
Oh my god.
There's stumps on fire.
It was crazy changes in weather.
And ended up at a winery.
Quail's Gate.
That's about all that happened yesterday.
And now as you can see we are in the car
rushing
to go to another winery.
Because we're in Kelowna and we might as well
hit up some wineries.
We're going to start our wine tasting
here in the morning at 11.20 without breakfast
and only coffee in our stomachs.
Because we woke up late and didn't have time to eat.
Holy Hannah.
The wine tasting
was amazing. I'm into whites now.
It's special. It was such
good wine. It was so fun.
And it's like 11.30? And the story
about this place is so cool.
It's literally this couple that started
the winery out of their literally
parents garage. But it's so beautiful.
The guy that made Saks underwear.
It's his winery.
He started this winery. Great wine.
Great vibes. We're going to go back.
Our camera was full. So that's why
we're back here talking.
But yeah. I'm just blown away.
Have a little breakfast and move on to the next winery.
This was really cool. Kitsch was awesome.
Hi. Welcome to my vineyard.
Is this your vineyard dad?
No it's not.
But it's pretty cool. He said
that we could try one of the grapes.
He said look for a ripe grape and you can try it.
So we're going to try some grapes.
Hey grapey grapey grapey. How do you know if they're ripe?
Are these green or dark? No these are definitely light grapes.
These are Chardonnay.
We have the seeds. You're not supposed to eat the seeds.
What happens if we eat the seeds?
I'm like. The guy just told us
to spit them out though.
That's actually really good.
I thought it was going to be really sour.
But it's actually really good.
Are they so cool?
Very delicious. Very delicious.
I could eat this all day. I guess we shouldn't though.
Because then they won't be able to make wine anymore.
And then they go out of business because we ate them all.
I do want to eat more though.
These vines are so beautiful.
We made it to our next stop.
It is the Vibrant Vine.
And it turns out this is the only
3D winery in the whole world.
So let's go check it out.
But what does that mean?
It's super trippy.
We can't show you in the camera
but it's very trippy.
Very cool. What a creative idea.
It looks really cool.
So the son of the owner of this winery
was creating this art and created
the 3D aspect by accident.
Turns out it's just the
contrasting colors and the outlines.
The way he was creating the art made it 3D.
And they realized it was 3D.
And unfortunately we can't capture it on camera.
We tried with like one glass.
We tried a lot of different ways.
But it's really cool. So if you're in the area
come to this winery.
We wanted to tell you a story about the whoop spot
of the wine. It's called the whoops
wine because the person
who was putting the labels on, she was doing them by hand
and it was late at night and she didn't
realize until she stepped in.
She did all of them upside down.
So all the labels on the bottle of the wine are upside down.
The other thing that's really cool about that wine is
it's a really cool label so they sent it into this
label competition in Europe.
In Geneva. They sent in the
actual bottles but
you just needed to send in the labels so they got disqualified.
But the label company felt bad so they
sent it next door where there was an actual
wine tasting
competition with over 10,000 bottles of wine.
The competition didn't realize
that these guys were just entered late
or else they wouldn't have been able to get in.
And they actually won the competition in 2013.
Best white wine in 2013.
Yeah.
10,000 bottles. So cool.
So we're probably going to buy a bottle.
Also, if you're wearing 3D glasses
while you're watching this video, you'll be able
to see the 3D aspect of this
of this art.
They have live music.
To our next stop.
So we just got to Frequency
Winery and it's music themed
so we're really excited to see what it's like inside.
It's so cute.
And really cool.
Fascinating. So they play music
to all the wines to help
it age and to help the sediments
go down.
What a cool science.
And what's really neat too, we realized it's
like a sister or brother
winery of the place we just were at
and it's actually the middle child of that family
started this winery because he's a musician.
And he was playing music
and learned that the wine was better
the ones closer to where he was playing
music so he started this winery.
Playing the drums, right?
Which I'm going to go do now. Let's go play the drums.
We made it
to our last winery of the
day and we're going to have a picnic here
after we get some
wine for our tasting.
This is so beautiful.
So we made it here and there's a majestic
vibe. It's beautiful.
But there is a good vibe.
We're trying the Pinot Grigio
right now in 2019 and it's
the last sort of batch
because in 2020 they won't have one
because the bears literally picked
all the grapes. And according
to the lady we just talked to who was doing the wine tour
you can see the bears popping
out between here and the tree
over there. What the heck?
We will keep our eyes peeled
for the bears.
This wine is really good because
it's not using any
wine terminology. It's got a bite
but then it's really smooth and I love
it.
We're still at Ancient Hills. And we're
having a little picnic here. We're starting
with some appetizers of veggies and hummus.
We're starving.
What a magical day.
These vineyards are so
beautiful. It's been such a
wonderful day. Thanks for taking
along with us. Lots of really
cool, unique wineries in this
area. Kelowna is unreal.
I'm really happy we stopped here.
Yeah and it wasn't smoky
and just so peaceful and just
awesome. Yes, so thank
you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow in
Revelstoke. Yeah, see ya.
Thanks for watching.
You're blocking all my artwork I was looking at.
Like sorry, we don't
have wine this year because the bears ate them all.
That's so classic Canadian.
So this is the German one
I can't pronounce.
Medium bodied.
Lightly oaked.
This Pinot Noir has
It's not Pinot Noir.
No, I'm drinking the Pinot Noir. I know what I'm talking about.
Sorry.
It's got aromas of cherry and vanilla.
And
cut. You really know what you're talking about, eh?
Reading off the script.
It makes sense. Hints of
caramel. You can find the
caramel.
