EMPOLI-MONZA 0-0 | HIGHLIGHTS | The side split the points in Tuscany | Serie A 2024/25

Daniel Maldini, chance to run at this Empoli defence. Still with Daniel Maldini. Drags it wide. That's what he's capable of, Daniel Maldini. Jacopo Fazzini. Into the box, still with Fazzini. With a pullback, and Esposito was there. It was just crowded out. Played in by Henderson, it's flicked on. And just wide of the post. Heart in mouth moment for Monza. Here goes Esposito! He scored in the cup. He's eager to score on his Serie A debut for Empoli as well. Left by Kyriakopoulos. Swung in, flicked on. Now Luka Kaldirola! Blazes it over the bar. Fell perhaps to the wrong person. The centre-back. Now Lukiewicz. Colombo. Gets past Marie. Still with Lorenzo Colombo. Goes appealing for the corner kick. Pizzignacco. Did he get a touch on it? Henderson. Solbakken. Nice feet from the Norwegian. Still with Solbakken. Denied by Pizzignacco. Would have been some impact from the substitute. Fresh from joining on loan from Roma. Through the legs of Pablo Marie. But couldn't get it beyond Pizzignacco. A point apiece for Empoli and Monza on the opening day of the Serie A season. The Tuscans just lack the cutting edge in the final third. Pizzignacco the busier of the two keepers. But he will end his Serie A debut with a clean sheet.
